< Job 4 >
1 Then spake Eliphaz the Temanite, and said:
Ket simmungbat ni Elifaz a Temanita ket kinunana,
2 If one attempt a word with thee, wilt thou be offended? But who can refrain from speaking?
No padasen ti siasinoman a makisarita kenka, agladingitka kadi? Ngem siasino ti makalapped kenkuana nga agsao?
3 Behold, thou hast admonished many; Thou hast strengthened feeble hands;
Kitaem, adu ti sinursurwam; pinapigsam dagiti nakapsut nga ima.
4 Thy words have upheld him that was falling, And thou hast given strength to feeble knees.
Sinaranay dagiti sasaom isuna a matmatnag, pinatibkermo dagiti nalupoy a tumeng.
5 But now it is come upon thee, and thou faintest; It toucheth thee, and thou art confounded!
Ngem ita dimteng kenka ti riribuk, ket maupayka; sagsagidenaka, ket marirriribukanka.
6 Is not thy fear of God thy hope, And the uprightness of thy ways thy confidence?
Saan aya a ti panagbutengmo ti Dios ti mangted koma kenka iti kinatalged? Saan aya a ti kinapudno dagiti wagasmo ti mangted koma kenka ti namnama?
7 Remember, I pray thee, who ever perished being innocent? Or where have the righteous been cut off?
Panunotem daytoy, ipakpakaasik kenka: siasino iti napukaw nga awan basolna? Wenno kaano a naputed ti nalinteg a tao?
8 According to what I have seen, they who plough iniquity, And sow mischief, reap the same.
Segun iti napaliiwko, dagiti agarado iti basol ken agmula iti riribuk, isu met laeng ti apitenna.
9 By the blast of God they perish, And by the breath of his nostrils they are consumed.
Mapukawda babaen iti anges ti Dios; maibusda babaen iti gil-ayab ti pungtotna.
10 The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, And the teeth of the young lions are broken.
Ti panagngernger ti leon, ti timek iti narungsot a leon, dagiti ngipen dagiti urbon a leon—natuppoldan.
11 The fierce lion perisheth for lack of prey, And the whelps of the lioness are scattered abroad.
Mapukaw ti nataengan a leon gapu iti kinaawan dagiti natiliw: naiwarawara dagiti urbon ti kabaian a leon iti sadinoman.
12 A word was once secretly brought to me, And mine ear caught a whisper thereof.
Ita, sililimed a naiyeg kaniak ti maysa a banag; nakangngeg ti lapayagko ti arasaas maipanggep iti daytoy.
13 Amid thoughts from visions of the night, When deep sleep falleth upon men,
Kadagiti panpanunot manipud kadagiti sirmata iti rabii, idi sumamay ti narnekan a pannaturog kadagiti tattao.
14 A fear and a horror came upon me, Which made all my bones to shake.
Immay kaniak ti panagbuteng ken panagpigerger, ket pinagkintayegna dagiti amin a tulangko.
15 Then a spirit passed before my face, The hair of my flesh rose on end;
Kalpasanna, limmabas ti maysa nga espiritu iti sangoanak; simgar dagiti buok ti lasagko.
16 It stood still, but its form I could not discern; An image was before mine eyes; There was silence, and I heard a voice:
Nagtakder ti espiritu a saan nga agkutkuti, ngem saanko a mailasin ti langana. Adda maysa a ladawan iti sangoanan dagiti matak; adda iti panagulimek, ket nakangngegak iti timek a nagkuna,
17 “Shall mortal man be more just than God? Shall man be more pure than his Maker?
“Mabalin kadi a nalinlinteg ti maysa a tao ngem ti Dios? Mabalin kadi a nasinsin-aw ti tao ngem ti Nangaramid kenkuana?
18 Behold, he putteth no trust in his ministering spirits, And his angels he chargeth with frailty.
Kitaem, no saan nga agtalek ti Dios kadagiti adipenna; no pabasolenna dagiti anghel iti kinamaag,
19 What then are they who dwell in houses of clay, Whose foundation is in the dust, Who crumble to pieces, as if moth-eaten!
kasano nga ad-adda a pudno daytoy kadagiti agnanaed kadagiti pitak a balay, a ti pundasyonda ket adda iti tapuk, a nabibiit a marumek ngem iti akot-akot?
20 Between morning and evening are they destroyed; They perish for ever, and none regardeth it.
Madadaelda iti nagbaetan ti agsapa ken ti rabii; mapukawda iti agnanayon nga awan ti siasinoman a makadlaw kadakuada.
21 The excellency that is in them is torn away; They die before they have become wise.”
Saan kadi a nauyos dagiti galut ti toldada iti nagtetengngaanda? Matayda; matayda nga awanan ti kinasirib.
