John 4
1 When therefore Jesus knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,
౧యేసు యోహాను కన్నా ఎక్కువ మందిని శిష్యులుగా చేసుకుంటున్నాడని, అతని కన్నా ఎక్కువ మందికి బాప్తిసమిస్తున్నాడని పరిసయ్యులు విన్నారని ప్రభువుకు తెలిసింది.
2 (though Jesus himself did not baptize, but his disciples, )
౨నిజానికి యేసు తానే బాప్తిసం ఇవ్వలేదు, ఆయన శిష్యులు ఇస్తూ ఉన్నారు.
3 he left Judaea, and went again to Galilee.
౩అప్పుడు ఆయన యూదయ దేశం నుండి ప్రయాణమై గలిలయ దేశానికి వెళ్ళాడు.
4 And he must necessarily pass through Samaria.
౪మార్గంలో సమరయ ప్రాంతం గుండా ఆయన ప్రయాణం చేయాల్సి వచ్చింది.
5 He cometh therefore to a city of Samaria, called Sychar, near the piece of land which Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
౫అలా ఆయన సమరయలో ఉన్న సుఖారు అనే ఊరికి వచ్చాడు. ఈ ఊరి దగ్గరే యాకోబు తన కొడుకు యోసేపుకు కొంత భూమిని ఇచ్చాడు.
6 And Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with the journey, was sitting thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour.
౬యాకోబు బావి అక్కడ ఉంది. యేసు ప్రయాణంలో అలిసిపోయి ఆ బావి దగ్గర కూర్చున్నాడు. అది మిట్ట మధ్యాహ్నం.
7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus saith to her, Give me to drink.
౭ఒక సమరయ స్త్రీ నీళ్ళు తోడుకోవడానికి ఆ బావి దగ్గరికి వచ్చింది. యేసు ఆమెతో, “తాగడానికి నీళ్ళు ఇస్తావా?” అని అడిగాడు.
8 For his disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.
౮ఆయన శిష్యులు ఆహారం కొనడానికి ఊరిలోకి వెళ్ళారు.
9 The Samaritan woman saith to him, How is it that thou, who art a Jew, askest drink of me, who am a Samaritan woman? For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.
౯ఆ సమరయ స్త్రీ యేసుతో ఇలా అంది, “నువ్వు యూదుడివి. సమరయ స్త్రీ అయిన నన్ను నీళ్ళు ఎలా అడుగుతున్నావు?” ఎందుకంటే యూదులు సమరయులతో ఎలాంటి సంబంధాలూ పెట్టుకోరు.
10 Jesus answered and said to her, If thou hadst known the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink, thou wouldst have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
౧౦దానికి యేసు, “నువ్వు దేవుని బహుమానాన్నీ, తాగడానికి నీళ్ళు కావాలని నిన్ను అడుగుతున్న వ్యక్తినీ తెలుసుకుంటే నువ్వే ఆయనను అడిగేదానివి. ఆయన నీకు జీవజలం ఇచ్చి ఉండేవాడు” అన్నాడు.
11 The woman saith to him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Whence hast thou the living water?
౧౧అప్పుడా స్త్రీ, “అయ్యా, ఈ బావి చాలా లోతు. తోడుకోడానికి నీ దగ్గర చేద లేదు. ఆ జీవజలం నీకెలా దొరుకుతుంది?
12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his sons, and his cattle?
౧౨మన తండ్రి అయిన యాకోబు ఈ బావి నీళ్ళు తాగాడు. తన సంతానానికీ, తన పశువులకూ తాగడానికి ఈ నీళ్ళే ఇచ్చాడు. మాకూ తాగడానికి ఈ బావిని ఇచ్చాడు. నువ్వు ఆయన కంటే గొప్పవాడివా?” అంది.
13 Jesus answered and said to her, Every one that drinketh of this water, will thirst again;
౧౩దానికి యేసు, “ఈ నీళ్ళు తాగే ప్రతి ఒక్కరికీ మళ్ళీ దాహం వేస్తుంది.
15 The woman saith to him, Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come hither to draw.
౧౫అప్పుడు ఆమె ఆయనతో, “అయ్యా, నీళ్ళు చేదుకోడానికి నేను ఇంత దూరం రానవసరం లేకుండా ఆ నీళ్ళు నాకివ్వు” అంది.
16 He saith to her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
౧౬యేసు ఆమెతో, “నువ్వు వెళ్ళి నీ భర్తను ఇక్కడికి తీసుకురా” అన్నాడు.
17 The woman answered, I have no husband. Jesus saith to her, Thou saidst well, that thou hast no husband.
౧౭దానికి ఆ స్త్రీ, “నాకు భర్త లేడు” అంది. యేసు ఆమెతో, “‘భర్త లేడని సరిగ్గానే చెప్పావు.
18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband; in this thou hast spoken truly.
౧౮ఎందుకంటే నీకు ఐదుగురు భర్తలున్నారు. ఇప్పుడు నీతో ఉన్నవాడు నీ భర్త కాడు. ఈ విషయంలో నువ్వు బాగానే చెప్పావు” అన్నాడు.
19 The woman saith to him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
౧౯అప్పుడా స్త్రీ, “అయ్యా, నువ్వు ఒక ప్రవక్తవి అని నాకు అర్థమౌతున్నది.
20 Our fathers worshipped on this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
౨౦మా పూర్వీకులు ఈ కొండ పైన ఆరాధించారు. కానీ ఆరాధించే స్థలం యెరూషలేములో ఉందనీ అందరూ అక్కడికే వెళ్ళి ఆరాధించాలనీ మీరు అంటారు” అంది. అందుకు యేసు ఇలా చెప్పాడు.
21 Jesus saith to her, Believe me, woman, the hour is coming, when ye shall neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father.
౨౧“అమ్మా, తండ్రిని ఈ కొండ మీదో, యెరూషలేములోనో ఆరాధించని కాలం వస్తుంది. నా మాట నమ్ము.
22 Ye worship that which ye know not; we worship that which we know; for salvation is from the Jews.
౨౨మీరు మీకు తెలియని దాన్ని ఆరాధిస్తారు. మేము మాకు తెలిసిన దాన్ని ఆరాధిస్తాము. ఎందుకంటే రక్షణ యూదుల్లో నుండే వస్తుంది.
23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for such worshippers the Father seeketh.
౨౩నిజమైన ఆరాధికులు తండ్రిని హృదయ పూర్వకంగా ఆత్మతోనూ సత్యంతోనూ ఆరాధించే కాలం వస్తుంది. ఇప్పటికే వచ్చేసింది. తనను ఆరాధించేవారు అలాటివారే కావాలని తండ్రి చూస్తున్నాడు.
24 God is a spirit; and they who worship must worship in spirit and in truth.
౨౪దేవుడు ఆత్మ కాబట్టి ఆయనను ఆరాధించే వారు ఆత్మతో, సత్యంతో ఆరాధించాలి.”
25 The woman saith to him, I know that Messiah cometh (who is called Christ); when he hath come, he will tell us all things.
౨౫అప్పుడు ఆ స్త్రీ ఆయనతో, “క్రీస్తు అని పిలిచే మెస్సీయ వస్తున్నాడని నాకు తెలుసు. ఆయన వచ్చినప్పుడు మాకు అంతా వివరిస్తాడు” అంది.
26 Jesus saith to her, I who speak to thee am he.
౨౬అది విని యేసు, “నీతో మాట్లాడుతున్న నేనే ఆయన్ని” అని చెప్పాడు.
27 And upon this his disciples came, and marveled that he was talking with a woman. Yet no one said, What dost thou seek? or, Why dost thou talk with her?
౨౭ఇదే సమయానికి ఆయన శిష్యులు తిరిగి వచ్చారు. ఆ స్త్రీతో ఆయన మాట్లాడుతూ ఉండడం చూసి ‘ఎందుకు మాట్లాడుతున్నాడా’ అని ఆశ్చర్యపడ్డారు. కానీ ‘నీకేం కావాలని’ గానీ ‘ఆమెతో ఎందుకు మాట్లాడుతున్నావు’ అని గానీ ఎవరూ అడగలేదు.
28 The woman then left her water-pot, and went away into the city, and saith to the men,
౨౮ఇక ఆ స్త్రీ తన నీళ్ళ కుండ అక్కడే వదిలిపెట్టి ఊరిలోకి వెళ్ళింది.
29 Come, see a man who told me all things which I have done. Is this the Christ?
౨౯ఆ ఊరి వారితో, “మీరు నాతో వచ్చి నేను చేసిన పనులన్నిటినీ నాతో చెప్పిన వ్యక్తిని చూడండి. ఈయన క్రీస్తు కాడా?” అంది.
30 They went out of the city, and came to him.
౩౦వారంతా ఊరి నుండి బయలు దేరి ఆయన దగ్గరికి వచ్చారు.
31 In the mean while the disciples asked him, saying, Rabbi, eat.
౩౧ఆలోగా శిష్యులు, “బోధకా, భోజనం చెయ్యి” అని ఆయనను బతిమాలారు.
32 But he said to them, I have food to eat that ye know not of.
౩౨దానికి ఆయన, “తినడానికి మీకు తెలియని ఆహారం నాకుంది” అని వారితో చెప్పాడు.
33 The disciples therefore said to one another, Hath any one brought him anything to eat?
౩౩“ఆయన తినడానికి ఎవరైనా భోజనం ఏదైనా తెచ్చారా ఏమిటి?” అని శిష్యులు ఒకరితో ఒకరు చెప్పుకున్నారు.
34 Jesus saith to them, My food is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
౩౪యేసు వారిని చూసి, “నన్ను పంపించిన వాని ఇష్టాన్ని చేయడం, ఆయన పని చేసి ముగించడమే నా ఆహారం.
35 Do ye not say, There are yet four months, and the harvest cometh? Lo! I say to you, lift up your eyes, and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest.
౩౫పంట కోయడానికి కోతకాలం రావాలంటే ఇంకా నాలుగు నెలలు ఉన్నాయని మీరు చెబుతారు కదా! మీ తలలెత్తి పొలాలను చూడండి. అవి ఇప్పటికే పక్వానికి వచ్చి కోతకు సిద్ధంగా ఉన్నాయని మీతో చెబుతున్నాను.
36 Already is the reaper receiving wages, and gathering fruit unto everlasting life; that both the sower and the reaper may rejoice together. (aiōnios g166)
౩౬విత్తనాలు చల్లేవాడూ పంట కోసేవాడూ కలసి సంతోషించేలా కోసేవాడు జీతం తీసుకుని శాశ్వత జీవం కోసం ఫలాన్ని సమకూర్చుకుంటున్నాడు. (aiōnios g166)
37 And herein is fulfilled the true saying, One soweth, and another reapeth.
౩౭ఈ విషయంలో “విత్తనాలు చల్లేది ఒకరు, పంట కోసేది మరొకరు, అనే మాట నిజమే.
38 I have sent you to reap that whereon ye have not labored. Others have labored, and ye have entered into their labor.
౩౮మీరు దేని కోసం ప్రయాస పడలేదో దాన్ని కోయడానికి మిమ్మల్ని పంపాను. ఇతరులు చాకిరీ చేశారు. వారి కష్టఫలాన్ని మీరు అనుభవిస్తున్నారు” అన్నాడు.
39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in him because of the words of the woman, who testified, He told me all things which I have done.
౩౯‘నేను చేసినవన్నీ ఆయన నాతో చెప్పాడు’ అంటూ సాక్ష్యం ఇచ్చిన స్త్రీ మాటను బట్టి ఆ పట్టణంలోని అనేక మంది సమరయులు ఆయనలో విశ్వాసముంచారు.
40 When therefore the Samaritans came to him, they besought him to remain with them; and he remained there two days.
౪౦ఆ సమరయ వారు ఆయన దగ్గరికి వచ్చి తమతో ఉండమని ఆయనను వేడుకున్నారు. కాబట్టి ఆయన అక్కడ రెండు రోజులు ఉన్నాడు.
41 And many more believed on account of his word;
౪౧ఆయన మాటలు విని ఇంకా చాలా మంది ఆయనలో విశ్వాసముంచారు. వారు ఆ స్త్రీతో, “మేము విశ్వసించింది కేవలం నీ మాట మీదే కాదు.
42 and said to the woman, No longer do we believe on account of what thou hast told us; for we have ourselves heard him, and know that this is in truth the Saviour of the world.
౪౨మేము కూడా ఆయన మాటలు విన్నాం. ఇప్పుడు ఈయన నిజంగా ఈ లోక రక్షకుడని తెలుసుకున్నాం” అన్నారు.
43 And after the two days he went from that place into Galilee.
౪౩ఆ రెండు రోజులయ్యాక ఆయన గలిలయకు ప్రయాణమై వెళ్ళాడు.
44 For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honor in his own country.
౪౪ఎందుకంటే ఏ ప్రవక్తా తన స్వదేశంలో గౌరవం పొందడని ఆయనే స్వయంగా ప్రకటించాడు.
45 When therefore he came into Galilee, the Galilaeans received him, having seen all that he did in Jerusalem at the feast; for they also went to the feast.
౪౫ఆయన గలిలయకు వచ్చినప్పుడు గలిలయులు ఆయనకు స్వాగతం పలికారు. పండగ ఆచరించడం కోసం గలిలయులు కూడా యెరూషలేముకు వెళ్తారు. అక్కడ ఆయన చేసిన పనులన్నీ వారు చూశారు.
46 So he came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick, at Capernaum.
౪౬యేసు గలిలయలోని కానా అనే ఊరికి వచ్చాడు. ఆయన నీటిని ద్రాక్షరసంగా మార్చింది ఇక్కడే. అదే సమయంలో కపెర్నహూములో ఒక అధికారి కొడుకు జబ్బుపడి ఉన్నాడు.
47 He, having heard that Jesus had come out of Judaea into Galilee, went to him, and asked him to go down and heal his son; for he was at the point of death.
౪౭యేసు యూదయ నుండి గలిలయకు వచ్చాడని అతడు విన్నాడు. ఆయన దగ్గరికి వెళ్ళాడు. తన కొడుకు చావడానికి సిద్ధంగా ఉన్నాడనీ వచ్చి బాగుచేయాలనీ ఆయనను వేడుకున్నాడు.
48 Then Jesus said to him, Unless ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.
౪౮యేసు అతడితో ఇలా అన్నాడు, “సూచనలూ అద్భుతాలూ చూడందే మీరు నమ్మనే నమ్మరు.”
49 The nobleman saith to him, Sir, come down before my child die.
౪౯అందుకా అధికారి, “ప్రభూ, నా కొడుకు చావక ముందే రా” అని వేడుకున్నాడు.
50 Jesus saith to him, Go; thy son liveth. The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and went away.
౫౦యేసు అతడితో, “నువ్వు వెళ్ళు. నీ కొడుకు బతుకుతాడు” అని చెప్పాడు. ఆ మాట నమ్మి అతడు వెళ్ళి పోయాడు.
51 And as he was now going down, the servants met him, and brought word that his child was living.
౫౧అతడు దారిలో ఉండగానే అతడి సేవకులు ఎదురొచ్చారు. అతని కొడుకు బతికాడని తెలియజేశారు.
52 Then he inquired of them the hour when he began to mend. And they said to him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.
౫౨“ఏ సమయంలో వాడు బాగవ్వడం ప్రారంభమైంది” అని అతడు వారిని అడిగాడు. వారు, “నిన్న ఒంటి గంటకు జ్వరం తగ్గడం మొదలైంది” అని చెప్పారు.
53 So the father knew that it was in the same hour in which Jesus said to him, Thy son is living. And he himself believed, and his whole house.
౫౩‘నీ కొడుకు బతికి ఉన్నాడు’ అని యేసు తనతో చెప్పిన సమయం సరిగ్గా అదేనని అతడు తెలుసుకున్నాడు. కాబట్టి అతడూ, అతని ఇంట్లో అందరూ నమ్మారు.
54 This again, a second sign, Jesus wrought, when he had come out of Judaea into Galilee.
౫౪ఇది యేసు యూదయ నుండి గలిలయకు వచ్చి చేసిన రెండవ సూచకక్రియ.
