Job 37
1 At this my heart trembleth, And leapeth out of its place.
La aceasta de asemenea inima mea tremură și sare din locul ei.
2 Hear, O hear, the thunder of his voice, And the noise which goeth forth from his mouth!
Ascultă cu atenție vuietul vocii sale și sunetul ce iese din gura lui.
3 He directeth it under the whole heaven, And his lightning to the ends of the earth.
El îl conduce sub întregul cer și fulgerul lui până la marginile pământului.
4 After it the thunder roareth; He thundereth with his voice of majesty, And restraineth it not, when his voice is heard.
După acesta răcnește o voce, el tună cu vocea maiestății sale; și nu le va opri când se aude vocea sa.
5 God thundereth with his voice marvellously; Great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.
Dumnezeu tună uimitor cu vocea sa; face lucruri mari pe care nu le înțelegem.
6 For he saith to the snow, “Be thou on the earth!” To the shower also, even the showers of his might.
Pentru că el spune zăpezii: Fii pe pământ; la fel ploii mărunte și ploii mari a tăriei sale.
7 He sealeth up the hand of every man, That all men whom he hath made may acknowledge him.
El sigilează mâna fiecărui om, ca toți oamenii să cunoască lucrarea lui.
8 Then the beasts go into dens, And abide in their caverns.
Atunci fiarele intră în vizuini și rămân în locurile lor.
9 Out of the south cometh the whirlwind, And cold out of the north.
Din sud vine vârtejul de vânt, și frigul din nord.
10 By the breath of God ice is formed, And the broad waters become narrow,
Prin suflarea lui Dumnezeu este dată bruma; și lățimea apelor este strâmtată.
11 Yea, with moisture he burdeneth the clouds; He spreadeth abroad his lightning-clouds.
De asemenea prin udare el obosește norul gros, el împrăștie norul său luminos;
12 They move about by his direction, To execute all his commands throughout the world;
Și norul este întors de jur împrejur prin sfaturile lui, ca ei să facă orice le poruncește peste fața lumii, pe pământ.
13 Whether he cause them to come for punishment, Or for the land, or for mercy.
El face ca acesta să vină, fie pentru disciplinare, fie pentru pământul său, fie pentru milă.
14 Give ear to this, O Job! Stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God!
Dă ascultare la aceasta, Iov, stai liniștit și ia aminte la minunatele lucrări ale lui Dumnezeu.
15 Dost thou know when God gave commandment to them, And caused the lightning of his cloud to flash?
Știi tu când Dumnezeu i-a aranjat și a făcut lumina norului său să strălucească?
16 Dost thou understand the balancing of the clouds, The wondrous works of Him that is perfect in knowledge?
Știi tu cumpănirea norilor, minunatele lucrări ale celui care este desăvârșit în cunoaștere?
17 How thy garments become warm, When he maketh the earth still by the south wind?
Cum ți se încălzesc hainele când el liniștește pământul prin vântul de sud?
18 Canst thou like him spread out the sky, Which is firm like a molten mirror?
Ai întins împreună cu el cerul, care este tare și ca o oglindă turnată?
19 Teach us what we shall say to him! For we cannot set in order our words by reason of darkness.
Învață-ne ce să îi spunem; căci nu ne putem rândui vorbirea din cauza întunericului.
20 Shall it be told him that I would speak? Shall a man speak, that he may be consumed?
I se va spune că eu vorbesc? Dacă un om vorbește, cu siguranță va fi înghițit.
21 For now men do not look upon the light, When it is bright in the skies, When the wind hath passed over them, and made them clear.
Și acum oamenii nu văd lumina strălucitoare din nori, dar vântul trece și îi curăță.
22 From the north cometh gold; But with God is terrible majesty!
Vreme bună vine din nord; cu Dumnezeu este înspăimântătoare maiestate.
23 The Almighty, we cannot find him out; Great is he in power and justice, Abundant in righteousness; he doth not oppress.
Dar cât despre cel Atotputernic, nu îl putem afla, el este măreț în putere și în judecată și în abundență a dreptății; el nu va chinui.
24 Therefore let men fear him! Upon none of the wise in heart will he look.
De aceea oamenii se tem de el, el nu părtinește pe niciunul dintre înțelepții în inimă.
