John 10
1 Truly, truly do I say to you, He that entereth not through the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber;
『まことに誠に汝らに告ぐ、羊の檻に門より入らずして、他より越ゆる者は、盜人なり、強盜なり。
2 but he that entereth through the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
門より入る者は、羊の牧者なり。
3 To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice; and his own sheep he calleth by name, and leadeth them out.
門守は彼のために開き、羊はその聲をきき、彼は己の羊の名を呼びて牽きいだす。
4 When he hath put forth all his own, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him, because they know his voice.
悉とく其の羊をいだしし時、これに先だちゆく、羊その聲を知るによりて從ふなり。
5 But a stranger they will not follow, but will flee from him; because they know not the voice of strangers.
他の者には從はず、反つて逃ぐ、他の者どもの聲を知らぬ故なり』
6 This parable Jesus spoke to them; but they did not understand what the things were which he spoke to them.
イエスこの譬を言ひ給へど、彼らその何事をかたり給ふかを知らざりき。
7 Jesus therefore said, Truly, truly do I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.
この故にイエス復いひ給ふ『まことに誠に汝らに告ぐ、我は羊の門なり。
8 All those who came are thieves and robbers; but the sheep did not hear them.
すべて我より前に來りし者は、盜人なり、強盜なり、羊は之に聽かざりき。
9 I am the door; if any one enter through me, he will be saved, and will go in and out, and find pasture.
我は門なり、おほよそ我によりて入る者は救はれ、かつ出入をなし、草を得べし。
10 The thief cometh not but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy; I came that they might have life, and have abundance.
盜人のきたるは盜み、殺し、亡さんとするの他なし。わが來るは羊に生命を得しめ、かつ豐に得しめん爲なり。
11 I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
我は善き牧者なり、善き牧者は羊のために生命を捨つ。
12 He that is a hireling and not a shepherd, nor the owner of the sheep, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth; and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep;
牧者ならず、羊も己がものならぬ雇人は、豺狼のきたるを見れば羊を棄てて逃ぐ、――豺狼は羊をうばひ且ちらす――
13 because he is a hireling, and careth not for the sheep.
彼は雇人にて、その羊を顧みぬ故なり。
14 I am the good shepherd, and I know my sheep, and they know me,
我は善き牧者にして、我がものを知り、我がものは我を知る、
15 even as the Father knoweth me, and I know the Father; and I give my life for the sheep.
父の我を知り、我の父を知るが如し、我は羊のために生命を捨つ。
16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold; them also I must bring; and they will hear my voice, and there will be one flock, one shepherd.
我には亦この檻のものならぬ他の羊あり、之をも導かざるを得ず、彼らは我が聲をきかん、遂に一つの群ひとりの牧者となるべし。
17 On this account the Father loveth me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again.
之によりて父は我を愛し給ふ、それは我ふたたび生命を得んために生命を捨つる故なり。
18 No one taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it again; this charge I received from my Father.
人これを我より取るにあらず、我みづから捨つるなり。我は之をすつる權あり、復これを得る權あり、我この命令をわが父より受けたり』
19 Again there arose a division among the Jews on account of these words.
これらの言によりて復ユダヤ人のうちに紛爭おこり、
20 Many of them said, He hath a demon, and is mad; why do ye hear him?
その中なる多くの者いふ『かれは惡鬼に憑かれて氣 狂へり、何ぞ之にきくか』
21 Others said, These are not the words of one that hath a demon. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?
他の者ども言ふ『これは惡鬼に憑かれたる者の言にあらず、惡鬼は盲人の目をあけ得んや』
22 And the feast of the dedication came at Jerusalem. It was winter;
その頃エルサレムに宮 潔の祭あり、時は冬なり。
23 and Jesus was walking in the temple, in Solomon's porch.
イエス宮の内、ソロモンの廊を歩みたまふに、
24 Then came the Jews around him, and said to him, How long dost thou hold our minds in suspense? If thou art the Christ, tell us plainly.
ユダヤ人ら之を取圍みて言ふ『何時まで我らの心を惑しむるか、汝キリストならば明白に告げよ』
25 Jesus answered them, I have told you, and ye do not believe. The works that I do in my Father's name, these bear witness of me.
イエス答へ給ふ『われ既に告げたれど汝ら信ぜず、わが父の名によりて行ふわざは、我に就きて證す。
26 But ye do not believe, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said to you.
されど汝らは信ぜず、我が羊ならぬ故なり。
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me;
わが羊はわが聲をきき、我は彼らを知り、彼らは我に從ふ。
29 That which my Father hath given me is greater than all; and no one is able to tear [[them]] out of the Father's hand.
彼らを我にあたへ給ひし我が父は、一切のものよりも大なれば、誰にても父の御手よりは奪ふこと能はず。
30 I and the Father are one.
我と父とは一つなり』
31 The Jews again took up stones to stone him.
ユダヤ人また石を取りあげてイエスを撃たんとす。
32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shown you from the Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
イエス答へ給ふ『われは父によりて多くの善き業を汝らに示したり、その孰の業ゆゑに我を石にて撃たんとするか』
33 The Jews answered him, Not for a good work do we stone thee, but for blasphemy, and because thou, who art a man, makest thyself God.
ユダヤ人こたふ『なんぢを石にて撃つは善きわざの故ならず、瀆言の故にして、なんぢ人なるに、己を神とする故なり』
34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your Law, “I said, ye are gods”?
イエス答へ給ふ『なんぢらの律法に「われ言ふ、汝らは神なり」と録されたるに非ずや。
35 If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came, and the Scripture cannot be made void,
かく神の言を賜はりし人々を神と云へり。聖書は廢るべきにあらず、
36 say ye of him whom the Father sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest, because I said, I am the Son of God?
然るに父の潔め別ちて世に遣し給ひし者が「われは神の子なり」と言へばとて、何ぞ「瀆言を言ふ」といふか。
37 If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
我もし我が父のわざを行はずば、我を信ずな、
38 But if I do them, though ye believe not me, believe the works; that ye may learn and know that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.
もし行はば、假令われを信ぜずとも、その業を信ぜよ。さらば父の我にをり、我の父に居ることを知りて悟らん』
39 They sought therefore to seize him; and he went forth out of their hands.
かれら復イエスを捕へんとせしが、その手より脱れて去り給へり。
40 And he went away again beyond the Jordan, to the place where John was at first baptizing; and there he abode.
かくてイエス復ヨルダンの彼方、ヨハネの最初にバプテスマを施したる處にいたり、其處にとどまり給ひしが、
41 And many came to him, and said, John indeed wrought no sign; but everything that John said of this man was true.
多くの人みもとに來りて『ヨハネは何の徴をも行はざりしかど、この人に就きてヨハネの言ひし事は、ことごとく眞なりき』と言ふ。
42 And many believed in him there.
而して多くの人かしこにてイエスを信じたり。
