< John 18 >

1 When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples across the brook Kedron, where was a garden, into which he entered with his disciples.
A Yeshu bhakabheleketeje genego, gubhajabhwile na bhaajiganywa bhabho gubhapite kung'ambu lushi lwa Kedoloni. Kweneko jashinkupagwa bhushitani, a Yeshu gubhajinjile mwenemo na bhaajiganywa bhabho.
2 And Judas also, his betrayer, knew the place; because Jesus often resorted thither with his disciples.
A Yuda bhaatendebhushe a Yeshu bhapamanyi penepo, pabha a Yeshu bhatendaga kwenda kweneko papagwinji na bhaajiganywa bhabho.
3 Judas then, having received the band of soldiers, and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with torches and lanterns and weapons.
4 But Jesus, knowing all things that were coming upon him, went forth, and saith to them, Whom do ye seek?
Bhai a Yeshu bhalinkugamanya gowe gapinga kwaakoposhela, gubhakoposhele nikwaabhuyanga, “Junkunoleyanga gani?”
5 They answered him, Jesus the Nazarene. Jesus saith to them, I am he. Now Judas also, his betrayer, was standing with them.
Nabhalabhonji gubhaajangwilenje, “A Yeshu Bhanashaleti!” A Yeshu gubhaalugulilenje, “Nne ni nne.” A Yuda bhaatendebhwishe bhala, na bhalabho pubhaliji bhajimi nabhonji.
6 As soon then as he said to them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.
Bhai, a Yeshu bhakaalugulilanjeje kuti, “Nne ni nne” gubhanokolenenje kubhuja nnyuma gubhaagwilenje pai.
7 Again therefore he asked them, Whom do ye seek? And they said, Jesus the Nazarene.
A Yeshu gubhaabhushiyenje kabhili, “Junkunnoleyanga gani?” Gubhaajangwilenje, “A Yeshu Bhanashaleti!”
8 Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he. If therefore ye are seeking me, let these men go.
A Yeshu gubhaalugulilenje, “Nimmalanjilenje kuti, Nne ni nne. Bhai monaga nkunoleyanga nne, mwaalekanje bhanganyabha bhaijendanganile.”
9 That the saying might be fulfilled which he spoke, “Of those whom thou hast given me, I have lost none.”
Bhashinkubheleketa genego nkupinga gatimilile malobhe gubhabhelekete kuti, “Bhummbele bhala nangaang'obhiya nkali jumo.”
10 Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and smote the servant of the high-priest, and cut off his right ear. And the servant's name was Malchus.
Bhai, a Shimoni Petili bhashinkukola upanga, gubhaguolomwele nikunkata lishikio lya kunkono nnilo, lika ntumishi jwa bhakulungwa bhaabhishila. Jwene ntumishijo pashemwaga Malikushi.
11 Jesus therefore said to Peter, Put up the sword into the sheath. The cup which the Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?
Bhai, a Yeshu gubhaabhalanjile a Petili, “Mmujenago upanga gwenu nnigonelo lyakwe. Bhuli, ngunapapile shikombe sha mboteko shibhambele Atati?”
12 So the band and the captain, and the officers of the Jews, took Jesus and bound him,
Bhai likundi lya manjola lila na nkulungwa jwabhonji jula na bhalinda bha Bhayaudi bhala gubhaakamwilenje a Yeshu, gubhaatabhilenje.
13 and carried him to Annas first; for he was father-in-law of Caiaphas, who was high-priest that year.
Gubhatandubhenje kwapeleka kwa a Anashi, akwebhabho a Kayapa, bhaliji Bhakulungwa Bhabhishila shene shakasho.
14 And it was Caiaphas who counseled the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.
A Kayapa ni bhebhala bhaalugulilenje Bhayaudi kuti mbaya mundu jumo awe kwa ligongo lya bhandunji.
15 And Simon Peter and the other disciple followed Jesus. That disciple was an acquaintance of the high-priest, and went with Jesus into the court of the palace of the high-priest.
A Shimoni Petili na nkujiganywa juna gubhaakagwilenje a Yeshu. Jwene nkujiganywajo atendaga manyika na Bhakulungwa Bhabhishila, kwa nneyo gwajinjile palukumbi lwa Bhakulungwa Bhabhishila lubhajinjile a Yeshu.
16 But Peter was standing outside at the door. The other disciple therefore, who was an acquaintance of the high-priest, went out and spoke to her that kept the door, and brought in Peter.
Ikabheje a Petili pubhajimi palanga, tome na nnango. Bhai, bhaajiganywa bhana bhamanyishe na Bhakulungwa Bhabhishila bhala gubhakopweshe palanga nikunguluka na jwankongwe nninda jwa pannango, akwaajinjiyaga a Petili nkati.
17 Then the maid-servant that kept the door saith to Peter, Art thou also one of this man's disciples? He saith, I am not.
Bhai bhakongwe bhalinda bha nnango bhala gubhaabhushiye a Petili, “Bhuli, mmwe nkumbi gumo gwa bhaajiganywa bha bhene bhandubha?” A Petili gubhashite, “Nngabha nne!”
18 And the servants and the officers were standing there, having made a fire of coals, for it was cold, and were warming themselves; and Peter was standing with them and warming himself.
Bhatumwa na bhalinda bhala bhashinkukumbanyanga moto gwa jota pabha jishinkupagwa mmbepo, gubhatemingene nkujota moto. Na bhalabho a Petili gubhajimi pamo nabhonji nkujota moto.
19 The high-priest then asked Jesus about his disciples, and about his teaching.
Bhai Bhakulungwa Bhabhishila gubhaabhushiye a Yeshu ga bhaajiganywa bhabho na ga majiganyo gabho.
20 Jesus answered him, I have spoken plainly to the world; I always taught in a synagogue and in the temple, where all the Jews assemble, and in secret I spoke nothing.
A Yeshu gubhaajangwile, “Nne mobha gowe natendaga bheleketa pa lugwinjili lwa bhandu gwangali nng'iyo na papagwinji natendaga jiganya nshinagogi na ku likanisha, pubhaimanangaga Bhayaudi bhowe, wala nangabheleketa shoshowe kwa nng'iyo.
21 Why askest thou me? Ask those who have heard, what I have spoken to them; behold, these know what I have said.
Pakuti nnaamuya nne? Mwaabhuyanje bhapilikenenje bhala nndi inaalugulilenje. Bhanganyabho bhagamanyinji gunaalugulilenje.”
22 And when he had said this, one of the officers who was standing by struck Jesus on the face, saying, Is it thus that thou answerest the high-priest?
Bhai bhakamaliyeje bheleketa nneyo, bhalinda bhamo bhaajimi tome gubhaakomile lipapa a Yeshu bhalinkuti, “Mmwe nnakwaajangula bhuli nneyo, bhakulungwa bhaabhishila?”
23 Jesus answered him, If I spoke what is evil, testify to the evil; but if well, why dost thou strike me?
A Yeshu gubhaajangwile, “Monaga njibheleketa gangali ga mmbone, mmalanjile gwangali gwa mmbone gwakwe, monaga gumelekete ga mmbone, shinkungomela nndi?”
24 Annas therefore sent him bound to Caiaphas the high-priest.
Bhai, a Anashi gubhaapeleshe a Yeshu kwa a Kayapa bhakulungwa bhaabhishila, bhali bhatabhwilwe.
25 And Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. So they said to him, Art thou also one of his disciples? He denied and said, I am not.
A Shimoni Petili gubhajimi penepo, nkujota moto. Bhai, gubhaabhushiyenje, “Bhuli, nkali mmwe nngabha nkumbi gumo gwa bhaajiganywa bhabho?” Nabhalabho gubhakanile bhalinkuti, “Nngabha nne!”
26 One of the servants of the high-priest, being a kinsman of him whose ear Peter cut off, saith, Did not I see thee in the garden with him?
Ntumishi jumo jwa bhakulungwa bhaabhishila, nnongo nnjakwe akatilwe lishikio na a Petili jula, akwaabhuyaga, “Bhuli, nne nangammona mmwe kubhushitani nni pamo na bhenebho?”
27 Then Peter denied again; and immediately a cock crew.
A Petili gubhakanile kabhili, na shangu lipongo gwakongobhele.
28 Then they lead Jesus from Caiaphas to the governor's palace; and it was early. And they did not themselves go into the palace, that they might not be defiled, but might eat the passover.
Kungai gubhaashoshiyenje a Yeshu kwa a Kayapa, gubhaapelekenje kwa a mpalume bha Shilumi bhashemwaga a Pilato. Puyaliji tome kumashelo, ikabheje ashaayenenji bhangajinjilanga nnukumbi mula, nkupinga bhanakolanje yambi nikwaibhililanga kulya Pashaka.
29 Pilate therefore went out to them, and saith, What accusation do ye bring against this man?
Bhai, a Pilato a Mpalume bha Shilumi bhala, nigubhakopweshe palanga gubhaabhushiyenje, “Bhalebhile nndi bhene bhandubha?”
30 They answered and said to him, If he had not been doing evil, we would not have delivered him up to thee.
Gubhaajangwilenje, “Kaliji bhangalebha, ngutukaapelesheje kunngwenu mmwe.”
31 Pilate therefore said to them, Take him yourselves, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said to him, It is not lawful for us to put any one to death.
A Pilato gubhaalugulilenje, “Ayaga mwaatolanje mwashaayenenji nkaaukumulanje malinga shalia jenunji.” Bhai Bhayaudi gubhaajangwilenje, “Uwe tukapinjikwa kunng'ukumula mundu jojowe kuwa.”
32 That the words of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spoke, signifying what kind of death he was to die.
Ishinkutendeka nneyo nkupinga gatimilile malobhe gubhabhelekete a Yeshu bhalilanguya shiwo shashi shishibhawe.
33 Pilate therefore went into the palace again, and called Jesus, and said to him, Art thou the King of the Jews?
Bhai, a Pilato gubhajinjile kabhili nnukumbi lukulu lushemwa Pulaitolio, gubhaashemile a Yeshu nikwaabhuya, “Bhuli! Mmwe Mmakulungwa bha Bhayaudi?”
34 Jesus answered, Dost thou say this of thyself, or did others tell thee concerning me?
A Yeshu gubhaajangwile, “Bhuli! Genego malobhe genu mmayene, eu nshibhalanjilwa na bhandunji, gangu nne?”
35 Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thy own nation and the chief priests delivered thee up to me. What hast thou done?
A Pilato gubhaajangwile, “Ama! Bhuli nne Nnyaudi? Bhashilambo ajenunji na bhakulungwa bhaabhishila bhenu bhanjienabhonji kwangu nne. Nntendile nndi?”
36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have fought, that I should not be delivered up to the Jews; but now is my kingdom not from hence.
A Yeshu gubhajangwile, “Upalume gwangu nngabha gwa pa shilambolyo. Monaga upalume gwangu ukaliji gwa pa shilambolyo pano, ashimanjola bhangu bhakangomanilenje nkupinga ngunakamulwe na Bhayaudi. Ikabheje upalume gwangu nngabha gwa pepano.”
37 Pilate therefore said to him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest what is true; for I am a king. For this end have I been born, and for this cause have I come into the world, that I may bear witness to the truth. Every one that is of the truth listeneth to my voice.
Penepo a Pilato gubhaabhushiye, “Bhai, Mmwe mmapalume?” A Yeshu gubhajangwile, “Mmwe mmelekete kuti, nne mpalume. Nne njibhelekwa kwa ligongo lya genego na genego ni gung'ishile pa shilambolyo, nkupinga ngong'ondele kweli kubhandunji. Jojowe akwete kweli anambilikanishiya nne.”
38 Pilate saith to him, What is truth? And having said this, he went out again to the Jews, and saith to them, I find nothing criminal in him.
A Pilato bhakwaabhuyaga, “Kweli ni nndi?” A Pilato bhakabheleketeje genego gubhaajendelenje Bhayaudi kabhili, gubhaalugulilenje “Nne ngakushibhona shoshowe shibhalebhile bhenebha.
39 But ye have a custom that I should release to you one at the passover: do ye desire, therefore, that I release to you the king of the Jews?
Ikabheje nkwetenje nnkubho gwa kuti nne ning'ugulilanje nkutabhwa jumo mobha ga Pashaka. Bhuli, nnapinganga ning'ugulilanje A mpalume bha Bhayaudi?”
40 Then they cried out again, saying, Not this man, but Barabbas. Now Barabbas was a robber.
Penepo gubhajobhelenje, “Ng'oo! Nngabha bhenebha ikabhe a Bhalabha!” A Bhalabha bhashinkutabhwa kwa ligongo lya ujambashi.
