John 5
1 After these things there was the feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
೧ಇದಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಒಂದು ಜಾತ್ರೆ ಇದ್ದುದರಿಂದ ಯೇಸು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಹೋದನು.
2 Now there is at Jerusalem, by the sheep-gate, a pool, which is called in Hebrew Bethzatha, having five porches.
೨ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕುರಿಬಾಗಿಲು ಎಂಬ ಸ್ಥಳದ ಬಳಿ ಐದು ಮಂಟಪಗಳಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದ ಒಂದು ಕೊಳವಿದೆ. ಅದನ್ನು ಇಬ್ರಿಯ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇತ್ಸಥಾ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ.
3 In these were lying a multitude of diseased persons, blind, lame, withered.
೩ಇವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಸ್ವಸ್ಥರೂ, ರೋಗಿಗಳೂ, ಕುರುಡರೂ, ಕುಂಟರೂ, ಪಾರ್ಶ್ವವಾಯು ಪೀಡಿತರು ಮೊದಲಾದ ಅನೇಕ ರೋಗಿಗಳು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದುಕೊಂಡಿರುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. (ನೀರು ಕಲಕುವುದನ್ನು ಕಾದುಕೊಂಡು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದುಕೊಂಡಿರುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಆಗಾಗ ಒಬ್ಬ ದೂತನು ಬಂದು ಕೊಳದ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕಲಕಿಹೊಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. ಆಗ ಮೊದಲು ಯಾರು ಕೊಳದೊಳಗೆ ಇಳಿಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೋ ಅವರ ರೋಗವು ವಾಸಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು.)

5 And a certain man was there, who had had his infirmity thirty-eight years.
೫ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂವತ್ತೆಂಟು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ರೋಗಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿದ್ದನು.
6 Jesus saw this man lying there, and knowing that he had been for a long time diseased, saith to him, Dost thou wish to be made well?
೬ಅವನು ಬಿದ್ದುಕೊಂಡಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಯೇಸು ನೋಡಿ ಇವನಿಗೆ ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಬಹು ಕಾಲವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅರಿತು ಅವನಿಗೆ “ನಿನಗೆ ಗುಣಹೊಂದಲು ಮನಸ್ಸಿದೆಯೋ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
7 The diseased man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool; but while I am coming, another goeth down before me.
೭ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಆ ರೋಗಿಯು “ಆಯ್ಯಾ, ನೀರು ಉಕ್ಕುವಾಗ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಳದೊಳಗೆ ಇಳಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲ. ನಾನು ಹೋಗುವುದರೊಳಗೆ ನನಗಿಂತ ಮೊದಲು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನು ಇಳಿಯುತ್ತಾನೆ” ಎಂದನು.
8 Jesus saith to him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
೮ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಎದ್ದು ನಿನ್ನ ಹಾಸಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ನಡೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
9 And immediately the man was made well, and took up his bed, and walked. And that day was the sabbath.
೯ಕೂಡಲೇ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಸ್ವಸ್ಥನಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಹಾಸಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ನಡೆದನು. ಅಂದು ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನವಾಗಿತ್ತು,
10 The Jews therefore said to him that was cured, It is the sabbath; and it is not lawful for thee to take up the bed.
೧೦ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ಸ್ವಸ್ಥವಾದವನಿಗೆ, “ಈ ದಿನ ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನವಾದುದರಿಂದ ನೀನು ಹಾಸಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವುದು ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿದೆಯೆಂದು” ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ,
11 He answered them, He that made me well, the same said to me, Take up thy bed, and walk. T
೧೧ಅವನು, “ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಸ್ವಸ್ಥಮಾಡಿದವನೇ ‘ನಿನ್ನ ಹಾಸಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ನಡೆ’ ಎಂದು ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು” ಎಂದನು.
12 hey asked him, Who is the man that said to thee, Take up, and walk?
೧೨ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಅದನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ನಡೆ ಎಂದು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಯಾರು?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರು.
13 But the diseased man knew not who it was; for Jesus had withdrawn himself, there being a crowd in the place.
೧೩ಆದರೆ ಆತನು ಯಾರೆಂದು ಸ್ವಸ್ಥನಾದವನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, ಯೇಸು ಆ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದ ಜನರ ಗುಂಪಿನ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಮರೆಯಾದನು.
14 Afterwards Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, Behold, thou art made well; sin no more, lest something worse befall thee.
೧೪ಇದಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೇಸು ಅವನನ್ನು ದೇವಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡು, “ನಿನಗೆ ಸ್ವಸ್ಥವಾಯಿತಲ್ಲಾ; ಇನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆ ಪಾಪ ಮಾಡಬೇಡ, ನಿನಗೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಕೇಡು ಬಂದೀತು” ಎಂದನು.
15 The man went away, and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.
೧೫ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹೋಗಿ, ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಸ್ವಸ್ಥಪಡಿಸಿದಾತನು ಯೇಸುವೇ ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದನು.
16 And on this account the Jews persecuted Jesus, because he did these things on the sabbath.
೧೬ಆದಕಾರಣ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು, ಯೇಸು ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂಥಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನಲ್ಲಾ ಎಂದು ಆತನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಸಿಸತೊಡಗಿದರು.
17 But he answered them, My Father is working up to this time, and I work.
೧೭ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ಇಂದಿನವರೆಗೂ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ, ನಾನೂ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
18 On this account the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only broke the sabbath, but also said that God was his own Father, making himself equal with God.
೧೮ಯೇಸು ಈ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಆತನು ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಅಲಕ್ಷ್ಯಮಾಡಿದ್ದಲ್ಲದೇ, ದೇವರನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ತಂದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸರಿಸಮಾನ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡನೆಂದು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ಆತನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಪಟ್ಟರು.
19 Then answered Jesus and said to them, Truly, truly do I say to you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father doing; for whatever He doeth, these things the Son also doeth in like manner;
೧೯ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಜನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ, ತಂದೆಯು ಮಾಡುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಮಗನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆಯೇ, ಹೊರತು ತನ್ನಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ತಾನೇ ಏನೂ ಮಾಡಲಾರನು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಆತನು ಯಾವುದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮಾಡುವನೋ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಗನೂ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
20 for the Father loveth the Son, and showeth him all things which he himself doeth; and greater works than these will he show him, so that ye will wonder.
೨೦ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, ತಂದೆಯು ಮಗನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ, ತಾನು ಮಾಡುವುದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅವನಿಗೆ ತೋರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಇವುಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಮಹತ್ತಾದ ಕೆಲಸಗಳನ್ನು ಆತನಿಗೆ ತೋರಿಸುವನು. ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯವಾಗುವುದು.
21 For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and giveth them life, so the Son also giveth life to whom he will.
೨೧ತಂದೆಯು ಹೇಗೆ ಸತ್ತವರನ್ನು ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿ ಬದುಕಿಸುತ್ತಾನೋ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಗನು ಸಹ ತನಗೆ ಬೇಕಾದವರನ್ನು ಬದುಕಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.
22 For neither doth the Father judge any one, but hath committed all judgment to the Son;
೨೨ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ತಂದೆಯು ಯಾರಿಗೂ ತೀರ್ಪುಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಆದರೆ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ತೀರ್ಪನ್ನು ಮಗನಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
23 that all may honor the Son, as they honor the Father. He that honoreth not the Son, honoreth not the Father, who sent him.
೨೩ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಯಾವ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಗೌರವಿಸುವರೋ ಅದೇ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಗನನ್ನೂ ಗೌರವಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಮಗನನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸದವನು ಆತನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸಲಾರನು.
24 Truly, truly do I say to you, He that heareth my word, and believeth him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and cometh not into condemnation, but hath passed out of death into life. (aiōnios g166)
೨೪ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಜನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ ನನ್ನ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದಾತನನ್ನು ನಂಬುವವನು ನಿತ್ಯ ಜೀವವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆ, ಅವನು ಖಂಡನೆಗೆ ಗುರಿಯಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಮರಣದಿಂದ ಪಾರಾಗಿ ಜೀವದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿದ್ದಾನೆ. (aiōnios g166)
25 Truly, truly do I say to you, The hour is coming and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and they that hear will live.
೨೫ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಜನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ ಸತ್ತವರು ದೇವಕುಮಾರನ ಸ್ವರವನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವ ಕಾಲ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ, ಅದು ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಬಂದಿದೆ, ಕೇಳಿದವರು ಬದುಕುವರು.
26 For as the Father hath life in himself, so did he give to the Son also to have life in himself.
೨೬ತಂದೆಯು ತಾನು ಹೇಗೆ ಸ್ವತಃ ಜೀವವುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೋ, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಗನೂ ಸ್ವತಃ ಜೀವವುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿರುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
27 And he gave him authority to execute judgment, because he is a son of man.
೨೭ಮಗನು ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರ್ಪು ಮಾಡುವ ಅಧಿಕಾರವನ್ನೂ ತಂದೆ ಆತನಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
28 Marvel not at this; for the hour is coming, in which all that are in the tombs will hear his voice,
೨೮ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯಪಡಬೇಡಿರಿ. ಒಂದು ಕಾಲ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ, ಆಗಸಮಾಧಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿರುವವರೆಲ್ಲಾ ಆತನ ಸ್ವರವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ,
29 and will come forth, they that have done good, to a resurrection of life; they that have done evil, to a resurrection of condemnation.
೨೯ಎದ್ದು ಹೊರಗೆ ಬರುವರು. ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದವರಿಗೆ ನಿತ್ಯಜೀವಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಪುನರುತ್ಥಾನವಾಗುವುದು. ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದವರು ಖಂಡನೆಗಾಗಿ ಪುನರುತ್ಥಾನವನ್ನೂ ಹೊಂದುವರು.
30 I can of myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will, but the will of him that sent me.
೩೦“ನನ್ನಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನೇ ಏನೂ ಮಾಡಲಾರೆನು ತಂದೆಯು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದನ್ನು ನಾನು ಕೇಳಿ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ವಂತ ಚಿತ್ತ ನೆರವೇರಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸದೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದಾತನ ಚಿತ್ತ ನೆರವೇರಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಾನು ಬಯಸುವುದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಮಾಡುವ ತೀರ್ಪು ನ್ಯಾಯವಾಗಿದೆ.
31 If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.
೩೧ನನ್ನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ನಾನೇ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಹೇಳಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ನನ್ನ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ಸತ್ಯವಾದದ್ದಲ್ಲ.
32 There is another who beareth witness of me; and ye know that the witness which he witnesseth of me is true.
೩೨ನನ್ನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಹೇಳುವವನು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಆತನು ನನ್ನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುವ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ನಿಜವೆಂದು ನಾನು ಬಲ್ಲೆನು.
33 Ye have sent to John, and he hath borne witness to the truth.
೩೩ನೀವು ಯೋಹಾನನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ದೂತರನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿಕೊಂಡು ಬರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದಿರಿ. ಅವನು ಸತ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
34 But the testimony which I receive is not from man; but these things I say, that ye may be saved.
೩೪ನಾನಂತೂ ನನಗೆ ಬೇಕಾದ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯನ್ನು ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಂದ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯಾಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಇದನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
35 He was the burning and shining lamp: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.
೩೫ಯೋಹಾನನು ಉರಿಯುವ ದೀಪದಂತೆ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಿಸಿದನು. ಅವನು ಕೊಡುವ ಬೆಳಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಕಾಲ ಅತ್ಯಾನಂದಪಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಮಾಡಿದಿರಿ.
36 But the testimony which I have, is greater than that of John; for the works which the Father hath given me to perform, the works themselves which I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.
೩೬ನನಗಂತೂ ಯೋಹಾನನ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಗಿಂತ ದೊಡ್ಡದಾದಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಉಂಟು. ಹೇಗೆಂದರೆ, ಪೂರೈಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ತಂದೆಯು ನನಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಕೆಲಸಗಳೇ, ಅಂದರೆ ನಾನು ಮಾಡುವ ಈ ಕೆಲಸಗಳೇ ತಂದೆಯು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ನನ್ನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಕೊಡುತ್ತವೆ.
37 And the Father who sent me, he hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his form.
೩೭ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟ ತಂದೆಯು ನನ್ನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ನೀವು ಎಂದಾದರೂ ಆತನ ಸ್ವರವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೂ ಇಲ್ಲ, ಆತನ ರೂಪವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದ್ದೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.
38 And ye have not his word abiding in you; for whom he sent, him ye believe not.
೩೮ಆತನ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಗೊಂಡಿಲ್ಲ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಆತನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದಾತನನ್ನು ನೀವು ನಂಬದೇ ಇದ್ದೀರಿ.
39 Ye search the Scriptures, because ye yourselves think that in them ye have everlasting life; and it is they which testify of me; (aiōnios g166)
೩೯ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಗಳಿಂದ ನಿತ್ಯಜೀವವು ದೊರೆಯುತ್ತದೆಂದು ನೀವು ತಿಳಿದು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಶೋಧಿಸುತ್ತಿರಾ? ಅವುಗಳೂ ನನ್ನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಕೊಡುವವುಗಳಾಗಿವೆ. (aiōnios g166)
40 and ye are not willing to come to me, that ye may have life.
೪೦ಆದರೂ ಜೀವ ಹೊಂದುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಮಗೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಲ್ಲ.
41 I receive not honor from men;
೪೧“ನಾನು ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಂದ ಬರುವ ಪ್ರಶಂಸೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ,
42 but I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.
೪೨ಆದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಾನು ಬಲ್ಲೆನು. ದೇವರ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ನಿಮ್ಮೊಳಗೆ ಇಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿದೆ.
43 I have come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not; if another come in his own name, him ye will receive.
೪೩ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಆದರೂ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನೀವು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದರೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ನೀವು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುತ್ತೀರಿ.
44 How can ye believe while ye receive honor from one another, and seek not the honor that is from him who alone is God?
೪೪ಒಬ್ಬನೇ ದೇವರಿಂದ ಬರುವ ಮಹಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸದೇ ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಿಮ್ಮೊಳಗೇ ಪ್ರಶಂಸೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುವವರಾದ ನೀವು ಅದನ್ನು ನಂಬಲು ಹೇಗೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯ?
45 Do not think that I shall accuse you to the Father; there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye have placed your hope.
೪೫ನಾನು ತಂದೆಯ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಪವಾದ ಹೊರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಯಬೇಡಿರಿ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಪವಾದ ಹೊರಿಸುವವನು ಒಬ್ಬನಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಅವನೇ ನೀವು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಿಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಮೋಶೆ!
46 For if ye believed Moses, ye would believe me; for he wrote of me.
೪೬ಅವನು ನನ್ನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಬರೆದನು, ಆದುದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ಮೋಶೆಯನ್ನೂ ನಂಬುವವರಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನೂ ನಂಬುತ್ತಿದ್ದಿರಿ.
47 But if ye do not believe his writings, how will ye believe my words?
೪೭ಅವನು ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದಿರುವುದನ್ನು ನೀವು ನಂಬದಿದ್ದರೆ ನಾನು ಹೇಳುವ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ನಂಬುವಿರಿ?” ಎಂದನು.
