John 3
1 And there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.
நிகதி³மநாமா யிஹூதீ³யாநாம் அதி⁴பதி: பி²ரூஸீ² க்ஷணதா³யாம்’
2 This man came to him by night, and said to him, Rabbi, we know that thou hast come as a teacher from God; for no one can do these signs which thou doest, unless God be with him.
யீஸௌ²ரப்⁴யர்ணம் ஆவ்ரஜ்ய வ்யாஹார்ஷீத், ஹே கு³ரோ ப⁴வாந் ஈஸ்²வராத்³ ஆக³த் ஏக உபதே³ஷ்டா, ஏதத்³ அஸ்மாபி⁴ர்ஜ்ஞாயதே; யதோ ப⁴வதா யாந்யாஸ்²சர்ய்யகர்ம்மாணி க்ரியந்தே பரமேஸ்²வரஸ்ய ஸாஹாய்யம்’ விநா கேநாபி தத்தத்கர்ம்மாணி கர்த்தும்’ ந ஸ²க்யந்தே|
3 Jesus answered and said to him, Truly, truly do I say to thee, Unless a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
ததா³ யீஸு²ருத்தரம்’ த³த்தவாந் தவாஹம்’ யதா²ர்த²தரம்’ வ்யாஹராமி புநர்ஜந்மநி ந ஸதி கோபி மாநவ ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய ராஜ்யம்’ த்³ரஷ்டும்’ ந ஸ²க்நோதி|
4 Nicodemus saith to him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter his mother's womb a second time, and be born?
ததோ நிகதீ³ம: ப்ரத்யவோசத் மநுஜோ வ்ரு’த்³தோ⁴ பூ⁴த்வா கத²ம்’ ஜநிஷ்யதே? ஸ கிம்’ புந ர்மாத்ரு’ர்ஜட²ரம்’ ப்ரவிஸ்²ய ஜநிதும்’ ஸ²க்நோதி?
5 Jesus answered, Truly, truly do I say to thee, Unless a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of heaven.
யீஸு²ரவாதீ³த்³ யதா²ர்த²தரம் அஹம்’ கத²யாமி மநுஜே தோயாத்மப்⁴யாம்’ புந ர்ந ஜாதே ஸ ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய ராஜ்யம்’ ப்ரவேஷ்டும்’ ந ஸ²க்நோதி|
6 That which is born of the flesh, is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit, is spirit.
மாம்’ஸாத்³ யத் ஜாயதே தந் மாம்’ஸமேவ ததா²த்மநோ யோ ஜாயதே ஸ ஆத்மைவ|
7 Marvel not that I said to thee, Ye must be born again.
யுஷ்மாபி⁴: புந ர்ஜநிதவ்யம்’ மமைதஸ்யாம்’ கதா²யாம் ஆஸ்²சர்யம்’ மா மம்’ஸ்தா²: |
8 The wind bloweth where it will; and thou hearest the sound thereof, but knowest not whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
ஸதா³க³திர்யாம்’ தி³ஸ²மிச்ச²தி தஸ்யாமேவ தி³ஸி² வாதி, த்வம்’ தஸ்ய ஸ்வநம்’ ஸு²ணோஷி கிந்து ஸ குத ஆயாதி குத்ர யாதி வா கிமபி ந ஜாநாஸி தத்³வாத்³ ஆத்மந: ஸகாஸா²த் ஸர்வ்வேஷாம்’ மநுஜாநாம்’ ஜந்ம ப⁴வதி|
9 Nicodemus answered and said to him, How can these things be?
ததா³ நிகதீ³ம: ப்ரு’ஷ்டவாந் ஏதத் கத²ம்’ ப⁴விதும்’ ஸ²க்நோதி?
10 Jesus answered and said to him, Art thou the teacher of Israel, and understandest not these things?
யீஸு²: ப்ரத்யக்தவாந் த்வமிஸ்ராயேலோ கு³ருர்பூ⁴த்வாபி கிமேதாம்’ கதா²ம்’ ந வேத்ஸி?
11 Truly, truly do I say to thee, We speak that which we know, and testify that which we have seen; and ye receive not our testimony.
துப்⁴யம்’ யதா²ர்த²ம்’ கத²யாமி, வயம்’ யத்³ வித்³மஸ்தத்³ வச்ம: யம்’ச்ச பஸ்²யாமஸ்தஸ்யைவ ஸாக்ஷ்யம்’ த³த்³ம: கிந்து யுஷ்மாபி⁴ரஸ்மாகம்’ ஸாக்ஷித்வம்’ ந க்³ரு’ஹ்யதே|
12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how will ye believe if I tell you heavenly things?
ஏதஸ்ய ஸம்’ஸாரஸ்ய கதா²யாம்’ கதி²தாயாம்’ யதி³ யூயம்’ ந விஸ்²வஸித² தர்ஹி ஸ்வர்கீ³யாயாம்’ கதா²யாம்’ கத²ம்’ விஸ்²வஸிஷ்யத²?
13 And no one hath ascended into heaven, but he who came down from heaven, even the Son of man.
ய: ஸ்வர்கே³(அ)ஸ்தி யம்’ ச ஸ்வர்கா³த்³ அவாரோஹத் தம்’ மாநவதநயம்’ விநா கோபி ஸ்வர்க³ம்’ நாரோஹத்|
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of man be lifted up
அபரஞ்ச மூஸா யதா² ப்ராந்தரே ஸர்பம்’ ப்ரோத்தா²பிதவாந் மநுஷ்யபுத்ரோ(அ)பி ததை²வோத்தா²பிதவ்ய: ;
தஸ்மாத்³ ய: கஸ்²சித் தஸ்மிந் விஸ்²வஸிஷ்யதி ஸோ(அ)விநாஸ்²ய: ஸந் அநந்தாயு: ப்ராப்ஸ்யதி| (aiōnios g166)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave the only begotten Son, that every one who believeth in him may not perish, but may have everlasting life. (aiōnios g166)
ஈஸ்²வர இத்த²ம்’ ஜக³த³த³யத யத் ஸ்வமத்³விதீயம்’ தநயம்’ ப்ராத³தா³த் ததோ ய: கஸ்²சித் தஸ்மிந் விஸ்²வஸிஷ்யதி ஸோ(அ)விநாஸ்²ய: ஸந் அநந்தாயு: ப்ராப்ஸ்யதி| (aiōnios g166)
17 For God sent not the Son into the world to condemn the world, but that through him the world might be saved.
ஈஸ்²வரோ ஜக³தோ லோகாந் த³ண்ட³யிதும்’ ஸ்வபுத்ரம்’ ந ப்ரேஷ்ய தாந் பரித்ராதும்’ ப்ரேஷிதவாந்|
18 He that believeth in him is not condemned; he that believeth not hath already been condemned, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
அதஏவ ய: கஸ்²சித் தஸ்மிந் விஸ்²வஸிதி ஸ த³ண்டா³ர்ஹோ ந ப⁴வதி கிந்து ய: கஸ்²சித் தஸ்மிந் ந விஸ்²வஸிதி ஸ இதா³நீமேவ த³ண்டா³ர்ஹோ ப⁴வதி, யத: ஸ ஈஸ்²வரஸ்யாத்³விதீயபுத்ரஸ்ய நாமநி ப்ரத்யயம்’ ந கரோதி|
19 And this is the condemnation, that the light hath come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their deeds were evil.
ஜக³தோ மத்⁴யே ஜ்யோதி: ப்ராகாஸ²த கிந்து மநுஷ்யாணாம்’ கர்ம்மணாம்’ த்³ரு’ஷ்டத்வாத் தே ஜ்யோதிஷோபி திமிரே ப்ரீயந்தே ஏததே³வ த³ண்ட³ஸ்ய காரணாம்’ ப⁴வதி|
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, and cometh not to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
ய: குகர்ம்ம கரோதி தஸ்யாசாரஸ்ய த்³ரு’ஷ்டத்வாத் ஸ ஜ்யோதிர்ரூ’தீயித்வா தந்நிகடம்’ நாயாதி;
21 But he that doeth the truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
கிந்து ய: ஸத்கர்ம்ம கரோதி தஸ்ய ஸர்வ்வாணி கர்ம்மாணீஸ்²வரேண க்ரு’தாநீதி ஸதா² ப்ரகாஸ²தே தத³பி⁴ப்ராயேண ஸ ஜ்யோதிஷ: ஸந்நிதி⁴ம் ஆயாதி|
22 After these things Jesus and his disciples came into the land of Judaea; and there he remained with them, and baptized.
தத: பரம் யீஸு²: ஸி²ஷ்யை: ஸார்த்³த⁴ம்’ யிஹூதீ³யதே³ஸ²ம்’ க³த்வா தத்ர ஸ்தி²த்வா மஜ்ஜயிதும் ஆரப⁴த|
23 And John also was baptizing in AEnon, near Salim, because there was much water there; and they came, and were baptized.
ததா³ ஸா²லம் நக³ரஸ்ய ஸமீபஸ்தா²யிநி ஐநந் க்³ராமே ப³ஹுதரதோயஸ்தி²தேஸ்தத்ர யோஹந் அமஜ்ஜயத் ததா² ச லோகா ஆக³த்ய தேந மஜ்ஜிதா அப⁴வந்|
24 For John was not yet thrown into prison.
ததா³ யோஹந் காராயாம்’ ந ப³த்³த⁴: |
25 Then there arose a question on the part of John's disciples with a Jew about purifying.
அபரஞ்ச ஸா²சகர்ம்மணி யோஹாந: ஸி²ஷ்யை: ஸஹ யிஹூதீ³யலோகாநாம்’ விவாதே³ ஜாதே, தே யோஹந: ஸம்’ந்நிதி⁴ம்’ க³த்வாகத²யந்,
26 And they came to John, and said to him, Rabbi, he who was with thee beyond the Jordan, to whom thou hast borne witness, behold, he baptizeth, and all men are going to him.
ஹே கு³ரோ யர்த்³த³நநத்³யா: பாரே ப⁴வதா ஸார்த்³த⁴ம்’ ய ஆஸீத் யஸ்மிம்’ஸ்²ச ப⁴வாந் ஸாக்ஷ்யம்’ ப்ரத³தா³த் பஸ்²யது ஸோபி மஜ்ஜயதி ஸர்வ்வே தஸ்ய ஸமீபம்’ யாந்தி ச|
27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, unless it be given him from heaven.
ததா³ யோஹந் ப்ரத்யவோசத்³ ஈஸ்²வரேண ந த³த்தே கோபி மநுஜ: கிமபி ப்ராப்தும்’ ந ஸ²க்நோதி|
28 Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I was sent before that man.
அஹம்’ அபி⁴ஷிக்தோ ந ப⁴வாமி கிந்து தத³க்³ரே ப்ரேஷிதோஸ்மி யாமிமாம்’ கதா²ம்’ கதி²தவாநாஹம்’ தத்ர யூயம்’ ஸர்வ்வே ஸாக்ஷிண: ஸ்த²|
29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice. This my joy then hath become full.
யோ ஜந: கந்யாம்’ லப⁴தே ஸ ஏவ வர: கிந்து வரஸ்ய ஸந்நிதௌ⁴ த³ண்டா³யமாநம்’ தஸ்ய யந்மித்ரம்’ தேந வரஸ்ய ஸ²ப்³தே³ ஸ்²ருதே(அ)தீவாஹ்லாத்³யதே மமாபி தத்³வத்³ ஆநந்த³ஸித்³தி⁴ர்ஜாதா|
30 He must increase, but I must decrease.
தேந க்ரமஸோ² வர்த்³தி⁴தவ்யம்’ கிந்து மயா ஹ்ஸிதவ்யம்’|
31 He that cometh from above is above all. He that is from the earth is earthly, and speaketh earthly things; he that cometh from heaven
ய ஊர்த்⁴வாதா³க³ச்ச²த் ஸ ஸர்வ்வேஷாம்’ முக்²யோ யஸ்²ச ஸம்’ஸாராத்³ உத³பத்³யத ஸ ஸாம்’ஸாரிக: ஸம்’ஸாரீயாம்’ கதா²ஞ்ச கத²யதி யஸ்து ஸ்வர்கா³தா³க³ச்ச²த் ஸ ஸர்வ்வேஷாம்’ முக்²ய: |
32 testifieth what he hath seen and heard; and no one receiveth his testimony.
ஸ யத³பஸ்²யத³ஸ்²ரு’ணோச்ச தஸ்மிந்நேவ ஸாக்ஷ்யம்’ த³தா³தி ததா²பி ப்ராயஸ²: கஸ்²சித் தஸ்ய ஸாக்ஷ்யம்’ ந க்³ரு’ஹ்லாதி;
33 He that hath received his testimony hath set his seal that God is true.
கிந்து யோ க்³ரு’ஹ்லாதி ஸ ஈஸ்²வரஸ்ய ஸத்யவாதி³த்வம்’ முத்³ராங்கி³தம்’ கரோதி|
34 For he whom God sent speaketh the words of God; for he giveth not the Spirit by measure.
ஈஸ்²வரேண ய: ப்ரேரித: ஸஏவ ஈஸ்²வரீயகதா²ம்’ கத²யதி யத ஈஸ்²வர ஆத்மாநம்’ தஸ்மை அபரிமிதம் அத³தா³த்|
35 The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
பிதா புத்ரே ஸ்நேஹம்’ க்ரு’த்வா தஸ்ய ஹஸ்தே ஸர்வ்வாணி ஸமர்பிதவாந்|
36 He that believeth in the Son hath everlasting life; and he that disobeyeth the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him. (aiōnios g166)
