Job 8
1 Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said:
तब बिलदद सूखी कहने लगा,
2 How long wilt thou speak such things? How long shall the words of thy mouth be like a strong wind?
तू कब तक ऐसे ही बकता रहेगा, और तेरे मुँह की बातें कब तक आँधी की तरह होंगी?
3 Will God pervert judgment? Or will the Almighty pervert justice?
क्या ख़ुदा बेइन्साफ़ी करता है? क्या क़ादिर — ए — मुतलक़ इन्साफ़ का खू़न करता है?
4 As thy children sinned against him, He hath given them up to their transgression.
अगर तेरे फ़र्ज़न्दों ने उसका गुनाह किया है, और उसने उन्हें उन ही की ख़ता के हवाले कर दिया।
5 But if thou wilt seek early to God, And make thy supplication to the Almighty, —
तोभी अगर तू ख़ुदा को खू़ब ढूँडता, और क़ादिर — ए — मुतलक़ के सामने मिन्नत करता,
6 If thou wilt be pure and upright, Surely he will yet arise for thee, And prosper thy righteous habitation;
तो अगर तू पाक दिल और रास्तबाज़ होता, तो वह ज़रूर अब तेरे लिए बेदार हो जाता, और तेरी रास्तबाज़ी के घर को बढ़ाता।
7 So that thy beginning shall be small, And thy latter end very great.
और अगरचे तेरा आग़ाज़ छोटा सा था, तोभी तेरा अंजाम बहुत बड़ा होता
8 For inquire, I pray thee, of the former age, And mark what hath been searched out by their fathers;
ज़रा पिछले ज़माने के लोंगों से पू छ और जो कुछ उनके बाप दादा ने तहक़ीक़ की है उस पर ध्यान कर।
9 (For we are of yesterday and know nothing, Since our days upon the earth are but a shadow; )
क्यूँकि हम तो कल ही के हैं, और कुछ नहीं जानते और हमारे दिन ज़मीन पर साये की तरह हैं।
10 Will not they instruct thee, and tell thee, And utter words from their understanding?
क्या वह तुझे न सिखाएँगे और न बताएँगे और अपने दिल की बातें नहीं करेंगे?
11 “Can the paper-reed grow up without mire? Can the bulrush grow without water?
क्या नागरमोंथा बग़ैर कीचड़ के उग सकता है क्या सरकंडों को बिना पानी के बढ़ा किया जा सकता है?
12 While it is yet in its greenness, and is not cut down, It withereth before any other herb.
जब वह हरा ही है और काटा भी नहीं गया तोभी और पौदों से पहले सूख जाता है।
13 Such is the fate of all who forget God; So perisheth the hope of the ungodly.
ऐसी ही उन सब की राहें हैं, जो ख़ुदा को भूल जाते हैं बे ख़ुदा आदमी की उम्मीद टूट जाएगी
14 His confidence shall come to nought, And his trust shall prove a spider's web.
उसका ऐतमा'द जाता रहेगा और उसका भरोसा मकड़ी का जाला है।
15 He shall lean upon his house, and it shall not stand; He shall lay fast hold on it, but it shall not endure.
वह अपने घर पर टेक लगाएगा लेकिन वह खड़ा न रहेगा, वह उसे मज़बूती से थामेगा लेकिन वह क़ाईम न रहेगा।
16 He is in full green before the sun, And his branches shoot forth over his garden;
वह धूप पाकर हरा भरा हो जाता है और उसकी डालियाँ उसी के बाग़ में फैलतीं हैं
17 His roots are entwined about the heap, And he seeth the place of stones;
उसकी जड़ें ढेर में लिपटी हुई रहती हैं, वह पत्थर की जगह को देख लेता है।
18 When he shall be destroyed from his place, It shall deny him, saying, 'I never saw thee.'
अगर वह अपनी जगह से हलाक किया जाए तो वह उसका इन्कार करके कहने लगेंगी, कि मैंने तुझे देखा ही नहीं।
19 Lo! such is the joy of his course! And others shall spring up from his place”
देख उसके रस्ते की ख़ुशी इतनी ही है, और मिटटी में से दूसरे उग आएगें।
20 Behold, God will not cast away an upright man; Nor will he help the evil-doers.
देख ख़ुदा कामिल आदमी को छोड़ न देगा, न वह बदकिरदारों को सम्भालेगा।
21 While he filleth thy mouth with laughter, And thy lips with gladness,
वह अब भी तेरे मुँह को हँसी से भर देगा और तेरे लबों की ललकार की आवाज़ से।
22 They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame, And the dwelling-place of the wicked shall come to nought.
तेरे नफ़रत करने वाले शर्म का जामा' पहनेंगे और शरीरों का ख़ेमा क़ाईम न रहेगा
