John 2
1 And on the third day there was a marriage-feast in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there.
১তৃতীয় দিনের গালীলের কান্না শহরে এক বিয়ে ছিল এবং যীশুর মা সেখানে ছিলেন;
2 And both Jesus and his disciples were invited to the feast.
২আর সেই বিয়েতে যীশুর ও তাঁর শিষ্যদেরও নিমন্ত্রণ হয়েছিল।
3 And they had no wine, because the wine of the feast had failed. Then the mother of Jesus saith to him, There is no wine.
৩যখন আঙ্গুর রস শেষ হয়ে গেল যীশুর মা তাঁকে বললেন, ওদের আঙ্গুর রস নেই।
4 Jesus saith to her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? My hour is not yet come.
৪যীশু তাঁকে বললেন, হে নারী এই বিষয়ে তোমার সঙ্গে আমার কি কাজ আছে? আমার দিন এখনও আসেনি।
5 His mother saith to the servants, Whatever he saith to you, do it.
৫তাঁর মা চাকরদের বললেন, ইনি তোমাদের যা কিছু করতে বলেন তাই কর।
6 Now there were set there six water-pots of stone, in conformity with the Jews' custom of purifying, containing two or three firkins apiece.
৬সেখানে ইহূদি ধর্মের নিয়ম অনুযায়ী বিশুদ্ধ করার জন্য পাথরের ছয়টি জালা বসান ছিল, তার এক একটিতে প্রায় তিন মণ করে জল ধরত।
7 Jesus saith to them, Fill the water-pots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
৭যীশু তাদেরকে বললেন “ঐ সব জালাগুলি জল দিয়ে ভর্তি কর।” সুতরাং তারা সেই পাত্রগুলি কাণায় কাণায় জলে ভর্তি করল।
8 And he saith to them, Draw out now, and bear it to the master of the feast. And they bore it.
৮পরে তিনি সেই চাকরদের বললেন, এখন কিছুটা এখান থেকে তুলে নিয়ে ভোজন কর্তার কাছে নিয়ে যাও। তখন তারা তাই করলো।
9 But when the master of the feast tasted the water that had been made wine, not knowing whence it was, but the servants who drew the water knew, he called the bridegroom
৯সেই আঙ্গুর রস যা জল থেকে করা হয়েছে, ভোজন কর্তা পান করে দেখলেন এবং তা কোথা থেকে নিয়ে আসা হয়েছে তা জানতেন না কিন্তু যে চাকরেরা জল তুলেছিল তারা জানতো তখন ভোজন কর্তা বরকে ডাকলেন
10 and said to him, Every man setteth on the good wine first, and when men have drunk freely, that which is worse. Thou hast kept the good wine until now.
১০এবং তাকে বললেন, সবাই প্রথমে ভালো আঙ্গুর রস পান করতে দেয় এবং পরে যখন সবার পান করা হয়ে যায় তখন প্রথমের থেকে একটু নিম্নমানের আঙ্গুর রস পান করতে দেয়; কিন্তু তুমি ভালো আঙ্গুর রস এখন পর্যন্ত রেখেছ।
11 This beginning of the signs Jesus made in Cana of Galilee, and manifested his glory; and his disciples believed in him.
১১এই ভাবে যীশু গালীল দেশের কান্নাতে এই প্রথম চিহ্ন হিসাবে আশ্চর্য্য কাজ করে নিজের মহিমা প্রকাশ করলেন; তখন তাঁর শিষ্যেরা তাঁকে বিশ্বাস করলেন।
12 After this he went down to Capernaum, he and his mother, and his brothers, and his disciples; and they abode there not many days.
১২এই সব কিছুর পরে তিনি, তাঁর মা ও ভাইয়েরা এবং তাঁর শিষ্যরা কফরনাহূমে নেমে গেলেন এবং সেখানে কিছুদিন থাকলেন।
13 And the passover of the Jews was near; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
১৩ইহূদিদের নিস্তারপর্ব্ব খুব কাছে তখন যীশু যিরূশালেমে গেলেন।
14 And he found in the temple those who sold oxen, and sheep, and doves, and the money-changers sitting.
১৪পরে তিনি মন্দিরের মধ্যে দেখলেন যে লোকে গরু, মেষ ও পায়রা বিক্রি করছে এবং টাকা বদল করার লোকও বসে আছে;
15 And having made a scourge of cords, he drove them all out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen; and poured out the money of the exchangers, and overthrew the tables;
১৫তখন তিনি ঘাস দিয়ে একটা চাবুক তৈরী করলেন এবং সেইটি দিয়ে সব গরু, মেষ ও মানুষদেরকে উপাসনা ঘর থেকে বের করে দিলেন এবং টাকা বদল করার লোকদের টাকা তিনি ছড়িয়ে দিয়ে টেবিলগুলিও উল্টে দিলেন;
16 and said to those who sold the doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house a house of merchandise.
১৬তিনি পায়রা বিক্রেতাদের উদ্দেশ্যে বললেন, “এই জায়গা থেকে এই সব নিয়ে যাও; আমার পিতার গৃহকে ব্যবসার জায়গা বানানো বন্ধ করো।”
17 His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for thy house will consume me.”
১৭তাঁর শিষ্যদের মনে পড়ল যে, পবিত্র শাস্ত্রে লেখা আছে, “তোমার গৃহের উদ্যোগ আমাকে গ্রাস করবে।”
18 The Jews therefore answered and said to him, What sign dost thou show us, seeing thou doest these things?
১৮তখন ইহূদিরা উত্তর দিয়ে যীশুকে বললেন, তুমি আমাদেরকে কি চিহ্ন দেখাবে যে কি ক্ষমতায় এই সব কাজ তুমি করছ?
19 Jesus answered and said to them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
১৯যীশু উত্তর দিয়ে তাদেরকে বললেন, তোমরা এই মন্দির ভেঙে ফেল, আমি তিন দিনের মধ্যে আবার সেটা ওঠাব।
20 Then said the Jews, Forty-six years was this temple in building; and wilt thou raise it up in three days?
২০তখন ইহূদিরা বলল, এই মন্দির তৈরী করতে ছেচল্লিশ বছর লেগেছে আর তুমি কি তিন দিনের মধ্যে সেটা ওঠাবে?
21 But he spoke of the temple of his body.
২১যদিও ঈশ্বরের মন্দির বলতে তিনি নিজের শরীরের কথা বলছিলেন।
22 When therefore he had risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this; and they believed the Scripture, and the word which Jesus had spoken.
২২সুতরাং যখন তিনি মৃতদের মধ্য থেকে উঠলেন তখন তাঁর শিষ্যদের মনে পড়ল যে, তিনি এই কথা আগে বলেছিলেন এবং তাঁরা শাস্ত্রের কথায় এবং যীশুর বলা কথার উপর বিশ্বাস করলেন।
23 And when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, at the feast, many believed in his name, when they saw his signs which he wrought.
২৩তিনি যখন উদ্ধার পর্বের দিন যিরূশালেমে ছিলেন, তখন যে সব অলৌকিক কাজ করেছিলেন, তা দেখে অনেকে তাঁর নামে বিশ্বাস করল।
24 But Jesus did not trust himself to them, because he knew all men;
২৪কিন্তু যীশু নিজে তাদের ওপরে নিজের সম্বন্ধে বিশ্বাস করলেন না, কারণ তিনি সবাইকে জানতেন,
25 and had no need that any one should testify concerning man; for he himself knew what was in man.
২৫এবং কেউ যে মানুষ জাতির সমন্ধে সাক্ষ্য দেয়, এতে তার প্রয়োজন ছিল না; কারণ মানুষ জাতির অন্তরে কি আছে তা তিনি নিজে জানতেন।
