John 4
1 When therefore Jesus knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,
१येशू योहानापेक्षा अधिक शिष्य करून त्यांचा बाप्तिस्मा करीत आहे हे परूश्यांच्या कानी गेले आहे असे जेव्हा प्रभूला कळले.
2 (though Jesus himself did not baptize, but his disciples, )
२(तरी, येशू स्वतः बाप्तिस्मा करीत नव्हता पण त्याचे शिष्य करीत होते)
3 he left Judaea, and went again to Galilee.
३तेव्हा तो यहूदीया प्रांत सोडून पुन्हा गालील प्रांतात गेला.
4 And he must necessarily pass through Samaria.
४आणि त्यास शोमरोन प्रांतातून जावे लागले.
5 He cometh therefore to a city of Samaria, called Sychar, near the piece of land which Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
५मग तो शोमरोन प्रांतातील सूखार नावाच्या नगरास आला. ते याकोबाने आपला मुलगा योसेफ याला दिलेल्या शेताजवळ होते.
6 And Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with the journey, was sitting thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour.
६तेथे याकोबाची विहीर होती. म्हणून प्रवासाने दमलेला येशू तसाच त्या विहिरीजवळ बसला, तेव्हा सुमारे दुपारचे बारा वाजले होते.
7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus saith to her, Give me to drink.
७तेथे एक शोमरोनी स्त्री पाणी काढाण्यास आली. येशू तिला म्हणाला, “मला प्यायला दे.”
8 For his disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.
८कारण त्याचे शिष्य गावात अन्न विकत घ्यायला गेले होते.
9 The Samaritan woman saith to him, How is it that thou, who art a Jew, askest drink of me, who am a Samaritan woman? For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.
९तेव्हा ती शोमरोनी स्त्री त्यास म्हणाली, “आपण यहूदी असून माझ्यासारख्या एका शोमरोनी स्त्रीजवळ प्यायला पाणी मागता हे कसे?” कारण यहूदी शोमरोनी लोकांबरोबर कोणतेही व्यवहारीक संबंध ठेवत नव्हते.
10 Jesus answered and said to her, If thou hadst known the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink, thou wouldst have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
१०येशूने तिला उत्तर दिले, “देवाचे दान म्हणजे काय आणि मला प्यायला दे असे तुला म्हणणारा कोण आहे, हे तुला समजले असते तर तू त्याच्याजवळ मागितले असतेस आणि त्याने तुला जिवंत पाणी दिले असते.”
11 The woman saith to him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Whence hast thou the living water?
११ती स्त्री त्यास म्हणाली, “साहेब, पाणी काढायला आपल्याजवळ काही नाही व विहीर तर खोल आहे, मग आपल्याजवळ ते जिवंत पाणी कोठून?
12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his sons, and his cattle?
१२आमचा पूर्वज याकोब याने ही विहीर आम्हास दिली, तो स्वतः, त्याचे पुत्र व त्याची गुरेढोरे हिचे पाणी पीत असत. त्याच्यापेक्षा आपण मोठे आहात काय?”
13 Jesus answered and said to her, Every one that drinketh of this water, will thirst again;
१३येशूने तिला उत्तर दिले, “जो कोणी हे पाणी पिईल त्यास पुन्हा तहान लागेल,
15 The woman saith to him, Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come hither to draw.
१५ती स्त्री त्यास म्हणाली, “साहेब, मला तहान लागू नये व पाणी काढायला मला येथवर येणे भाग पडू नये म्हणून ते पाणी मला द्या.”
16 He saith to her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
१६येशू तिला म्हणाला, “जा, तुझ्या पतीला बोलावून आण.”
17 The woman answered, I have no husband. Jesus saith to her, Thou saidst well, that thou hast no husband.
१७ती स्त्री म्हणाली, “मला पती नाही.” येशूने तिला म्हटले, “तू ठीक बोललीस की, ‘तुला पती नाही;’
18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband; in this thou hast spoken truly.
१८कारण तुला पाच पती होते आणि तुझ्याजवळ आता आहे तो तुझा पती नाही, हे तू खरे बोललीस.”
19 The woman saith to him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
१९ती स्त्री त्यास म्हणाली, “साहेब, आपण संदेष्टे आहात हे आता मला समजले.
20 Our fathers worshipped on this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
२०आमच्या पूर्वजांनी याच डोंगरावर उपासना केली आणि तुम्ही म्हणता की, जिथे उपासना केली पाहिजे ते स्थान यरूशलेम शहरात आहे.”
21 Jesus saith to her, Believe me, woman, the hour is coming, when ye shall neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father.
२१येशू तिला म्हणाला, “मुली, माझ्यावर विश्वास ठेव की अशी घटका येत आहे; तुम्ही या डोंगरावर किव्हा यरूशलेम शहरात पित्याची उपासना करणार नाही,
22 Ye worship that which ye know not; we worship that which we know; for salvation is from the Jews.
२२तुम्ही ज्याला ओळखीत नाही अशाची उपासना करता; आम्हास ठाऊक आहे अशाची उपासना आम्ही करतो, कारण यहूद्यांतूनच तारण आहे.
23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for such worshippers the Father seeketh.
२३तरी खरे उपासक आत्म्याने व खरेपणाने स्वर्गीय पित्याची उपासना करतील अशी वेळ येत आहे, किंबहुना आलीच आहे; कारण आपले उपासक असेच असावेत, अशी पित्याची इच्छा आहे.
24 God is a spirit; and they who worship must worship in spirit and in truth.
२४देव आत्मा आहे; आणि त्याच्या उपासकांनी त्याची उपासना आत्म्याने व खरेपणाने केली पाहिजे.”
25 The woman saith to him, I know that Messiah cometh (who is called Christ); when he hath come, he will tell us all things.
२५ती स्त्री त्यास म्हणाली, “मी जाणते की, मसीहा ज्याला ख्रिस्त म्हणतात तो येणार आहे, हे मला माहित आहे. तो येईल तेव्हा तो सर्व गोष्टी सांगेल.”
26 Jesus saith to her, I who speak to thee am he.
२६येशू तिला म्हणाला, “तुझ्याशी बोलणारा मीच तो आहे.”
27 And upon this his disciples came, and marveled that he was talking with a woman. Yet no one said, What dost thou seek? or, Why dost thou talk with her?
२७इतक्यात त्याचे शिष्य आले आणि तो एका स्त्रीबरोबर बोलत आहे याचे त्यांना आश्चर्य वाटले, तरी कोणी असे म्हणले नाही की, “आपण काय विचारत आहात?” किंवा “आपण तिच्याशी का बोलत आहात?”
28 The woman then left her water-pot, and went away into the city, and saith to the men,
२८ती स्त्री तेव्हा आपला पाण्याचा घडा तेथेच टाकून नगरात गेली आणि लोकांस म्हणाली,
29 Come, see a man who told me all things which I have done. Is this the Christ?
२९“चला, मी केलेले सर्वकाही ज्याने मला सांगितले, तो मनुष्य पाहा, तोच ख्रिस्त असेल काय?”
30 They went out of the city, and came to him.
३०तेव्हा ते नगरातून निघून त्याच्याकडे येऊ लागले.
31 In the mean while the disciples asked him, saying, Rabbi, eat.
३१त्याचे शिष्य त्यास विनंती करून म्हणाले, “रब्बी, काहीतरी खाऊन घ्या.”
32 But he said to them, I have food to eat that ye know not of.
३२पण तो त्यांना म्हणाला, “तुम्हास माहीत नाही असे अन्न माझ्याजवळ खायला आहे.”
33 The disciples therefore said to one another, Hath any one brought him anything to eat?
३३यावरुन शिष्य एकमेकांस म्हणू लागले, “ह्याला कोणी खायला आणून दिले असेल काय?”
34 Jesus saith to them, My food is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
३४येशू त्यांना म्हणाला, “ज्याने मला पाठवले त्याच्या इच्छेप्रमाणे करावे व त्याचे कार्य सिद्धीस न्यावे हेच माझे अन्न आहे.
35 Do ye not say, There are yet four months, and the harvest cometh? Lo! I say to you, lift up your eyes, and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest.
३५अजून चार महिन्यांचा अवकाश आहे, मग कापणी येईल, असे तुम्ही म्हणता की नाही? पाहा, मी तुम्हास म्हणतो, आपली नजर वर करून शेते पाहा; ती कापणीसाठी पांढरी होऊन चुकली आहेत.
36 Already is the reaper receiving wages, and gathering fruit unto everlasting life; that both the sower and the reaper may rejoice together. (aiōnios g166)
३६कापणारा मजुरी मिळवतो व सार्वकालिक जीवनासाठी पीक गोळा करतो; यासाठी की पेरणाऱ्याने व कापणी करणाऱ्यानेही एकत्र आनंद करावा. (aiōnios g166)
37 And herein is fulfilled the true saying, One soweth, and another reapeth.
३७‘एक पेरतो आणि दुसरा कापतो’, अशी जी म्हण आहे ती या बाबतीत खरी आहे.
38 I have sent you to reap that whereon ye have not labored. Others have labored, and ye have entered into their labor.
३८ज्यासाठी तुम्ही कष्ट केले नाहीत ते कापायला मी तुम्हास पाठवले. दुसर्‍यांनी कष्ट केले होते व तुम्ही त्यांच्या कष्टात वाटेकरी झालेले आहात.”
39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in him because of the words of the woman, who testified, He told me all things which I have done.
३९“मी केलेले सर्वकाही त्याने मला सांगितले” अशी साक्ष देणाऱ्या त्या स्त्रीच्या बोलण्यावरून त्या नगरातल्या पुष्कळ शोमरोनी लोकांनी त्याच्यावर विश्वास ठेवला.
40 When therefore the Samaritans came to him, they besought him to remain with them; and he remained there two days.
४०म्हणून शोमरोनी त्याच्याकडे आल्यावर, त्यांनी त्यास आपल्याबरोबर रहायची विनंती केली; मग तो तेथे दोन दिवस राहिला.
41 And many more believed on account of his word;
४१आणखी कितीतरी लोकांनी त्याच्या वचनावरून विश्वास धरला.
42 and said to the woman, No longer do we believe on account of what thou hast told us; for we have ourselves heard him, and know that this is in truth the Saviour of the world.
४२आणि ते त्या स्त्रीला म्हणाले, “आता तुझ्या बोलण्यावरूनच आम्ही विश्वास धरतो असे नाही, कारण आम्ही स्वतः ऐकले आहे व हा खरोखर जगाचा तारणारा आहे, हे आम्हास समजले आहे.”
43 And after the two days he went from that place into Galilee.
४३मग त्या दोन दिवसानंतर, तो तेथून गालील प्रांतात निघून गेला.
44 For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honor in his own country.
४४कारण येशूने स्वतः साक्ष दिली की, संदेष्ट्याला स्वतःच्या देशात मान मिळत नाही.
45 When therefore he came into Galilee, the Galilaeans received him, having seen all that he did in Jerusalem at the feast; for they also went to the feast.
४५म्हणून तो गालील प्रांतात आल्यावर गालीलकरांनी त्याचे स्वागत केले; कारण त्याने सणात यरूशलेम शहरात केलेल्या सर्व गोष्टी त्यांनी पाहिल्या होत्या; कारण तेही सणाला गेले होते.
46 So he came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick, at Capernaum.
४६नंतर तो गालील प्रांतातील काना नगरात पुन्हा आला. तेथे त्याने पाण्याचा द्राक्षरस केला होता. त्या स्थळी कोणीएक अंमलदार होता, त्याचा मुलगा कफर्णहूमात आजारी होता.
47 He, having heard that Jesus had come out of Judaea into Galilee, went to him, and asked him to go down and heal his son; for he was at the point of death.
४७येशू यहूदीया प्रांतातून गालील प्रांतात आला आहे हे ऐकून तो त्याच्याकडे गेला आणि त्याने खाली येऊन आपल्या मुलाला बरे करावे अशी त्याने विनंती केली कारण तो मरायला टेकला होता.
48 Then Jesus said to him, Unless ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.
४८त्यावर येशू त्यास म्हणाला, “तुम्ही चिन्हे आणि अद्भूते बघितल्याशिवाय विश्वास ठेवणारच नाही.”
49 The nobleman saith to him, Sir, come down before my child die.
४९तो अंमलदार त्यास म्हणाला, “प्रभूजी, माझे मूल मरण्यापूर्वी आपण खाली येण्याची कृपा करा.”
50 Jesus saith to him, Go; thy son liveth. The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and went away.
५०येशू त्यास म्हणाला, “जा, तुमचा मुलगा वाचला आहे.” तेव्हा तो मनुष्य, त्यास येशूने म्हटलेल्या वचनावर विश्वास ठेवून, आपल्या मार्गाने निघून गेला.
51 And as he was now going down, the servants met him, and brought word that his child was living.
५१आणि तो खाली जात असता त्याचे दास त्यास भेटून म्हणाले, “आपला मुलगा वाचला आहे.”
52 Then he inquired of them the hour when he began to mend. And they said to him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.
५२तेव्हा केव्हापासून त्याच्यात सुधारणा होऊ लागली म्हणून त्याने त्यांना प्रश्न केला आणि ते त्यास म्हणाले, “काल, दुपारी एक वाजता त्याचा ताप गेला.”
53 So the father knew that it was in the same hour in which Jesus said to him, Thy son is living. And he himself believed, and his whole house.
५३यावरुन ज्या ताशी येशूने त्यास सांगितले होते की, “तुमचा मुलगा वाचला आहे,” त्याच ताशी हे झाले असे पित्याने ओळखले आणि त्याने स्वतः व त्याच्या सर्व घराण्याने विश्वास ठेवला.
54 This again, a second sign, Jesus wrought, when he had come out of Judaea into Galilee.
५४येशू यहूदीया प्रांतातून गालील प्रांतात आल्यावर त्याने पुन्हा जे दुसरे चिन्ह केले ते हे.
