Job 33
1 Hear, therefore, my discourse, I pray thee, O Job! And attend unto all my words!
Slyšiž tedy, prosím, Jobe, řeči mé, a všech slov mých ušima svýma pozoruj.
2 Behold, I am opening my mouth; My tongue is now speaking in my palate.
Aj, jižť otvírám ústa svá, mluví jazyk můj v ústech mých.
3 My words shall be in the uprightness of my heart; My lips shall utter knowledge purely.
Upřímost srdce mého a umění vynesou rtové moji.
4 The spirit of God made me, And the breath of the Almighty gave me life.
Duch Boha silného učinil mne, a dchnutí Všemohoucího dalo mi život.
5 If thou art able, answer me; Set thyself in array against me; stand up!
Můžeš-li, odpovídej mi, připrav se proti mně, a postav se.
6 Behold, I, like thee, am a creature of God; I also was formed of clay.
Aj, já podlé žádosti tvé buduť místo Boha silného; z bláta sformován jsem i já.
7 Behold, my terror cannot dismay thee, Nor can my greatness be heavy upon thee.
Pročež strach ze mne nepředěsí tě, a ruka má nebudeť k obtížení.
8 Surely thou hast said in my hearing, I have heard the sound of thy words:
Řekl jsi pak přede mnou, a hlas ten řečí tvých slyšel jsem:
9 “I am pure, and without transgression; I am clean, and there is no iniquity in me.
Èist jsem, bez přestoupení, nevinný jsem, a nepravosti při mně není.
10 Behold, He seeketh causes of hostility against me; He regardeth me as his enemy.
Aj, příčiny ku potření mne shledal Bůh, klade mne sobě za nepřítele,
11 He putteth my feet in the stocks; He watcheth all my paths.”
Svírá poutami nohy mé, střeže všech stezek mých.
12 Behold, in this thou art not right; I will answer thee; For God is greater than man.
Aj, tím nejsi spravedliv, odpovídám tobě, nebo větší jest Bůh nežli člověk.
13 Why dost thou contend with Him? For he giveth no account of any of his doings.
Oč se s ním nesnadníš? Žeť všech svých věcí nezjevuje?
14 For God speaketh once, Yea, twice, when man regardeth it not.
Ano jednou mluví Bůh silný, i dvakrát, a nešetří toho člověk.
15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, When deep sleep falleth upon men, In slumber upon the bed;
Skrze sny u vidění nočním, když připadá hluboký sen na lidi ve spaní na ložci,
16 Then openeth he the ears of men, And sealeth up for them admonition;
Tehdáž odkrývá ucho lidem, a čemu je učí, to zpečeťuje,
17 That he may turn man from his purpose, And hide pride from man.
Aby odtrhl člověka od skutku zlého, a pýchu od muže vzdálil,
18 Thus he saveth him from the pit, Yea, his life from perishing by the sword.
A zachoval duši jeho od jámy, a život jeho aby netrefil na meč.
19 He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, And with a continual agitation of his bones,
Tresce i bolestí na lůži jeho, a všecky kosti jeho násilnou nemocí,
20 So that his mouth abhorreth bread, And his taste the choicest food;
Tak že sobě život jeho oškliví pokrm, a duše jeho krmi nejlahodnější.
21 His flesh is consumed, that it cannot be seen, And his bones, that were invisible, are naked;
Hyne tělo jeho patrně, a vyhlédají kosti jeho, jichž prvé nebylo vídati.
22 Yea, his soul draweth near to the pit, And his life to the destroyers.
A tak bývá blízká hrobu duše jeho, a život jeho smrtelných ran.
23 But if there be with him a messenger, An interpreter, one of a thousand, Who may show unto man his duty,
Však bude-li míti anděla vykladače jednoho z tisíce, kterýž by za člověka oznámil pokání jeho:
24 Then will God be gracious to him, and say, “Save him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.”
Tedy smiluje se nad ním, a dí: Vyprosť jej, ať nesstoupí do porušení, oblíbilť jsem mzdu vyplacení.
25 His flesh shall became fresher than a child's; He shall return to the days of his youth.
I odmladne tělo jeho nad dítěcí, a navrátí se ke dnům mladosti své.
26 He shall pray to God, and he will be favorable to him, And permit him to see his face with joy, And restore unto man his righteousness.
Kořiti se bude Bohu, a zamiluje jej, a patřiti bude na něj tváří ochotnou; nadto navrátí člověku spravedlnost jeho.
27 He shall sing among men, and say, “I sinned; I acted perversely; Yet hath he not requited me for it:
Kterýž hledě na lidi, řekne: Zhřešilť jsem byl, a to, což pravého bylo, převrátil jsem, ale nebylo mi to prospěšné.
28 He hath delivered me from going down to the pit, And my life beholdeth the light.”
Bůh však vykoupil duši mou, aby nešla do jámy, a život můj, aby světlo spatřoval.
29 Lo! all these things doeth God Time after time with man,
Aj, všeckoť to dělá Bůh silný dvakrát i třikrát při člověku,
30 That he may bring him back from the pit, That he may enjoy the light of the living.
Aby odvrátil duši jeho od jámy, a aby osvícen byl světlem živých.
31 Mark well, O Job! hearken to me! Keep silence, and I will speak.
Pozoruj, Jobe, poslouchej mne, mlč, ať já mluvím.
32 Yet if thou hast any thing to say, answer me! Speak! for I desire to pronounce thee innocent.
Jestliže máš slova, odpovídej mi, nebo bych chtěl ospravedlniti tebe.
33 But if not, do thou listen to me! Keep silence, and I will teach thee wisdom!
Pakli nic, ty mne poslouchej; mlč, a poučím tě moudrosti.
