Job 3
1 At length Job opened his mouth, and cursed the day of his birth.
१यानंतर, ईयोबाने आपले तोंड उघडले आणि आपल्या जन्मदिवसास शाप दिला.
2 And Job spake and said:
२तो (ईयोब) म्हणाला,
3 Perish the day in which I was born, and the night which said, “A man-child is conceived!”
३“मी ज्या दिवशी जन्मलो तो दिवस नष्ट होवो, मुलाची गर्भधारणा झाली अशी जी रात्र म्हणाली ती भस्म होवो.
4 Let that day be darkness; Let not God seek it from above; Yea, let not the light shine upon it!
४तो दिवस अंधकारमय होवो, देवाला त्याचे विस्मरण होवो, त्यावर सुर्यप्रकाश पडला नसता तर फार बरे झाले असते.
5 Let darkness and the shadow of death redeem it; Let a cloud dwell upon it; Let whatever darkeneth the day terrify it!
५मृत्यूची सावली आणि अंधार त्यास आपल्या स्वतःचा समजो, ढग सदैव त्यावर राहो, जी प्रत्येक गोष्ट दिवसाचा अंधार करते ती त्यास खरेच भयभीत करो,
6 As for that night, let darkness seize upon it; Let it not rejoice among the days of the year; Let it not come into the number of the months!
६ती रात्र काळोख घट्ट पकडून ठेवो, वर्षाच्या दिवसांमध्ये ती आनंद न पावो. महिन्याच्या तिथीत तिची गणती न होवो.
7 O let that night be unfruitful! Let there be in it no voice of joy;
७पाहा, ती रात्र फलीत न होवो, तिच्यातून आनंदाचा ध्वनी न येवो.
8 Let them that curse the day curse it, Who are skilful to stir up the leviathan!
८जे लिव्याथानाला जागविण्यात निपुण आहेत ते त्या दिवसास शाप देवो.
9 Let the stars of its twilight be darkened; Let it long for light, and have none; Neither let it see the eyelashes of the morning!
९त्या दिवसाच्या पहाटेचे तारे काळे होत. तो दिवस प्रकाशाची वाट पाहो पण तो कधी न मिळो, त्याच्या पापण्यास उषःकालाचे दर्शन न घडो.
10 Because it shut not up the doors of my mother's womb, And hid not trouble from mine eyes.
१०कारण तिने माझ्या जननीचे ऊदरद्वार बंद केले नाही, आणखी हे दुःख माझ्या डोळ्यापासून लपवीले नाही.
11 Why died I not at my birth? Why did I not expire when I came forth from the womb?
११उदरातुन बाहेर आलो तेव्हाच मी का मरण पावलो नाही? माझ्या आईने मला जन्म देताच मी का प्राण त्यागला नाही?
12 Why did the knees receive me, And why the breasts, that I might suck?
१२तिच्या मांडयानी माझा स्विकार का केला? किंवा मी जगावे म्हणून तिच्या स्तनांनी माझा स्विकार का केला?
13 For now should I lie down and be quiet; I should sleep; then should I be at rest,
१३तर मी आता निश्चिंत खाली पडून राहीलो असतो, मी झोपलो असतो आणि विश्रांती पावलो असतो.
14 With kings and counsellors of the earth, Who built up for themselves—ruins!
१४पृथ्वीवरील राजे आणि सल्लागार, ज्यांनी आपल्यासाठी कबरा बांधल्या त्या आता उध्वस्त झाल्या आहेत.
15 Or with princes that had gold, And filled their houses with silver;
१५किंवा ज्या राजकुमारांनी आपली घरे सोन्या रुप्यांनी भरली त्यांच्या बरोबरच मलाही मरण आले असते तर बरे झाले असते.
16 Or, as a hidden untimely birth, I had perished; As infants which never saw the light.
१६कदाचित मी जन्मापासूनच मृत मूल का झालो नाही, किंवा प्रकाश न पाहिलेले अर्भक मी असतो तर बरे झाले असते.
17 There the wicked cease from troubling; There the weary are at rest.
१७तेथे गेल्यानंतरच दुष्ट त्रास देण्याचे थांबवितात. तेथे दमलेल्यांना आराम मिळतो.
18 There the prisoners rest together; They hear not the voice of the oppressor.
१८तेथे कैदीही सहज एकत्र राहतात, तेथे त्यांना गुलाम बनविणाऱ्यांचे ओरडणे ऐकू येत नाही.
19 The small and the great are there, And the servant is free from his master.
१९लहान आणि थोर तेथे आहेत, तेथे गुलाम त्यांच्या मालकापासून मुक्त आहेत.
20 Why giveth He light to him that is in misery, And life to the bitter in soul,
२०दुर्दशेतील लोकांस प्रकाश का दिल्या जातो, जे मनाचे कटू आहेत अशांना जीवन का दिले जाते,
21 Who long for death, and it cometh not, And dig for it more than for hid treasures;
२१ज्याला मरण पाहीजे त्यास मरण येत नाही, दु: खी मनुष्य गुप्त खजिन्यापेक्षा मृत्यूच्या अधिक शोधात असतो?
22 Who rejoice exceedingly, Yea, exult, when they can find a grave?
२२त्यास थडगे प्राप्त झाले म्हणजे ते हर्षीत होतात, त्यास अति आनंद होतो?
23 Why is light given to a man from whom the way is hid, And whom God hath hedged in?
२३ज्या पुरूषाचा मार्ग लपलेला आहे, देवाने ज्या पुरुषाला कुपंणात ठेवले आहे अशाला प्रकाश का मिळतो?
24 For my sighing cometh before I eat, And my groans are poured out like water.
२४मला जेवणाऐवजी उसासे मिळत आहेत! माझे कण्हने, पाण्यासारखे बाहेर ओतले जात आहे.
25 For that which I dread overtaketh me; That at which I shudder cometh upon me.
२५ज्या गोष्टींना मी घाबरतो त्याच गोष्टी माझ्यावर येतात. मी ज्याला भ्यालो तेच माझ्यावर आले.
26 I have no peace, nor quiet, nor respite: Misery cometh upon me continually.
२६मी निश्चिंत नाही, मी स्वस्थ नाही, आणि मला विसावा नाही. तरी आणखी पीडा येत आहे.”
