< John 17 >
1 When Jesus had thus spoken, he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father! the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that the Son may glorify thee;
Yesu bwe yamala okwogera ebyo n’ayimusa amaaso ge n’atunula eri eggulu, n’ayogera nti, “Kitange ekiseera kituuse. Gulumiza Omwana wo, n’omwana alyoke akugulumize,
2 according as thou gavest him authority over all flesh, that he should give everlasting life to all whom thou hast given him. (aiōnios )
nga bwe wamuwa obuyinza ku balina omubiri bonna, bonna be wamuwa alyoke abawe obulamu obutaggwaawo. (aiōnios )
3 And this is the everlasting life, to know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou didst send. (aiōnios )
Buno bwe bulamu obutaggwaawo, okutegeera ggwe Katonda omu ow’amazima, n’oyo gwe watuma, Yesu Kristo. (aiōnios )
4 I have glorified thee on the earth, having finished the work which thou gavest me to do;
Nkugulumizizza ku nsi, omulimu gwe wantuma okukola, ngumalirizza.
5 and now, Father! do thou glorify me with thyself, with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
Kale kaakano, Kitange, ngulumiza wamu naawe mu kitiibwa ekyo kye nnali nakyo ng’ensi tennabeerawo.”
6 I manifested thy name to the men whom thou gavest me out of the world. Thine they were, and thou gavest them to me; and they have kept thy word.
“Njolesezza erinnya lyo eri abantu be wampa okuva mu nsi. Baali ba nsi naye n’obampa. Baali babo n’obampa era bakkirizza ekigambo kyo.
7 Now they know that all things whatever thou hast given me are from thee;
Bategedde nga buli kye nnina kiva gy’oli,
8 for I have given to them the words which thou hast given me; and they received them, and knew surely that I came forth from thee, and believed that thou didst send me.
kubanga buli kye wandagira nkibayigirizza ne bakitegeera era bategeeredde ddala nga nava gy’oli, era ne bakkiriza nga ggwe wantuma.
9 I pray for them; I pray not for the world, but for those whom thou hast given me; for they are thine;
Mbasabira. Sisabira nsi, naye nsabira abo be wampa kubanga babo.
10 and all things that are mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.
Ng’ebintu byonna bwe biri ebyange ate era nga bibyo, era ne bibyo nga byange, bampeesa ekitiibwa.
11 And I am no longer in the world; and they are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father! keep them in thy name which thou hast given me, that they may be one, even as we are.
Nze sikyali mu nsi, naye bo bali mu nsi, ate nga nzija gy’oli. Kitange Omutukuvu, be wampa bakuume mu linnya lyo, balyoke babeere bumu nga ffe bwe tuli obumu.
12 While I was with them, I kept them in thy name which thou hast given me, and guarded them; and no one of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture may be fulfilled.
Bwe mbadde nabo, abo be wampa mbakuumye mu linnya lyo, ne watabaawo azikirira, okuggyako omwana ow’okubula, ekyawandiikibwa kiryoke kituukirire.”
13 But now I come to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy made full in them.
“Nange kaakano nzija gy’oli, era mbabuulidde ebintu bino nabo babe n’essanyu lyange nga lituukiridde mu bo.
14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
Mbawadde ekigambo kyo, ensi n’ebakyawa kubanga si ba nsi nga Nze bwe siri wa nsi.
15 I do not pray thee to take them out of the world, but to keep them from evil.
Sikusaba kubaggya mu nsi, naye nkusaba obakuume eri omubi.
16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
Si ba nsi nga nange bwe siri wa nsi.
17 Sanctify them in thy truth; thy word is truth.
Obatukuze mu mazima; ekigambo kyo ge mazima.
18 As thou didst send me into the world, I also sent them into the world.
Nga bwe wantuma mu nsi, nange bwe ntyo mbatuma mu nsi.
19 And in their behalf I sanctify myself, that they also may be sanctified in the truth.
Era neetukuza ku lwabwe nabo balyoke batukuzibwe mu mazima.”
20 Yet not for these alone do I pray, but also for those who believe in me through their word;
“Sisabira bano bokka naye nsabira n’abo abanzikiriza olw’ekigambo kyabwe,
21 that they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me and I in thee, that they also may be in us, that the world may believe that thou didst send me.
bonna babeere bumu, nga ggwe Kitange bw’oli mu Nze, nange nga ndi mu ggwe, nabo babeerenga mu ffe, ensi eryoke ekkirize nga ggwe wantuma.
22 And the glory which thou hast given me, I have given them, that they may be one, even as we are one;
Mbawadde ekitiibwa kye wampa, balyoke babeere bumu nga ffe bwe tuli obumu.
23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one, that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
Nze nga ndi mu bo, era naawe ng’oli mu Nze balyoke bafuukire ddala omuntu omu. Ensi eryoke etegeere nga ggwe wantuma era nti obaagala nga bw’onjagala.”
24 Father! as to that which thou hast given me, I desire that they also be with me where I am, that they may behold my glory which thou hast given me; for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
“Kitange, bano be wampa njagala mbeere nabo we ndi balyoke bategeere ekitiibwa kyange kye wampa kubanga wanjagala, ng’ensi tennatondebwa.
25 Righteous Father! and yet the world knew thee not! but I knew thee, and these knew that thou didst send me.
“Ayi Kitange Omutukuvu, ensi teyakumanya, kyokka Nze nkumanyi era n’abayigirizwa bano bamanyi nga ggwe wantuma.
26 And I made known to them thy name, and will make it known; that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.
Era mbayigirizza ne bamanya erinnya lyo, era nzija kwongera okubamanyisa okwagala kwo kw’onjagala, kulyoke kubeerenga mu bo, era nange mbeere mu bo.”
