Job 29
1 Moreover Job continued his discourse, and said:
೧ತರುವಾಯ ಯೋಬನು ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾಪವನ್ನೆತ್ತಿ ಇಂತೆಂದನು,
2 O that I were as in months past, In the days when God was my guardian;
೨“ಅಯ್ಯೋ ನಾನು ಹಿಂದಿನ ತಿಂಗಳುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದಂತೆ ಈಗಲೂ ಇದ್ದರೆ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಸಂತೋಷವಾಗಿತ್ತು! ಆ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದನಲ್ಲಾ!
3 When his lamp shined over my head, And when by his light I walked through darkness!
೩ಆತನ ದೀಪವು ನನ್ನ ತಲೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಪ್ರಕಾಶಿಸುತ್ತಿತ್ತು, ಆತನ ಬೆಳಕಿನಿಂದ ಕತ್ತಲಲ್ಲೂ ಸಂಚರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆನು.
4 As I was in the autumn of my days, When the friendship of God was over my tent;
೪ಆ ದಿನಗಳು ನನ್ನ ಜೀವಮಾನದ ಸುಗ್ಗೀಕಾಲವು, ದೇವರ ಸ್ನೇಹವು ನನ್ನ ಗುಡಾರವನ್ನು ಆವರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿತ್ತು.
5 When the Almighty was yet with me, And my children were around me;
೫ಸರ್ವಶಕ್ತನಾದ ದೇವರು ಇನ್ನೂ ನನ್ನೊಂದಿಗಿದ್ದನು, ನನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ನನ್ನ ಸುತ್ತಲಿದ್ದರು.
6 When I bathed my steps in milk, And the rock poured me out rivers of oil!
೬ಹಾಲು ತುಪ್ಪದಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ಪಾದಗಳನ್ನು ತೊಳೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆ, ಬಂಡೆಯು ನನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಎಣ್ಣೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರವಾಹವಾಗಿ ಸುರಿಸುತ್ತಿತ್ತು.
7 When I went forth to the gate by the city, And took my seat in the market-place,
೭ಊರ ಮುಂದಿನ ಚಾವಡಿಗೆ ಹೋದಾಗಲೂ, ಚೌಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಸನವನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಾಗಲೂ
8 The young men saw me and hid themselves, And the aged arose and stood.
೮ಯೌವನಸ್ಥರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಪಕ್ಕಕ್ಕೆ ಸರಿದು ನಿಲ್ಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು, ವೃದ್ಧರು ಎದ್ದು ನಿಂತರು.
9 The princes refrained from speaking, And laid their hand upon their mouth.
೯ಪ್ರಭುಗಳು ಮೌನವಾಗಿ ಬಾಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೈಯಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡರು.
10 The nobles held their peace, And their tongue cleaved to the roof of their mouth.
೧೦ಮುಖಂಡರ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯು ಸೇದಿಹೋಗಿ ಧ್ವನಿಯಡಗಿತು.
11 When the ear heard me, then it blessed me; And when the eye saw me, it gave witness to me.
೧೧ಕೇಳಿದ ಕಿವಿಯು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹರಸಿತು, ನೋಡಿದ ಕಣ್ಣು ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿತು.
12 For I delivered the poor, when they cried; And the fatherless, who had none to help him.
೧೨ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅಂಗಲಾಚುವ ಬಡವನನ್ನೂ, ಸಹಾಯಕನಿಲ್ಲದ ಅನಾಥನನ್ನೂ ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದೆನು.
13 The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me, And I caused the heart of the widow to sing for joy.
೧೩ಗತಿಯಿಲ್ಲದವನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹರಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು, ವಿಧವೆಯ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ಉತ್ಸಾಹಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆನು.
14 I clothed myself with righteousness, and it clothed itself with me; And justice was my robe and diadem.
೧೪ನಾನು ಧರ್ಮವನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡೆನು, ಧರ್ಮವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿತು. ನನ್ನ ನ್ಯಾಯವೇ ನನಗೆ ನಿಲುವಂಗಿಯೂ, ಕಿರೀಟವೂ ಆಗಿತ್ತು.
15 I was eyes to the blind, And feet was I to the lame;
೧೫ನಾನು ಕುರುಡನಿಗೆ ಕಣ್ಣಾಗಿಯೂ, ಕುಂಟನಿಗೆ ಕಾಲಾಗಿಯೂ ಇದ್ದೆನು.
16 I was a father to the poor, And the cause of him I knew not I searched out;
೧೬ದರಿದ್ರರಿಗೆ ತಂದೆಯಾಗಿ, ಪರಿಚಯವಿಲ್ಲದವನ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ವಿಚಾರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆನು.
17 And I broke the teeth of the wicked, And plucked the spoil from his jaws.
೧೭ಅನ್ಯಾಯಗಾರನ ಕೋರೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮುರಿದು, ಅವನ ಹಲ್ಲುಗಳಿಂದ ಬೇಟೆಯನ್ನು ಕಿತ್ತು ತರುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆನು.
18 Then said I, “I shall die in my nest; I shall multiply my days as the sand.
೧೮ಆಗ ನಾನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ, ‘ನನ್ನ ಗೂಡಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ನಾನು ಸಾಯುವೆನು, ನನ್ನ ದಿನಗಳು ಮರಳಿನಂತೆ ಅಸಂಖ್ಯವಾಗಿರುವವು.
19 My root is spread abroad to the waters, And the dew abideth on my branches.
೧೯ನನ್ನ ಬೇರುಗಳು ನೀರಿನವರೆಗೂ ವ್ಯಾಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವವು, ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಬ್ಬನಿಯು ನನ್ನ ರೆಂಬೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದಿರುವುದು.
20 My glory is fresh with me, And my bow gathereth strength in my hand.”
೨೦ನನ್ನ ಮಾನವು ಹೊಸದಾಗುತ್ತಲೂ, ನನ್ನ ಬಿಲ್ಲು ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಲಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಲೂ ಇರುವವು’ ಎಂಬುದೇ.
21 To me men gave ear, and waited, And kept silence for my counsel.
೨೧ಜನರು ಕಾದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದು ನನ್ನ ಮಾತಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಟ್ಟು, ನನ್ನ ಆಲೋಚನೆಯನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಮೌನವಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
22 To my words they made no reply, When my speech dropped down upon them.
೨೨ನಾನು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ, ನನ್ನ ವಚನವೃಷ್ಟಿಯು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೀಳುತ್ತಿತ್ತು,
23 Yea, they waited for me as for the rain; They opened their mouths wide as for the latter rain.
೨೩ಮಳೆಯನ್ನು ಹೇಗೋ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಎದುರು ನೋಡುತ್ತಾ, ಮುಂಗಾರಿಗೋ ಎಂಬಂತೆ ಬಾಯ್ದೆರೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
24 If I smiled upon them, they believed it not; Nor did they cause the light of my countenance to fall.
೨೪ನಾನು ಅವರನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ನಗಲು ಅವರು ಧೈರ್ಯಗೆಟ್ಟರು, ನನ್ನ ಮುಖಕಾಂತಿಯನ್ನೋ ಅವರು ಎಂದೂ ಕುಂದಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.
25 When I came among them, I sat as chief; I dwelt as a king in the midst of an army, As a comforter among mourners.
೨೫ನಾನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟು, ತನ್ನ ಸೈನ್ಯಗಳ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತಿರುವ ರಾಜನಂತೆಯೂ, ದುಃಖಿತರನ್ನು ಸಂತೈಸುವ ಮುಖಂಡನಾಗಿ ಆಸೀನನಾಗಿದ್ದೆನು.”
