John 17
1 When Jesus had thus spoken, he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father! the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that the Son may glorify thee;
Así habló Jesús. Después, levantando sus ojos al cielo, dijo: “Padre, la hora es llegada; glorifica a tu Hijo, para que tu Hijo te glorifique a Ti;
2 according as thou gavest him authority over all flesh, that he should give everlasting life to all whom thou hast given him. (aiōnios g166)
—conforme al señorío que le conferiste sobre todo el género humano— dando vida eterna a todos los que Tú le has dado. (aiōnios g166)
3 And this is the everlasting life, to know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou didst send. (aiōnios g166)
Y la vida eterna es: que te conozcan a Ti, solo Dios verdadero, y a Jesucristo Enviado tuyo. (aiōnios g166)
4 I have glorified thee on the earth, having finished the work which thou gavest me to do;
Yo te he glorificado a Ti sobre la tierra dando acabamiento a la obra que me confiaste para realizar.
5 and now, Father! do thou glorify me with thyself, with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
Y ahora Tú, Padre, glorifícame a Mí junto a Ti mismo, con aquella gloria que en Ti tuve antes que el mundo existiese”.
6 I manifested thy name to the men whom thou gavest me out of the world. Thine they were, and thou gavest them to me; and they have kept thy word.
“Yo he manifestado tu Nombre a los hombres que me diste ( apartándolos ) del mundo. Eran tuyos, y Tú me los diste, y ellos han conservado tu palabra.
7 Now they know that all things whatever thou hast given me are from thee;
Ahora saben que todo lo que Tú me has dado viene de Ti.
8 for I have given to them the words which thou hast given me; and they received them, and knew surely that I came forth from thee, and believed that thou didst send me.
Porque las palabras que Tú me diste se las he dado a ellos, y ellos las han recibido y han conocido verdaderamente que Yo salí de Ti, y han creído que eres Tú quien me has enviado.
9 I pray for them; I pray not for the world, but for those whom thou hast given me; for they are thine;
Por ellos ruego; no por el mundo, sino por los que Tú me diste, porque son tuyos.
10 and all things that are mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.
Pues todo lo mío es tuyo, y todo lo tuyo es mío, y en ellos he sido glorificado.
11 And I am no longer in the world; and they are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father! keep them in thy name which thou hast given me, that they may be one, even as we are.
Yo no estoy ya en el mundo, pero estos quedan en el mundo mientras que Yo me voy a Ti. Padre Santo, por tu nombre, que Tú me diste, guárdalos para que sean uno como somos nosotros.
12 While I was with them, I kept them in thy name which thou hast given me, and guarded them; and no one of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture may be fulfilled.
Mientras Yo estaba con ellos, los guardaba por tu Nombre, que Tú me diste, y los conservé, y ninguno de ellos se perdió sino el hijo de perdición, para que la Escritura fuese cumplida.
13 But now I come to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy made full in them.
Mas ahora voy a Ti, y digo estas cosas estando ( aún ) en el mundo, para que ellos tengan en sí mismos el gozo cumplido que tengo Yo.
14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
Yo les he dado tu palabra y el mundo les ha tomado odio, porque ellos ya no son del mundo, así como Yo no soy del mundo.
15 I do not pray thee to take them out of the world, but to keep them from evil.
No ruego para que los quites del mundo, sino para que los preserves del Maligno.
16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
Ellos no son ya del mundo, así como Yo no soy del mundo.
17 Sanctify them in thy truth; thy word is truth.
Santifícalos en la verdad: la verdad es tu palabra.
18 As thou didst send me into the world, I also sent them into the world.
Como Tú me enviaste a Mí al mundo, también Yo los he enviado a ellos al mundo.
19 And in their behalf I sanctify myself, that they also may be sanctified in the truth.
Y por ellos me santifico Yo mismo, para que también ellos “sean santificados, en la verdad”.
20 Yet not for these alone do I pray, but also for those who believe in me through their word;
“Mas no ruego solo por ellos, sino también por aquellos que, mediante la palabra de ellos, crean en Mí,
21 that they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me and I in thee, that they also may be in us, that the world may believe that thou didst send me.
a fin de que todos sean uno, como Tú, Padre, en Mí y Yo en Ti, a fin de que también ellos sean en nosotros, para que el mundo crea que eres Tú el que me enviaste.
22 And the glory which thou hast given me, I have given them, that they may be one, even as we are one;
Y la gloria que Tú me diste, Yo se la he dado a ellos, para que sean uno como nosotros somos Uno:
23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one, that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
Yo en ellos y Tú en Mí, a fin de que sean perfectamente uno, y para que el mundo sepa que eres Tú quien me enviaste y los amaste a ellos como me amaste a Mí.
24 Father! as to that which thou hast given me, I desire that they also be with me where I am, that they may behold my glory which thou hast given me; for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
Padre, aquellos que Tú me diste quiero que estén conmigo en donde Yo esté, para que vean la gloria mía, que Tú me diste, porque me amabas antes de la creación del mundo.
25 Righteous Father! and yet the world knew thee not! but I knew thee, and these knew that thou didst send me.
Padre Justo, si el mundo no te ha conocido, te conozco Yo, y estos han conocido que eres Tú el que me enviaste,
26 And I made known to them thy name, and will make it known; that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.
y Yo les hice conocer tu nombre, y se lo haré conocer para que el amor con que me has amado sea en ellos y Yo en ellos”.
