John 21
1 After these things he manifested himself again to the disciples at the lake of Tiberias. And he manifested himself in this manner.
Después de esto, Jesús apareció otra vez a los discípulos junto al mar de Tiberias. Apareció de esta manera:
2 There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana of Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples.
Estaban juntos Simón Pedro, Tomás el Dídimo, Natanael el de Caná de Galilea, los [hijos] de Zebedeo y otros dos de sus discípulos.
3 Simon Peter saith to them, I am going a fishing. They say to him, We also will go with thee. They set out and went into the boat, and on that night caught nothing.
Simón Pedro les dijo: Voy a pescar. Le respondieron: Vamos también contigo. Entraron en la barca, pero aquella noche nada pescaron.
4 But when the morning was coming on, Jesus stood on the shore; but the disciples did not know that it was Jesus.
Al amanecer, Jesús apareció en la playa. Sin embargo, los discípulos no sabían que era Jesús.
5 Then Jesus saith to them, Children, have ye any fish? They answered him, No.
Entonces Jesús les preguntó: Hijitos, ¿tienen algo para comer? Le respondieron: No.
6 And he said to them, Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and ye will find. And they cast it, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of the fishes.
Él les dijo: Echen la red a la derecha de la barca y hallarán. [La] echaron y ya no podían arrastrarla por la gran cantidad de peces [que contenía].
7 Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith to Peter, It is the Lord. Simon Peter therefore, hearing that it was the Lord, girded on his outer garment, for he had on nothing but his under one, and threw himself into the lake.
Entonces el discípulo a quien Jesús amaba, dijo a Pedro: ¡Es el Señor! Cuando Simón Pedro oyó: Es el Señor, se ató el manto externo, pues se había despojado de él, y se lanzó al mar.
8 And the other disciples came in the boat, (for they were not far from land, only about two hundred cubits, ) dragging the net with the fishes.
Los otros discípulos llegaron en la barquilla y arrastraban la red de los peces, pues estaban como a 90 metros de la tierra.
9 When therefore they had come to land, they see a fire of coals there, and a fish lying thereon, and bread.
Al desembarcar, vieron brasas con un pescado encima, y pan.
10 Jesus saith to them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught.
Jesús les ordenó: Traigan unos peces de los que acaban de pescar.
11 Simon Peter therefore went on board, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, a hundred and fifty three; and though there were so many, the net was not broken.
Simón Pedro subió y arrastró la red llena de grandes peces a tierra. Eran 153. Aunque eran tantos, la red no se rompió.
12 Jesus saith to them, Come and breakfast. But no one of the disciples durst ask him, Who art thou? knowing that it was the Lord.
Jesús les dijo: Vengan, coman. Al entender que era el Señor, ninguno de los discípulos se atrevía a preguntarle: ¿Quién eres Tú?
13 Jesus cometh and taketh the bread, and giveth them, and the fish likewise.
Entonces Jesús tomó el pan y el pescado y les dio.
14 This is now the third time that Jesus manifested himself to his disciples, after he had risen from the dead.
Ésta fue la tercera vez que Jesús se manifestó a los discípulos después de ser resucitado de entre [los] muertos.
15 So when they had breakfasted, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of John, lovest thou me more than these? He saith to him, Yea, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee. He saith to him, Feed my lambs.
Cuando desayunaron Jesús le preguntó a Simón Pedro: Simón, [hijo] de Juan, ¿me amas más que éstos? Le respondió: Sí, Señor, Tú sabes que te tengo afecto. Le dijo: Apacienta mis corderos.
16 He saith to him again a second time, Simon, son of John, lovest thou me? He saith to him, Yea, Lord, thou knowest that I love thee. He saith to him, Tend my sheep.
Otra vez le preguntó: Simón, [hijo] de Juan, ¿me amas? Le respondió: Sí, Señor, Tú sabes que te tengo afecto. Le dijo: Pastorea mis ovejas.
17 He saith to him the third time, Simon, son of John, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said to him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith to him, Feed my sheep.
Le preguntó la tercera vez: Simón, [hijo] de Juan, ¿me tienes afecto? Pedro se entristeció porque le preguntó la tercera vez: ¿me tienes afecto? Y le respondió: Señor, Tú sabes que te tengo afecto. Tú conoces todas las cosas. Le dijo: Apacienta mis ovejas.
18 Truly, truly do I say to thee, when thou wast young, thou didst gird thyself, and walk whither thou wouldst; but when thou hast grown old, thou wilt stretch forth thy hands, and another will gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldst not.
En verdad, en verdad te digo: Cuando eras más joven, te vestías y caminabas a donde querías. Pero cuando envejezcas, extenderás tus manos, te vestirá otro y te llevará a donde no quieres.
19 This he said, signifying by what manner of death he was to glorify God. And having thus spoken, he saith to him, Follow me.
Esto dijo para dar a entender cómo glorificaría a Dios con su muerte. Luego le ordenó: Sígueme.
20 Peter, turning round, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following, —who also at supper leaned back on his breast, and said, Lord, who is he that betrayeth thee?—
Pedro se volvió y vio que los seguía el discípulo a quien Jesús amaba, el que en la cena se reclinó a su lado y preguntó: Señor, ¿quién es el que te entrega?
21 Peter, seeing him, saith to Jesus, Lord, and how will it be with him?
Entonces al verlo Pedro, le preguntó a Jesús: Señor, ¿y qué [dices] de éste?
22 Jesus saith to him, If it be my will that he remain till I come, what is it to thee? Follow thou me.
Jesús le contestó: Si lo quiero dejar hasta que venga, ¿qué te importa? Sígueme tú.
23 This report therefore went abroad among the brethren, that this disciple was not to die. And yet Jesus did not say to him, He will not die; but, If it be my will that he remain till I come, what is it to thee?
Entre los hermanos salió el comentario que ese discípulo no moriría. Pero Jesús no le dijo: No morirás, sino: Si lo quiero dejar hasta que venga.
24 This is the disciple who testifieth of these things, and hath written these things; and we know that his testimony is true.
Éste es el discípulo que da testimonio de estas cosas y quien las escribió. Y sabemos que su testimonio es verdadero.
También Jesús hizo muchas otras cosas, las cuales, si se escribieran una por una, supongo que en el mundo no cabrían los rollos escritos.
