Job 33
1 Hear, therefore, my discourse, I pray thee, O Job! And attend unto all my words!
| ای ایوب، خواهش می‌کنم به حرفهای من گوش بده، |
2 Behold, I am opening my mouth; My tongue is now speaking in my palate.
| چون می‌خواهم با تو صحبت کنم. |
3 My words shall be in the uprightness of my heart; My lips shall utter knowledge purely.
| من با اخلاص و صداقت کامل، حقیقت را خواهم گفت، |
4 The spirit of God made me, And the breath of the Almighty gave me life.
| زیرا روح خدا مرا آفریده است و نَفَس قادر مطلق به من زندگی بخشیده است. |
5 If thou art able, answer me; Set thyself in array against me; stand up!
| اگر توانستی جوابم را بدهی درنگ نکن، دعوی خود را آماده کن و در برابرم بایست. |
6 Behold, I, like thee, am a creature of God; I also was formed of clay.
| من هم مثل تو از گِل سرشته شده‌ام و هر دو ما مخلوق خدا هستیم، |
7 Behold, my terror cannot dismay thee, Nor can my greatness be heavy upon thee.
| پس لزومی ندارد از من بترسی. من تو را نخواهم ترساند و در تنگنا قرار نخواهم داد. |
8 Surely thou hast said in my hearing, I have heard the sound of thy words:
| من خود، این حرف را از دهان تو شنیده‌ام که گفته‌ای: |
9 “I am pure, and without transgression; I am clean, and there is no iniquity in me.
| «پاک و بی‌تقصیرم و مرتکب هیچ گناهی نشده‌ام. |
10 Behold, He seeketh causes of hostility against me; He regardeth me as his enemy.
| خدا پی بهانه می‌گردد تا در من خطایی بیابد و مرا دشمن خود محسوب کند. |
11 He putteth my feet in the stocks; He watcheth all my paths.”
| خدا پای مرا در کنده می‌گذارد و کوچکترین حرکت مرا زیر نظر می‌گیرد.» |
12 Behold, in this thou art not right; I will answer thee; For God is greater than man.
| اما ایوب تو اشتباه می‌کنی، زیرا خدا از انسان بزرگتر است. |
13 Why dost thou contend with Him? For he giveth no account of any of his doings.
| چرا شکایت می‌کنی که خدا برای کارهایی که می‌کند توضیحی به انسان نمی‌دهد؟ |
14 For God speaketh once, Yea, twice, when man regardeth it not.
| خدا به شیوه‌های گوناگون با انسان سخن می‌گوید، اما انسان توجه نمی‌کند. |
15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, When deep sleep falleth upon men, In slumber upon the bed;
| هنگامی که خواب عمیق انسان را در بسترش فرو می‌گیرد، خدا به‌وسیلۀ خوابها و رؤیاهای شب با او حرف می‌زند. |
16 Then openeth he the ears of men, And sealeth up for them admonition;
| گوشهای او را باز می‌کند و به او هشداری می‌دهد تا |
17 That he may turn man from his purpose, And hide pride from man.
| او را از گناه و تکبر باز دارد. |
18 Thus he saveth him from the pit, Yea, his life from perishing by the sword.
| او انسان را از هلاکت و مرگ می‌رهاند. |
19 He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, And with a continual agitation of his bones,
| و نیز او را در بستر بیماری با درد تأدیب می‌کند، و چنان دردی در استخوانهایش ایجاد می‌شود |
20 So that his mouth abhorreth bread, And his taste the choicest food;
| که او اشتهایش را از دست داده، حتی از لذیذترین خوراکها نیز بیزار می‌شود. |
21 His flesh is consumed, that it cannot be seen, And his bones, that were invisible, are naked;
| به قدری لاغر و ضعیف می‌شود که جز پوست و استخوان چیزی از او باقی نمی‌ماند |
22 Yea, his soul draweth near to the pit, And his life to the destroyers.
| و پایش به لب گور می‌رسد، و جانش به دست حاملان مرگ. |
23 But if there be with him a messenger, An interpreter, one of a thousand, Who may show unto man his duty,
| اما هرگاه یکی از هزاران فرشتۀ خدا، یک پیک مخصوصی، از آسمان ظاهر شود تا برایش شفاعت نموده، او را درستکار اعلام کند، |
24 Then will God be gracious to him, and say, “Save him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.”
| و او را مورد لطف خود قرار داده، بگوید: «او را از گور برهانید، چون برای او فدیه‌ای یافته‌ام.» |
25 His flesh shall became fresher than a child's; He shall return to the days of his youth.
| آنگاه بدن او مثل بدن یک طفل، سالم شده، دوباره جوان و قوی می‌گردد. |
26 He shall pray to God, and he will be favorable to him, And permit him to see his face with joy, And restore unto man his righteousness.
| هر وقت به حضور خدا دعا کند، خدا دعایش را شنیده، او را اجابت می‌کند و او با شادی خدا را پرستش می‌نماید و خدا او را به وضع خوب گذشته‌اش بر می‌گرداند. |
27 He shall sing among men, and say, “I sinned; I acted perversely; Yet hath he not requited me for it:
| سپس او به مردم خواهد گفت: «من گناه کردم و به راستی عمل ننمودم ولی خدا از سر تقصیرم گذشت. |
28 He hath delivered me from going down to the pit, And my life beholdeth the light.”
| او نگذاشت بمیرم و از نور زندگی محروم گردم.» |
29 Lo! all these things doeth God Time after time with man,
| خدا بارها این کار را برای انسان انجام می‌دهد |
30 That he may bring him back from the pit, That he may enjoy the light of the living.
| و جان او را از مرگ می‌رهاند تا نور زندگی بر او بتابد. |
31 Mark well, O Job! hearken to me! Keep silence, and I will speak.
| ای ایوب، به آنچه که گفتم خوب توجه کن و بگذار به سخنانم ادامه دهم؛ |
32 Yet if thou hast any thing to say, answer me! Speak! for I desire to pronounce thee innocent.
| ولی اگر چیزی برای گفتن داری، بگو؛ می‌خواهم آن را بشنوم، چون به هیچ وجه مایل نیستم که ابهامی برایت باقی بماند. |
33 But if not, do thou listen to me! Keep silence, and I will teach thee wisdom!
| اما اگر حرفی برای گفتن نداری به من گوش بده و خاموش باش تا به تو حکمت بیاموزم! |
