< John 4 >
1 When therefore Jesus knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,
Jesus el etu lah mwet Pharisee elos lohng tuh pus mwet el baptaisela, oayapa pus mwet tuma lutlut lal lukel John.
2 (though Jesus himself did not baptize, but his disciples, )
(Pwayeiya uh, Jesus sifacna el tiana baptaisela kutena mwet. Mwet tumal lutlut mukena pa baptaisi mwet.)
3 he left Judaea, and went again to Galilee.
Ouinge ke Jesus el lohng ma fwack inge, el fahsr liki acn Judea ac som nu Galilee.
4 And he must necessarily pass through Samaria.
Ke el folok nu Galilee, el enenu in fahsr sasla acn Samaria.
5 He cometh therefore to a city of Samaria, called Sychar, near the piece of land which Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
Na el sun sie siti srisrik in Samaria pangpang Sychar, ma apkuran nu ke ipin acn se ma Jacob el tuh sang lal Joseph, wen natul.
6 And Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with the journey, was sitting thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour.
Lufin kof lal Jacob oan we, ac Jesus el pituki siska ke sripen el totola ke fahsr lal.
7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus saith to her, Give me to drink.
Sie mutan Samaria el tuku in ut kof, ac Jesus el fahk nu sel, “Ase nimuk kutu kof an.”
8 For his disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.
(Mwet tumal lutlut elos som tari in moul mongo in siti uh.)
9 The Samaritan woman saith to him, How is it that thou, who art a Jew, askest drink of me, who am a Samaritan woman? For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.
Mutan sac fahk, “Kom sie mwet Jew, a nga mwet Samaria se — na fuka tuh kom ku in ngusr kof sik kom in nim?” (Mwet Jew tia ku in orekmakin ahlu ma mwet Samaria orekmakin.)
10 Jesus answered and said to her, If thou hadst known the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink, thou wouldst have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
Jesus el fahk, “Kom tia etu ke mwe sang ma God El akoo in sot nu sum, ac kom tia pac etu lah su siyuk mwe nim sum. Kom funu etu, kom lukun siyuk sik ac nga sot nu sum kof in moul.”
11 The woman saith to him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Whence hast thou the living water?
Kom ac eis kof in moul an fuka?
12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his sons, and his cattle?
13 Jesus answered and said to her, Every one that drinketh of this water, will thirst again;
14 but whoever drinketh of the water that I will give him, will never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become within him a well of water springing up to everlasting life. (aiōn , aiōnios )

15 The woman saith to him, Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come hither to draw.
Ac mutan sac fahk, “Leum se, use nimuk kutu kof sacn! Na nga fah tia sifilpa malu, ac nga fah tia enenu in tuku nu inse inge in ut kof.”
16 He saith to her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.
Jesus el fahk nu sel, “Fahla solama mukul tomom an, na komtal foloko nu yuruk.”
17 The woman answered, I have no husband. Jesus saith to her, Thou saidst well, that thou hast no husband.
Ac mutan sac fahk, “Wangin mukul tumuk.” Jesus el fahk, “Pwaye fahk lom an lah wangin mukul tomom.
18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband; in this thou hast spoken truly.
Kom tuh payuk sin mukul limekosr, ac mukul se kom muta yoro inge tia ma tomom. Kom kaskas pwaye nu sik.”
19 The woman saith to him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.
20 Our fathers worshipped on this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
Mwet matu tumuk meet ah elos tuh alu nu sin God fineol soko inge, a kowos mwet Jew fahk mu Jerusalem mukena pa acn se ma fal mwet uh in alu nu sin God we.”
21 Jesus saith to her, Believe me, woman, the hour is coming, when ye shall neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father.
Jesus el fahk nu sel, “Mutan, lulalfongiyu, mweyen pacl se ac tuku ke mwet fah tia alu nu sin Papa fineol soko inge ku in Jerusalem.
22 Ye worship that which ye know not; we worship that which we know; for salvation is from the Jews.
Kowos mwet Samaria tia arulana etu lah su kowos alu nu se, tusruktu kut mwet Jew etu lah su kut alu nu se, mweyen molela lun God nu sin mwet uh ac tuku ke mwet Jew.
23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for such worshippers the Father seeketh.
Tusruktu pacl se ac tuku, aok tuku tari, ke mwet alu pwaye elos ac kolyuk ke ngun in alu nu sin Papa fal nu ke ma pwaye. Pa inge elos su Papa El suk in alu nu sel.
24 God is a spirit; and they who worship must worship in spirit and in truth.
God El Ngun, ac ku lun Ngun lal mukena pa oru mwet uh in alu nu sel ke pwaye.”
25 The woman saith to him, I know that Messiah cometh (who is called Christ); when he hath come, he will tell us all things.
26 Jesus saith to her, I who speak to thee am he.
27 And upon this his disciples came, and marveled that he was talking with a woman. Yet no one said, What dost thou seek? or, Why dost thou talk with her?
In pacl sac mwet tumal lutlut lun Jesus elos foloko, ac elos arulana lut in liye lah el kaskas nu sin mutan se.
28 The woman then left her water-pot, and went away into the city, and saith to the men,
Na mutan sac filiya sufa in kof lal ac folokla nu in siti uh, ac fahk nu sin mwet we,
29 Come, see a man who told me all things which I have done. Is this the Christ?
“Fahsru liye mwet se su fahkma nu sik ma nukewa nga oru meet ah. Ya acnu tia el pa Christ?”
30 They went out of the city, and came to him.
31 In the mean while the disciples asked him, saying, Rabbi, eat.
In pacl sac, mwet lutlut elos kwafe sin Jesus, “Mwet Luti, eiswin kutu mwe mongo uh!”
32 But he said to them, I have food to eat that ye know not of.
A el topuk ac fahk nu selos, “Oasr mwe mongo nak ma kowos tia etu kac.”
33 The disciples therefore said to one another, Hath any one brought him anything to eat?
Ouinge mwet tumal lutlut elos mutawauk in asiyuki inmasrlolos sifacna, “Ya oasr mwet use mwe mongo nu yorol?”
34 Jesus saith to them, My food is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
Jesus el fahk nu selos, “Mwe mongo nak pa in akos ma lungse lun El su supweyume, ac in aksafye orekma El ase nu sik in oru.
35 Do ye not say, There are yet four months, and the harvest cometh? Lo! I say to you, lift up your eyes, and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest.
Oasr soakas se lowos ma fahk mu, ‘Malem akosr lula na pacl in kosrani.’ Tusruktu nga fahk nu suwos, ngetla liye imae akwoya. Fahko kac matula inge, ac akola nu ke kosrani!
36 Already is the reaper receiving wages, and gathering fruit unto everlasting life; that both the sower and the reaper may rejoice together.
37 And herein is fulfilled the true saying, One soweth, and another reapeth.
Tuh soakas sac pwaye ma fahk mu, ‘Sie mwet yukwiya, ac sie pacna mwet fah kosrani.’
38 I have sent you to reap that whereon ye have not labored. Others have labored, and ye have entered into their labor.
Nga supwekowosla in eisani fahko in sie ima ma kowos tia orekma kac. Kutena mwet tuh orekma kac, a kowos eis woiyen orekma lalos.”
39 And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in him because of the words of the woman, who testified, He told me all things which I have done.
Mwet puspis sin mwet Samaria in siti sac lulalfongi ke Jesus ke sripen mutan sac fahk, “El fahkma nu sik ma nukewa su nga tuh oru meet ah.”
40 When therefore the Samaritans came to him, they besought him to remain with them; and he remained there two days.
Ouinge ke mwet Samaria elos tuku nu yurin Jesus, elos kwafe sel elan muta yorolos, na el muta we len luo.
41 And many more believed on account of his word;
Mwet puspis wi pac lulalfongi ke sripen fahkak lal,
42 and said to the woman, No longer do we believe on account of what thou hast told us; for we have ourselves heard him, and know that this is in truth the Saviour of the world.
ac elos fahk nu sin mutan sac, “Inge kut lulalfongi, tia ke sripen ma kom fahk, a ke sripen kut sifacna lohngol, ac kut etu lah pwaye, el pa Mwet Lango lun faclu.”
43 And after the two days he went from that place into Galilee.
Tukun Jesus el muta we ke len luo, el mukuiyak ac som nu Galilee.
44 For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honor in his own country.
El tuh sifacna fahk, “Sie mwet palu el tia akfulatyeyuk in facl sel sifacna.”
45 When therefore he came into Galilee, the Galilaeans received him, having seen all that he did in Jerusalem at the feast; for they also went to the feast.
Ke el sun acn Galilee, mwet in acn sac paingul mweyen elos wi som nu ke Kufwen Alukela se ma orek Jerusalem, ac elos tuh liye ma nukewa ma el oru ke pacl in kufwa sac.
46 So he came again into Cana of Galilee, where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick, at Capernaum.
Toko Jesus el folokla nu Cana in Galilee, acn se ma el tuh ekulla kof nu ke wain we. Oasr sie mwet fulat lun government tuh muta we su wen se natul mas in acn Capernaum.
47 He, having heard that Jesus had come out of Judaea into Galilee, went to him, and asked him to go down and heal his son; for he was at the point of death.
48 Then Jesus said to him, Unless ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.
Jesus el fahk nu sel, “Kowos fin tia liye orekma usrnguk ku mwenmen, kowos fah tia lulalfong.”
49 The nobleman saith to him, Sir, come down before my child die.
Na mwet sac fahk, “Leum, fahsru wiyu meet liki tulik se nutik ah misa.”
50 Jesus saith to him, Go; thy son liveth. The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and went away.
Jesus el fahk nu sel, “Fahsrot, wen nutum el ac moul na!” Mwet sac lulalfongi kas lun Jesus ac el som.
51 And as he was now going down, the servants met him, and brought word that his child was living.
Ke el srakna fahsr inkanek uh, mwet kulansap lal ah sonol ac fahk nu sel, “Wen nutum el kwela!”
52 Then he inquired of them the hour when he began to mend. And they said to him, Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.
El siyuk selos lah ac pacl su wen se natul ah kwela, ac elos topuk, “Fol lal ah wanginla lukel ke ao se ma tafun len tok ekea.”
53 So the father knew that it was in the same hour in which Jesus said to him, Thy son is living. And he himself believed, and his whole house.
Na papa sac esamak lah ac ao sac pacna pa Jesus el fahkang nu sel mu, “Wen nutum el ac moul na.” Ouinge el, ac sou lal nukewa lulalfongila.
54 This again, a second sign, Jesus wrought, when he had come out of Judaea into Galilee.
