John 2
1 And on the third day there was a marriage-feast in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there.
Ja kolmantena päivänä olivat häät Galilean Kaanassa, ja Jesuksen äiti oli siellä;
2 And both Jesus and his disciples were invited to the feast.
Niin Jesus ja hänen opetuslapsensa kutsuttiin myös häihin.
3 And they had no wine, because the wine of the feast had failed. Then the mother of Jesus saith to him, There is no wine.
Ja kun viina puuttui, sanoi Jesuksen äiti hänelle: ei heillä ole viinaa.
4 Jesus saith to her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? My hour is not yet come.
Jesus sanoi hänelle: vaimo! mitä minun on sinun kanssas? ei minun aikani ole vielä tullut.
5 His mother saith to the servants, Whatever he saith to you, do it.
Hänen äitinsä sanoi palvelijoille: mitä hän teille sanoo, se tehkäät.
6 Now there were set there six water-pots of stone, in conformity with the Jews' custom of purifying, containing two or three firkins apiece.
Niin siellä oli kuusi kivistä vesi-astiaa pantuna Juudalaisten puhdistamisen tavan jälkeen, ja kukin veti kaksi eli kolme mittaa.
7 Jesus saith to them, Fill the water-pots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
Jesus sanoi heille: täyttäkäät vesi-astiat vedellä. Ja he täyttivät ne ylen täyteen.
8 And he saith to them, Draw out now, and bear it to the master of the feast. And they bore it.
Ja hän sanoi heille: pankaat nyt sisälle ja viekäät edeskäyvälle. Ja he veivät.
9 But when the master of the feast tasted the water that had been made wine, not knowing whence it was, but the servants who drew the water knew, he called the bridegroom
Mutta kuin edeskäypä maisti sitä vettä, joka viinaksi tullut oli, (eikä tietänyt, kusta se tuli, mutta palveliat tiesivät, jotka veden ammensivat, ) kutsui edeskäypä yljän,
10 and said to him, Every man setteth on the good wine first, and when men have drunk freely, that which is worse. Thou hast kept the good wine until now.
Ja sanoi hänelle: jokainen antaa ensisti hyvää viinaa, ja kuin juovutaan, niin sitte huonompaa: sinä kätkit hyvän viinan tähän asti.
11 This beginning of the signs Jesus made in Cana of Galilee, and manifested his glory; and his disciples believed in him.
Tämä on ensimäinen tunnustähti, jonka Jesus teki Galilean Kaanassa, ja ilmoitti kunniansa. Ja hänen opetuslapsensa uskoivat hänen päällensä.
12 After this he went down to Capernaum, he and his mother, and his brothers, and his disciples; and they abode there not many days.
Sitte meni hän alas Kapernaumiin ja hänen äitinsä ja hänen veljensä ja hänen opetuslapsensa, eikä siellä kauvan viipyneet.
13 And the passover of the Jews was near; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
Ja Juudalaisten pääsiäinen oli läsnä, ja Jesus meni ylös Jerusalemiin,
14 And he found in the temple those who sold oxen, and sheep, and doves, and the money-changers sitting.
Ja löysi templissä istuvan ne, jotka karjaa, lampaita ja kyykyläisiä myyskentelivät, ja vaihettajat.
15 And having made a scourge of cords, he drove them all out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen; and poured out the money of the exchangers, and overthrew the tables;
Ja hän teki ruoskan köysistä, ja ajoi ulos ne kaikki temppelistä ja lampaat ja karjan, ja heitti pois vaihettajain rahat ja maahan kukisti pöydät.
16 and said to those who sold the doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house a house of merchandise.
Ja sanoi niille, jotka kyhkyisiä myivät: viekäät nämät täältä pois ja älkäät tehkö minun Isäni huonetta kauppahuoneeksi.
17 His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for thy house will consume me.”
Mutta hänen opetuslapsensa muistivat kirjoitetuksi: sinun huonees kiivaus on minun syönyt.
18 The Jews therefore answered and said to him, What sign dost thou show us, seeing thou doest these things?
Niin vastasivat Juudalaiset ja sanoivat hänelle: mitä merkkiä sinä meille osoitat, ettäs näitä teet?
19 Jesus answered and said to them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
Jesus vastasi ja sanoi heille: jaottakaat maahan tämä templi, ja minä tahdon sen kolmantena päivänä rakentaa ylös.
20 Then said the Jews, Forty-six years was this temple in building; and wilt thou raise it up in three days?
Niin Juudalaiset sanoivat: tätä templiä on rakennettu kuusiviidettäkymmentä ajastaikaa, ja sinä rakennat sen kolmena päivänä?
21 But he spoke of the temple of his body.
Mutta hän sanoi ruumiinsa templistä.
22 When therefore he had risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this; and they believed the Scripture, and the word which Jesus had spoken.
Kuin hän siis oli kuolleista noussut, muistivat hänen opetuslapsensa hänen sen heille sanoneeksi, ja uskoivat Raamatun ja puheen, minkä Jesus oli puhunut.
23 And when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, at the feast, many believed in his name, when they saw his signs which he wrought.
Mutta kuin hän pääsiäis-juhlapäivänä oli Jerusalemissa, uskoivat monta hänen nimensä päälle, kuin he näkivät ne tunnustähdet mitkä hän teki.
24 But Jesus did not trust himself to them, because he knew all men;
Mutta ei Jesus uskonut itsiänsä heille; sillä hän tunsi heidät kaikki,
25 and had no need that any one should testify concerning man; for he himself knew what was in man.
Ja ei tarvinnut, että joku olis ihmisestä todistanut; sillä hän tiesi, mitä ihmisessä oli.
