Job 4
1 Then spake Eliphaz the Temanite, and said:
ತೇಮಾನ್ಯನಾದ ಎಲೀಫಜನು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟನು:
2 If one attempt a word with thee, wilt thou be offended? But who can refrain from speaking?
“ಒಬ್ಬನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತಾಡ ತೊಡಗಿದರೆ, ನಿನಗೆ ಬೇಸರಿಕೆ ಉಂಟಾಗುವುದೋ? ಮಾತಾಡದೆ ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಇರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾರಿಂದಾದೀತು?
3 Behold, thou hast admonished many; Thou hast strengthened feeble hands;
ಅನೇಕರಿಗೆ ನೀನು ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಕೊಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನೂ ಬಲಹೀನ ಕೈಗಳನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನೂ ಯೋಚಿಸು.
4 Thy words have upheld him that was falling, And thou hast given strength to feeble knees.
ಎಡವಿ ಬೀಳುವವನನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ನುಡಿಗಳು ಎದ್ದು ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದವು. ಬಲಹೀನವಾದ ಮೊಣಕಾಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಬಲಪಡಿಸಿದೆ.
5 But now it is come upon thee, and thou faintest; It toucheth thee, and thou art confounded!
ಈಗ ಆಪತ್ತು ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಂದದ್ದರಿಂದ ನೀನು ದಣಿಯುತ್ತಿರುವೆ; ನಿನಗೂ ಕಡುಕಷ್ಟ ತಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಕಳವಳಪಡುತ್ತಿರುವೆ.
6 Is not thy fear of God thy hope, And the uprightness of thy ways thy confidence?
ನಿನ್ನ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯೇ ನಿನಗೆ ಭರವಸೆಯೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಸನ್ಮಾಮಾರ್ಗಗಳು ನಿನ್ನ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯೂ ಆಗಿರಬೇಕಲ್ಲವೇ?
7 Remember, I pray thee, who ever perished being innocent? Or where have the righteous been cut off?
“ನೆನಪುಮಾಡಿಕೋ, ನಿರಪರಾಧಿಯಾಗಿ ನಾಶವಾದವನು ಯಾವನು? ನೀತಿವಂತರು ಅಳಿದು ಹೋದದ್ದು ಎಲ್ಲಿ?
8 According to what I have seen, they who plough iniquity, And sow mischief, reap the same.
ನಾನು ಕಂಡ ಹಾಗೆ ಕೆಟ್ಟತನವನ್ನು ಊಳುವವರೂ ದುಷ್ಟತನವನ್ನು ಬಿತ್ತುವವರೂ ಅದನ್ನೇ ಕೊಯ್ಯುವರು.
9 By the blast of God they perish, And by the breath of his nostrils they are consumed.
ದೇವರ ಉಸಿರಿನಿಂದ ಅವರು ಕ್ಷಯಿಸಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. ದೇವರ ದಂಡನೆಯಿಂದ ಅಂಥವರು ನಾಶವಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ;
10 The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, And the teeth of the young lions are broken.
ಸಿಂಹಗಳು ಗರ್ಜಿಸಬಹುದು ಮತ್ತು ಕೂಗಬಹುದು, ಆದರೂ ಪ್ರಾಯದ ಸಿಂಹಗಳ ಹಲ್ಲುಗಳು ಮುರಿದುಹೋಗಿವೆ.
11 The fierce lion perisheth for lack of prey, And the whelps of the lioness are scattered abroad.
ಸಿಂಹವು ಬೇಟೆ ಇಲ್ಲದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಾಶವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ; ಸಿಂಹದ ಮರಿಗಳು ಚದರಿಹೋಗುವವು.
12 A word was once secretly brought to me, And mine ear caught a whisper thereof.
“ಒಂದು ಮಾತು ನನಗೆ ಗುಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿದುಬಂತು, ಅದರ ಪಿಸುಮಾತು ನನ್ನ ಕಿವಿಗೆ ಬಿತ್ತು.
13 Amid thoughts from visions of the night, When deep sleep falleth upon men,
ರಾತ್ರಿ ಕನಸಿನ ಆಲೋಚನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಗಾಢನಿದ್ರೆಯು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಹತ್ತುವಾಗಲೂ
14 A fear and a horror came upon me, Which made all my bones to shake.
ಭಯವೂ ನಡುಕವೂ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು, ನನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಎಲುಬುಗಳನ್ನು ನಡುಗಿಸಿತು.
15 Then a spirit passed before my face, The hair of my flesh rose on end;
ಒಂದು ಆತ್ಮವು ನನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಹಾದುಹೋಯಿತು, ಆಗ ನನ್ನ ಮೈ ರೋಮವೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿಮಿರಿ ನಿಂತವು.
16 It stood still, but its form I could not discern; An image was before mine eyes; There was silence, and I heard a voice:
ಆ ಆತ್ಮ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದರೂ ಅದು ಏನೆಂದು ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅದರ ರೂಪವು ನನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣು ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಂತಿತ್ತು, ಆಗ ಒಂದು ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮ ಸ್ವರವು ಕೇಳಿಸಿತು:
17 “Shall mortal man be more just than God? Shall man be more pure than his Maker?
‘ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ದೇವರಿಗಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ನೀತಿವಂತನಾಗಿರಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವೇ? ಮಾನವನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಕರ್ತ ದೇವರಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಶುದ್ಧನಾಗಿರಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವೇ?
18 Behold, he putteth no trust in his ministering spirits, And his angels he chargeth with frailty.
ತಮ್ಮ ಸೇವಕರಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರು ನಂಬದೆ, ತಮ್ಮ ದೂತರಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ತಪ್ಪು ಕಂಡಿರಲು,
19 What then are they who dwell in houses of clay, Whose foundation is in the dust, Who crumble to pieces, as if moth-eaten!
ಧೂಳಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅಸ್ತಿವಾರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಮಣ್ಣಿನ ಮನೆಗಳ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳು, ನುಸಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಜಜ್ಜಿಹೋದವರು, ಇನ್ನೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ದಂಡನೆಗೆ ಒಳಪಡುವರಲ್ಲವೇ?
20 Between morning and evening are they destroyed; They perish for ever, and none regardeth it.
ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆಯಿಂದ ಸಂಜೆಯವರೆಗೆ ಜೀವಿಸಿದ ಅವರು ನಾಶವಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಯಾರ ಗಮನಕ್ಕೂ ಬಾರದೇ ನಿತ್ಯ ನಾಶವಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ.
21 The excellency that is in them is torn away; They die before they have become wise.”
ಅವರ ಗುಡಾರದ ಹಗ್ಗವು ಬಿಚ್ಚಿಹೋಗುವುದು, ಅವರು ಜ್ಞಾನವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಸಾಯುವರು.’
