John 2
1 And on the third day there was a marriage-feast in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there.
Και την τρίτην ημέραν έγεινε γάμος εν Κανά της Γαλιλαίας, και ήτο η μήτηρ του Ιησού εκεί.
2 And both Jesus and his disciples were invited to the feast.
Προσεκλήθη δε και ο Ιησούς και οι μαθηταί αυτού εις τον γάμον.
3 And they had no wine, because the wine of the feast had failed. Then the mother of Jesus saith to him, There is no wine.
Και επειδή έλειψεν ο οίνος, λέγει η μήτηρ του Ιησού προς αυτόν· Οίνον δεν έχουσι.
4 Jesus saith to her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? My hour is not yet come.
Λέγει προς αυτήν ο Ιησούς· Τι είναι μεταξύ εμού και σου, γύναι; δεν ήλθεν έτι η ώρα μου.
5 His mother saith to the servants, Whatever he saith to you, do it.
Λέγει η μήτηρ αυτού προς τους υπηρέτας· ό, τι σας λέγει, κάμετε.
6 Now there were set there six water-pots of stone, in conformity with the Jews' custom of purifying, containing two or three firkins apiece.
Ήσαν δε εκεί υδρίαι λίθιναι εξ κείμεναι κατά το έθος του καθαρισμού των Ιουδαίων, χωρούσαι εκάστη δύο ή τρία μέτρα.
7 Jesus saith to them, Fill the water-pots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
Λέγει προς αυτούς ο Ιησούς· Γεμίσατε τας υδρίας ύδατος. Και εγέμισαν αυτάς έως άνω.
8 And he saith to them, Draw out now, and bear it to the master of the feast. And they bore it.
Και λέγει προς αυτούς· Αντλήσατε τώρα και φέρετε προς τον αρχιτρίκλινον. Και έφεραν.
9 But when the master of the feast tasted the water that had been made wine, not knowing whence it was, but the servants who drew the water knew, he called the bridegroom
Καθώς δε ο αρχιτρίκλινος εγεύθη το ύδωρ εις οίνον μεταβεβλημένον και δεν ήξευρε πόθεν είναι, οι υπηρέται όμως ήξευρον οι αντλήσαντες το ύδωρ φωνάζει τον νυμφίον ο αρχιτρίκλινος
10 and said to him, Every man setteth on the good wine first, and when men have drunk freely, that which is worse. Thou hast kept the good wine until now.
και λέγει προς αυτόν· Πας άνθρωπος πρώτον τον καλόν οίνον βάλλει, και αφού πίωσι πολύ, τότε τον κατώτερον· συ εφύλαξας τον καλόν οίνον έως τώρα.
11 This beginning of the signs Jesus made in Cana of Galilee, and manifested his glory; and his disciples believed in him.
Ταύτην την αρχήν των θαυμάτων έκαμεν ο Ιησούς εν Κανά της Γαλιλαίας και εφανέρωσε την δόξαν αυτού, και επίστευσαν εις αυτόν οι μαθηταί αυτού.
12 After this he went down to Capernaum, he and his mother, and his brothers, and his disciples; and they abode there not many days.
Μετά τούτο κατέβη εις Καπερναούμ αυτός και η μήτηρ αυτού και οι αδελφοί αυτού και οι μαθηταί αυτού, και εκεί έμειναν ουχ πολλάς ημέρας.
13 And the passover of the Jews was near; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
Επλησίαζε δε το πάσχα των Ιουδαίων, και ανέβη εις Ιεροσόλυμα ο Ιησούς.
14 And he found in the temple those who sold oxen, and sheep, and doves, and the money-changers sitting.
Και εύρεν εν τω ιερώ, τους πωλούντας βόας και πρόβατα και περιστεράς, και τους αργυραμοιβούς καθημένους.
15 And having made a scourge of cords, he drove them all out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen; and poured out the money of the exchangers, and overthrew the tables;
Και ποιήσας μάστιγα εκ σχοινίων, εδίωξε πάντας εκ του ιερού και τα πρόβατα και τους βόας, και τα νομίσματα των αργυραμοιβών έχυσε και τας τραπέζας ανέτρεψε,
16 and said to those who sold the doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house a house of merchandise.
και προς τους πωλούντας τας περιστεράς είπε· Σηκώσατε ταύτα εντεύθεν· μη κάμνετε τον οίκον του Πατρός μου οίκον εμπορίου.
17 His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for thy house will consume me.”
Τότε ενεθυμήθησαν οι μαθηταί αυτού ότι είναι γεγραμμένον, Ο ζήλος του οίκου σου με κατέφαγεν.
18 The Jews therefore answered and said to him, What sign dost thou show us, seeing thou doest these things?
Απεκρίθησαν λοιπόν οι Ιουδαίοι και είπον προς αυτόν· Τι σημείον δεικνύεις εις ημάς, διότι κάμνεις ταύτα;
19 Jesus answered and said to them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
Απεκρίθη ο Ιησούς και είπε προς αυτούς· Χαλάσατε τον ναόν τούτον, και διά τριών ημερών θέλω εγείρει αυτόν.
20 Then said the Jews, Forty-six years was this temple in building; and wilt thou raise it up in three days?
Και οι Ιουδαίοι είπον· Εις τεσσαράκοντα και εξ έτη ωκοδομήθη ο ναός ούτος, και συ θέλεις εγείρει αυτόν εις τρεις ημέρας;
21 But he spoke of the temple of his body.
Εκείνος όμως έλεγε περί του ναού του σώματος αυτού.
22 When therefore he had risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this; and they believed the Scripture, and the word which Jesus had spoken.
Ότε λοιπόν ηγέρθη εκ νεκρών, ενεθυμήθησαν οι μαθηταί αυτού ότι τούτο έλεγε προς αυτούς, και επίστευσαν εις την γραφήν και εις τον λόγον, τον οποίον είπεν ο Ιησούς.
23 And when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, at the feast, many believed in his name, when they saw his signs which he wrought.
Και ενώ ήτο εν Ιεροσολύμοις κατά την εορτήν του πάσχα, πολλοί επίστευσαν εις το όνομα αυτού, βλέποντες αυτού τα θαύματα, τα οποία έκαμνεν.
24 But Jesus did not trust himself to them, because he knew all men;
Αυτός δε ο Ιησούς δεν ενεπιστεύετο εις αυτούς, διότι εγνώριζε πάντας,
25 and had no need that any one should testify concerning man; for he himself knew what was in man.
και διότι δεν είχε χρείαν διά να μαρτυρήση τις περί του ανθρώπου· επειδή αυτός εγνώριζε τι ήτο εντός του ανθρώπου.
