John 12
1 Jesus, therefore, six days before the passover, came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom Jesus raised from the dead.
फ़सह के पर्व से छः दिन पूर्व मसीह येशु लाज़रॉस के नगर बैथनियाह आए, जहां उन्होंने उसे मरे हुओं में से जीवित किया था.
2 They made therefore a supper for him there, and Martha served; but Lazarus was one of those who reclined at the table with him.
वहां उनके लिए भोज का आयोजन किया गया था. मार्था भोजन परोस रही थी और मसीह येशु के साथ भोज में सम्मिलित लोगों में लाज़रॉस भी था.
3 Then Mary, taking a pound of ointment of pure spikenard, very costly, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair; and the house was filled with the odor of the ointment.
वहां मरियम ने जटामांसी के लगभग तीन सौ मिलीलीटर कीमती और शुद्ध सुगंध द्रव्य मसीह येशु के चरणों पर मला और उन्हें अपने केशों से पोंछा. सारा घर इससे सुगंधित हो गया.
4 But Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples, he who was about to betray him, saith,
इस पर उनका एक शिष्य—कारियोतवासी यहूदाह, जो उनके साथ धोखा करने पर था, कहने लगा,
5 Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred denaries, and given to the poor?
“यह सुगंध द्रव्य गरीबों के लिये तीन सौ दीनार में क्यों नहीं बेचा गया?”
6 And this he said, not because he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and kept the purse, and bore what was put therein.
यह उसने इसलिये नहीं कहा था कि वह गरीबों की चिंता करता था, परंतु इसलिये कि वह चोर था; धनराशि रखने की ज़िम्मेदारी उसकी थी, जिसमें से वह धन चोरी करता था.
7 Then said Jesus, Let her alone, that she may keep it until the day of my burial.
मसीह येशु ने कहा, “उसे यह करने दो, यह मेरे अंतिम संस्कार की तैयारी के लिए है.
8 For the poor ye have always with you, but me ye have not always.
गरीब तुम्हारे साथ हमेशा रहेंगे किंतु मैं तुम्हारे साथ हमेशा नहीं रहूंगा.”
9 The great multitude of the Jews therefore knew that he was there; and they came, not only on account of Jesus, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he raised from the dead.
यह मालूम होने पर कि मसीह येशु वहां हैं, बड़ी संख्या में यहूदी अगुएं इस उद्देश्य से आये कि केवल मसीह येशु को नहीं, परंतु लाज़रॉस को भी देखें जिसे मसीह येशु ने मरे हुओं में से जीवित किया था.
10 But the priests consulted together that they might put Lazarus also to death;
परिणामस्वरूप, प्रधान पुरोहित लाज़रॉस की भी हत्या की योजना करने लगे,
11 because on his account many of the Jews were going away, and believing in Jesus.
क्योंकि लाज़रॉस के कारण अनेक यहूदी उन्हें छोड़ मसीह येशु में विश्वास करने लगे थे.
12 On the next day, a great multitude that had come to the feast, hearing that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
अगले दिन पर्व में आए विशाल भीड़ ने सुना कि मसीह येशु येरूशलेम आ रहे हैं.
13 took branches of palm-trees, and went forth to meet him, crying aloud, Hosanna! blessed is he who cometh in the name of the Lord, even the king of Israel!
वे सब खजूर के वृक्षों की डालियां लेकर मसीह येशु से मिलने निकल पड़े और ऊंचे शब्द में जय जयकार करने लगे. “होशान्ना!” “धन्य हैं वह, जो प्रभु के नाम में आ रहे हैं!” “धन्य हैं इस्राएल के राजा!”
14 And Jesus, having found a young ass, sat thereon, as it is written,
वहां मसीह येशु गधे के एक बच्चे पर बैठ गए—वैसे ही जैसा कि पवित्र शास्त्र का लेख है:
15 “Fear not, daughter of Zion! lo! thy king cometh, sitting on an ass's colt.”
“ज़ियोन की पुत्री, भयभीत न हो! देखो, तुम्हारा राजा गधे पर बैठा हुआ आ रहा है.”
16 These things his disciples did not understand at the first; but when Jesus had been glorified, then they remembered that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things to him.
उनके शिष्य उस समय तो यह नहीं समझे किंतु जब मसीह येशु की महिमा हुई तो उन्हें याद आया कि पवित्र शास्त्र में यह सब उन्हीं के विषय में लिखा गया था और भीड़ ने सब कुछ वचन के अनुसार ही किया था.
17 The multitude therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead bore witness.
वे सब, जिन्होंने मसीह येशु के द्वारा लाज़रॉस को कब्र से बाहर बुलाए जाते तथा मरे हुओं में से दोबारा जीवित किए जाते देखा था, उनकी गवाही दे रहे थे.
18 For this cause also the multitude met him, because they had heard that he had wrought, this sign.
भीड़ का उन्हें देखने के लिए आने का एक कारण यह भी था कि वे मसीह येशु के इस अद्भुत चिह्न के विषय में सुन चुके थे.
19 The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Ye see that ye effect nothing; o! the world hath gone after him.
यह सब जानकर फ़रीसी आपस में कहने लगे, “तुमसे कुछ भी नहीं हो पा रहा है. देखो, सारा संसार उसके पीछे हो लिया है!”
20 Now there were certain Greeks among those who came up to worship at the feast.
पर्व की आराधना में सम्मिलित होने आए लोगों में कुछ यूनानी भी थे.
21 These came therefore to Philip, who was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, saying, Sir, we wish to see Jesus.
उन्होंने गलील प्रदेश के बैथसैदावासी फ़िलिप्पॉस से विनती की, “श्रीमान! हम मसीह येशु से भेंट करना चाहते हैं.”
22 Philip goeth and telleth Andrew; Andrew and Philip go and tell Jesus.
फ़िलिप्पॉस ने आन्द्रेयास को यह सूचना दी और उन दोनों ने जाकर मसीह येशु को.
23 But Jesus answereth them, saying, The hour hath come that the Son of man should be glorified.
यह सुनकर मसीह येशु ने उनसे कहा, “मनुष्य के पुत्र के गौरवान्वित होने का समय आ गया है.
24 Truly, truly do I say to you, Unless a grain of wheat fall into the ground and die, itself abideth alone; but if it die, it beareth much fruit.
मैं तुम पर यह अटल सच्चाई प्रकट कर रहा हूं: जब तक बीज भूमि में पड़कर मर न जाए, अकेला ही रहता है परंतु यदि वह मर जाए तो बहुत फलता है.
25 He that loveth his life loseth it; and he that hateth his life in this world will keep it unto everlasting life. (aiōnios g166)
जो अपने जीवन से प्रेम रखता है, उसे खो देता है परंतु जो इस संसार में अपने जीवन से प्रेम नहीं रखता, उसे अनंत जीवन के लिए सुरक्षित रखेगा. (aiōnios g166)
26 If any one be a servant to me, let him follow me; and where I am, there also will my servant be; if any one serve me, the Father will honor him.
यदि कोई मेरी सेवा करता है, वह मेरे पीछे चले. मेरा सेवक वहीं होगा जहां मैं हूं. जो मेरी सेवा करता है, उसका पिता परमेश्वर आदर करेंगे.
27 Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour! But for this cause I came to this hour.
“इस समय मेरी आत्मा व्याकुल है. मैं क्या कहूं? ‘पिता, मुझे इस स्थिति से बचा लीजिए’? किंतु इसी कारण से तो मैं यहां तक आया हूं.
28 Father, glorify thy name! Then came there a voice from heaven: Yea, I have glorified it, and will glorify it again.
पिता, अपने नाम का गौरव कीजिए.” इस पर स्वर्ग से निकलकर यह आवाज सुनाई दी, “मैंने तुम्हें गौरवान्वित किया है, और दोबारा गौरवान्वित करूंगा.”
29 The multitude therefore that stood by, hearing this, said that it thundered. Others said, An angel hath spoken to him.
भीड़ ने जब यह सुना तो कुछ ने कहा, “देखो, बादल गरजा!” अन्य कुछ ने कहा, “किसी स्वर्गदूत ने उनसे कुछ कहा है.”
30 Jesus answered and said, This voice hath come not for my sake, but for yours.
इस पर मसीह येशु ने उनसे कहा, “यह आवाज मेरे नहीं, तुम्हारे लिए है.
31 Now is the judgment of this world; now will the prince of this world be cast out;
इस संसार के न्याय का समय आ गया है और अब इस संसार के हाकिम को निकाल दिया जाएगा.
32 and I, if I be lifted up from the earth, shall draw all men to me.
जब मैं पृथ्वी से ऊंचे पर उठाया जाऊंगा तो सब लोगों को अपनी ओर खींच लूंगा.”
33 This he said, signifying what kind of death he was to die.
इसके द्वारा मसीह येशु ने यह संकेत दिया कि उनकी मृत्यु किस प्रकार की होगी.
34 The multitude therefore answered him, We have heard out of the Law that the Christ abideth for ever; how then dost thou say that the Son of man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of man? (aiōn g165)
भीड़ ने उनसे प्रश्न किया, “हमने व्यवस्था में से सुना है कि मसीह का अस्तित्व सर्वदा रहेगा. आप यह कैसे कहते हैं कि मनुष्य के पुत्र का ऊंचे पर उठाया जाना ज़रूरी है? कौन है यह मनुष्य का पुत्र?” (aiōn g165)
35 Jesus therefore said to them, Yet a little while is the light among you. Walk while ye have the light, that darkness may not overtake you; and he that walketh in the darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.
तब मसीह येशु ने उन्हें उत्तर दिया, “ज्योति तुम्हारे मध्य कुछ ही समय तक है. जब तक ज्योति है, चलते रहो, ऐसा न हो कि अंधकार तुम्हें आ घेरे क्योंकि जो अंधकार में चलता है, वह नहीं जानता कि किस ओर जा रहा है.
36 While ye have the light, believe in the light, that ye may become sons of light. These things spoke Jesus, and went away, and hid himself from them.
जब तक तुम्हारे पास ज्योति है, ज्योति में विश्वास करो कि तुम ज्योति की संतान बन सको.” यह कहकर मसीह येशु वहां से चले गए और उनसे छिपे रहे.
37 But though he had wrought so many signs before them, they did not believe in him;
यद्यपि मसीह येशु ने उनके सामने अनेक अद्भुत चिन्ह दिखाए थे तौभी वे लोग उनमें विश्वास नहीं कर रहे थे;
38 that what was spoken by Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, “Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?”
जिससे भविष्यवक्ता यशायाह का यह वचन पूरा हो: “प्रभु, किसने हमारी बातों पर विश्वास किया और प्रभु का हाथ किस पर प्रकट हुआ है?”
39 For this cause they could not believe, because Isaiah said again,
वे विश्वास इसलिये नहीं कर पाये कि भविष्यवक्ता यशायाह ने यह भी कहा है:
40 “He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; lest they should see with their eyes, and understand with their heart, and turn from their ways, and I should heal them.”
“परमेश्वर ने उनकी आंखें अंधी तथा उनका ह्रदय कठोर कर दिया, कहीं ऐसा न हो कि वे आंखों से देखें, मन से समझें और पश्चाताप कर लें, और मैं उन्हें स्वस्थ कर दूं.”
41 These things said Isaiah, because he saw his glory, and spoke of him.
यशायाह ने यह वर्णन इसलिये किया कि उन्होंने प्रभु का प्रताप देखा और उसका वर्णन किया.
42 Yet even of the rulers many believed in him; but on account of the Pharisees they did not acknowledge him, lest they should be put of the synagogue;
अनेकों ने, यहां तक कि अधिकारियों ने भी मसीह येशु में विश्वास किया किंतु फ़रीसियों के कारण सार्वजनिक रूप से स्वीकार नहीं किया कि कहीं उन्हें यहूदी सभागृह से निकाल न दिया जाए
43 for they loved the glory that is of men more than the glory that is of God.
क्योंकि उन्हें परमेश्वर से प्राप्त आदर की तुलना में मनुष्यों से प्राप्त आदर अधिक प्रिय था.
44 But Jesus cried aloud, and said, He that believeth in me, believeth not in me, but in him that sent me;
मसीह येशु ने ऊंचे शब्द में कहा, “जो कोई मुझमें विश्वास करता है, वह मुझमें ही नहीं परंतु मेरे भेजनेवाले में विश्वास करता है.
45 and he that beholdeth me, beholdeth him that sent me.
क्योंकि जो कोई मुझे देखता है, वह मेरे भेजनेवाले को देखता है.
46 I have come a light into the world, that whoever believeth in me may not remain in the darkness.
मैं संसार में ज्योति बनकर आया हूं कि वे सभी, जो मुझमें विश्वास करें, अंधकार में न रहें.
47 And if any one hear my words, and keep them not, I do not judge him; for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
“मैं उस व्यक्ति पर दोष नहीं लगाता, जो मेरे संदेश सुनकर उनका पालन नहीं करता क्योंकि मैं संसार पर दोष लगाने नहीं परंतु संसार के उद्धार के लिए आया हूं.
48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him; the word that I have spoken, that will judge him in the last day.
जो कोई मेरा तिरस्कार करता है और मेरे समाचार को ग्रहण नहीं करता, उस पर आरोप लगानेवाला एक ही है: मेरा समाचार; वही उसे अंतिम दिन दोषी घोषित करेगा.
49 Because I have not spoken from myself; but the Father who sent me hath himself committed to me what I should say, and what I should speak;
मैंने अपनी ओर से कुछ नहीं कहा, परंतु मेरे पिता ने, जो मेरे भेजनेवाले हैं, आज्ञा दी है कि मैं क्या कहूं और कैसे कहूं.
50 and I know that what he hath committed to me is everlasting life. What I speak therefore, I speak as the Father hath directed me. (aiōnios g166)
मैं जानता हूं कि उनकी आज्ञा का पालन अनंत जीवन है. इसलिये जो कुछ मैं कहता हूं, ठीक वैसा ही कहता हूं, जैसा पिता ने मुझे कहने की आज्ञा दी है.” (aiōnios g166)
