< John 5 >

1 After these things there was the feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
Yei akyi no, Yudafoɔ afahyɛ bi enti, Yesu sane kɔɔ Yerusalem.
2 Now there is at Jerusalem, by the sheep-gate, a pool, which is called in Hebrew Bethzatha, having five porches.
Na ɔtadeɛ bi wɔ kuro no mu a wɔfrɛ no Betesda a na ɛbɛn kuro no ano ɛpono kɛseɛ bi a wɔfrɛ no Nnwan Ɛpono no. Na wɔabɔ apata ahodoɔ enum atwa ho ahyia.
3 In these were lying a multitude of diseased persons, blind, lame, withered.
4
Deɛ ɛteɛ ne sɛ, sɛ ɔbɔfoɔ no hono nsuo no wie a, ɔyarefoɔ a ɔbɛdi ɛkan atɔ nsuo no mu no nya ayaresa.
5 And a certain man was there, who had had his infirmity thirty-eight years.
Na ɔbarima bi ayare ada ɔtadeɛ no ho mfeɛ aduasa nwɔtwe.
6 Jesus saw this man lying there, and knowing that he had been for a long time diseased, saith to him, Dost thou wish to be made well?
Yesu hunuu sɛ wayare ada hɔ akyɛre no, ɔbisaa no sɛ, “Wopɛ sɛ wo ho yɛ wo den anaa?”
7 The diseased man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool; but while I am coming, another goeth down before me.
Ɔyarefoɔ no buaa no sɛ, “Me wura, sɛ ɔbɔfoɔ no bɛhono nsuo no a, mennya obi a ɔbɛma me so ato mu. Ɛberɛ biara a mɛbɔ me ho mmɔden sɛ merekɔ nsuo no mu no, obi di me ɛkan.”
8 Jesus saith to him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
Yesu ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Sɔre! Bobɔ wo kɛtɛ na kɔ efie.”
9 And immediately the man was made well, and took up his bed, and walked. And that day was the sabbath.
Amonom hɔ ara, ɔbarima no ho yɛɛ no den; ɔbobɔɔ ne kɛtɛ, hyɛɛ aseɛ nanteeɛ. Na saa da no yɛ homeda.
10 The Jews therefore said to him that was cured, It is the sabbath; and it is not lawful for thee to take up the bed.
Yudafoɔ mpanin hunuu ɔbarima no sɛ ɔso ne kɛtɛ no, wɔn bo fuu yie. Wɔbisaa no sɛ, “Wonnim sɛ ɛnnɛ yɛ homeda na ɛtia mmara sɛ wobɛsoa wo kɛtɛ anaa?”
11 He answered them, He that made me well, the same said to me, Take up thy bed, and walk. T
Ɔbarima yi de ahopopoɔ yii ne ho ano sɛ, “Onipa a ɔsaa me yadeɛ no na ɔka kyerɛɛ me sɛ, mensoa me kɛtɛ na menkɔ.”
12 hey asked him, Who is the man that said to thee, Take up, and walk?
Wɔtee saa no, wɔbisaa no sɛ, “Hwan ne saa onipa yi?”
13 But the diseased man knew not who it was; for Jesus had withdrawn himself, there being a crowd in the place.
Nso na deɛ ne ho yɛɛ no den no nnim Yesu. Afei, nso na Yesu afiri nnipa no mu kɔ.
14 Afterwards Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, Behold, thou art made well; sin no more, lest something worse befall thee.
Akyire yi, Yesu hyiaa ɔbarima yi wɔ asɔredan mu tuu no fo sɛ, “Afei a wo ho ayɛ wo den yi, hwɛ yie na woankɔyɛ bɔne bio amma biribi a ɛsene kane yadeɛ no amma wo so.”
15 The man went away, and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.
Ɔbarima yi firii hɔ kɔka kyerɛɛ Yudafoɔ mpanin no sɛ ɛyɛ Yesu na ɔsaa no yadeɛ no.
16 And on this account the Jews persecuted Jesus, because he did these things on the sabbath.
Yudafoɔ mpanin yi hyɛɛ aseɛ tanee Yesu ani, ɛfiri sɛ, wabu wɔn homeda mmara no so.
17 But he answered them, My Father is working up to this time, and I work.
Yesu ka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Mʼagya yɛ adwuma ɛberɛ biara, enti ɛsɛ sɛ me nso meyɛ adwuma ɛberɛ biara.”
18 On this account the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only broke the sabbath, but also said that God was his own Father, making himself equal with God.
Saa asɛm a Yesu kaeɛ yi maa Yudafoɔ mpanin no bo fuiɛ, na wɔyɛɛ wɔn adwene sɛ wɔbɛkum no, ɛfiri sɛ, na ɛnyɛ homeda mmara no nko na wabu so, na bio, ɔfrɛ ne ho sɛ Onyankopɔn Ba de kyerɛ sɛ, ɔne Onyankopɔn yɛ pɛ.
19 Then answered Jesus and said to them, Truly, truly do I say to you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father doing; for whatever He doeth, these things the Son also doeth in like manner;
Yesu ka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Ɔba no ntumi mfiri ne pɛ mu nyɛ biribi, na mmom, ɔyɛ deɛ ɔhunu sɛ nʼAgya yɛ no bi.
20 for the Father loveth the Son, and showeth him all things which he himself doeth; and greater works than these will he show him, so that ye will wonder.
Ɛfiri sɛ, Agya no dɔ Ɔba no na biribiara a Agya no yɛ no, ɔma Ɔba no hunu. Na Ɔba no bɛyɛ nnwuma akɛseɛ a ɛsene saa ɔbarima yi ayaresa yi ama mo ho adwiri mo.
21 For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and giveth them life, so the Son also giveth life to whom he will.
Na sɛdeɛ Agya no nyane awufoɔ no, saa ara nso na Ɔba no nyane awufoɔ a ɔpɛ sɛ ɔnyane wɔn no.
22 For neither doth the Father judge any one, but hath committed all judgment to the Son;
Afei koraa, mʼAgya mmu obiara atɛn. Ɔde saa atemmuo tumi no ahyɛ Ɔba no nsa,
23 that all may honor the Son, as they honor the Father. He that honoreth not the Son, honoreth not the Father, who sent him.
sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a obiara bɛdi Ɔba no ni sɛdeɛ wɔdi Agya no ni no. Obiara a ɔnni Ɔba no ni no, nni Agya a ɔsomaa no no nso ni.
24 Truly, truly do I say to you, He that heareth my word, and believeth him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and cometh not into condemnation, but hath passed out of death into life. (aiōnios g166)
“Mereka nokorɛ akyerɛ mo sɛ: Obiara a ɔtie me nsɛm na ɔgye deɛ ɔsomaa me no di no, wɔ nkwa a ɛnni awieeɛ. Wɔremmu no atɛn, ɛfiri sɛ, wafiri owuo mu aba nkwa mu. (aiōnios g166)
25 Truly, truly do I say to you, The hour is coming and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and they that hear will live.
Mereka nokorɛ bio sɛ, ɛberɛ bi reba, na mpo saa ɛberɛ no anya aba a awufoɔ bɛte Onyankopɔn Ba no nne, na wɔn a wɔte ne nne no bɛnya nkwa.
26 For as the Father hath life in himself, so did he give to the Son also to have life in himself.
Sɛdeɛ Agya no yɛ nkwamafoɔ no, saa ara nso na wama ne Ba no tumi ama wayɛ nkwamafoɔ.
27 And he gave him authority to execute judgment, because he is a son of man.
Wama Ɔba no tumi a ɔde bu atɛn, ɛfiri sɛ, ɔno ne Onipa Ba no.
28 Marvel not at this; for the hour is coming, in which all that are in the tombs will hear his voice,
“Mommma saa asɛm yi nnyɛ mo nwanwa, ɛfiri sɛ, ɛberɛ bi reba a awufoɔ a wɔwɔ wɔn damena mu mpo bɛte me nne,
29 and will come forth, they that have done good, to a resurrection of life; they that have done evil, to a resurrection of condemnation.
na wɔasɔresɔre. Wɔn a wɔayɛ papa no bɛnyane atena nkwa mu, na wɔn a wɔayɛ bɔne no nso, wɔabu wɔn fɔ.
30 I can of myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will, but the will of him that sent me.
Merentumi mfiri mʼankasa me tumi mu nyɛ biribiara; asɛm a Onyankopɔn aka akyerɛ me no so na megyina bu atɛn. Ɛno enti, atɛn a mebu no yɛ nokorɛ.
31 If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.
“Sɛ me ara medi me ho adanseɛ a, mʼadansedie no nni mu.
32 There is another who beareth witness of me; and ye know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true.
Na obi wɔ hɔ a ɔdi me ho adanseɛ a menim sɛ nʼadanseɛ a ɔdi fa me ho no yɛ nokorɛ.
33 Ye have sent to John, and he hath borne witness to the truth.
“Moasoma nnipa akɔ Yohane nkyɛn na wadi adanseɛ a ɛyɛ nokorɛ.
34 But the testimony which I receive is not from man; but these things I say, that ye may be saved.
Nnipa adansedie ho nhia me ansa na moahunu onipa ko a meyɛ. Na mmom, meka Yohane adanseɛ a ɔdii no kyerɛ mo sɛ deɛ ɛbɛyɛ na Onyankopɔn bɛgye mo nkwa.
35 He was the burning and shining lamp: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.
Yohane nsɛm a ɔkaeɛ yɛ kanea a wɔasɔ na ɛhyerɛn, na ɛmaa mo ani gyeeɛ.
36 But the testimony which I have, is greater than that of John; for the works which the Father hath given me to perform, the works themselves which I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.
“Me nnwuma a mʼAgya de ama me sɛ menyɛ no di me ho adanseɛ sene Yohane.
37 And the Father who sent me, he hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his form.
Ɛwom sɛ monhunuu Agya no anim da, na montee ne nne nso da, nanso wadi me ho adanseɛ.
38 And ye have not his word abiding in you; for whom he sent, him ye believe not.
Na nʼasɛm no nso mommfa nsie mo tirim, ɛfiri sɛ, monnnye me a ɔsomaa me no nni.
39 Ye search the Scriptures, because ye yourselves think that in them ye have everlasting life; and it is they which testify of me; (aiōnios g166)
Mosua Atwerɛsɛm no ɛfiri sɛ, mogye di sɛ ɛno na ɛbɛma mo anya nkwa a ɛnni awieeɛ. Nanso, saa Atwerɛsɛm korɔ no ara di me ho adanseɛ! (aiōnios g166)
40 and ye are not willing to come to me, that ye may have life.
Yei nyinaa akyi no, mommpɛ sɛ moba me nkyɛn na moanya nkwa!
41 I receive not honor from men;
“Merenhwehwɛ nnipa anim animuonyam.
42 but I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.
Menim nnipa ko a moyɛ. Menim sɛ monni Onyankopɔn ho dɔ.
43 I have come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not; if another come in his own name, him ye will receive.
Mebaa mʼAgya din mu nanso moannye me. Nanso, sɛ obi ba wɔ ɔno ara ne din mu na ɔbɛyɛ deɛ ɔpɛ a, ɛno deɛ, mogye no.
44 How can ye believe while ye receive honor from one another, and seek not the honor that is from him who alone is God?
Mopɛ sɛ nnipa kamfo mo mmom sene sɛ Onyankopɔn bɛkamfo mo. Ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na moagye me adi?
45 Do not think that I shall accuse you to the Father; there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye have placed your hope.
“Ɛnyɛ me na mɛka asɛm bi atia mo Agya no anim, na mmom, ɛyɛ Mose a mode mo ani too ne mmara so sɛ ɛno na monam so bɛkɔ Onyankopɔn Ahennie mu no.
46 For if ye believed Moses, ye would believe me; for he wrote of me.
Sɛ mogyee Mose diiɛ a, anka me nso mobɛgye me adi, ɛfiri sɛ, nsɛm a ɔtwerɛeɛ no di me ho adanseɛ.
47 But if ye do not believe his writings, how will ye believe my words?
Na ɛsiane sɛ moannye nsɛm a ɔtwerɛeɛ no anni no enti, ɛnyɛ nwanwa sɛ monnye me nni.”
