Job 28
1 Truly there is a vein for silver, And a place for gold, which men refine.
ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ରୂପାର ଆକର ଅଛି ଓ ଲୋକମାନେ ଯେଉଁ ସୁବର୍ଣ୍ଣ ପରିଷ୍କାର କରନ୍ତି, ତହିଁର ସ୍ଥାନ ଅଛି।
2 Iron is obtained from earth, And stone is melted into copper.
ମୃତ୍ତିକାରୁ ଲୁହା କଢ଼ାଯାଏ ଓ ଧାତୁ ପ୍ରସ୍ତରରୁ ପିତ୍ତଳ ତରଳାଯାଏ।
3 Man putteth an end to darkness; He searcheth to the lowest depths For the stone of darkness and the shadow of death.
ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ଅନ୍ଧକାରର ସୀମା ନିର୍ଣ୍ଣୟ କରେ ଓ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତସୀମା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ନିବିଡ଼ ଅନ୍ଧକାର ଓ ମୃତ୍ୟୁୁଚ୍ଛାୟାସ୍ଥିତ ପ୍ରସ୍ତରସବୁ ଅନୁସନ୍ଧାନ କରେ।
4 From the place where they dwell they open a shaft; Forgotten by the feet, They hang down, they swing away from men.
ସେ ମନୁଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରବାସ-ସ୍ଥାନରୁ ଦୂରରେ ସୁଡ଼ଙ୍ଗ ଖୋଳେ; ସେମାନେ ନିକଟଗାମୀ ଚରଣ ଦ୍ୱାରା ବିସ୍ମୃତ ହୁଅନ୍ତି; ସେମାନେ ମନୁଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଦୂରରେ ଝୁଲନ୍ତି, ସେମାନେ ଏଣେତେଣେ ଦୋହଲନ୍ତି।
5 The earth, out of which cometh bread, Is torn up underneath, as it were by fire.
ମୃତ୍ତିକାରୁ ଖାଦ୍ୟ ଉତ୍ପନ୍ନ ହୁଏ ଓ ତହିଁର ଅଧୋଭାଗ ଅଗ୍ନି ଦ୍ୱାରା ଲଣ୍ଡଭଣ୍ଡ ହେଲା ପରି ହୁଏ।
6 Her stones are the place of sapphires, And she hath clods of gold for man.
ତହିଁର ପ୍ରସ୍ତର ନୀଳକାନ୍ତମଣିର ସ୍ଥାନ ଓ ତହିଁରେ ସୁବର୍ଣ୍ଣ ରେଣୁ ଥାଏ।
7 The path thereto no bird knoweth, And the vulture's eye hath not seen it;
କୌଣସି ଶିକାରୀ ପକ୍ଷୀ ସେହି ପଥ ଜାଣେ ନାହିଁ, କିଅବା ବାଜପକ୍ଷୀର ଚକ୍ଷୁ ହିଁ ତାହା ଦେଖି ନାହିଁ;
8 The fierce wild beast hath not trodden it; The lion hath not passed over it.
ଦର୍ପୀ ପଶୁଗଣ ତହିଁରେ ଗତାୟାତ କରି ନାହାନ୍ତି, ଅବା ଭୟାନକ ସିଂହ ତହିଁ ନିକଟ ଦେଇ ଯାଇ ନାହିଁ।
9 Man layeth his hand upon the rock; He upturneth mountains from their roots;
ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ଦୃଢ଼ ଶୈଳ ଉପରେ ଆପଣା ହାତ ଦିଏ; ସେ ପର୍ବତଗଣକୁ ସମୂଳେ ଓଲଟାଇ ପକାଏ।
10 He cleaveth out streams in the rocks, And his eye seeth every precious thing;
ସେ ଶୈଳ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ନାଳ କାଟେ ଓ ତାହାର ଚକ୍ଷୁ ସର୍ବପ୍ରକାର ବହୁମୂଲ୍ୟ ଦ୍ରବ୍ୟ ଦେଖେ।
11 He bindeth up the streams, that they trickle not, And bringeth hidden things to light.
ନ ଝରିବା ପାଇଁ ସେ ଜଳସ୍ରୋତ ବନ୍ଦ କରେ; ଆଉ, ସେ ଆଲୁଅକୁ ଗୁପ୍ତ ଦ୍ରବ୍ୟ ଆଣେ।
12 But where shall wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding?
ମାତ୍ର ଜ୍ଞାନ କେଉଁଠାରେ ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ହୁଏ? ଓ ବୁଦ୍ଧିର ସ୍ଥାନ କାହିଁ?
13 Man knoweth not the price thereof, Nor can it be found in the land of the living.
ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ତହିଁର ମୂଲ୍ୟ ଜାଣେ ନାହିଁ; କିଅବା ଜୀବିତମାନଙ୍କ ଦେଶରେ ତାହା ମିଳେ ନାହିଁ।
14 The deep saith, It is not in me; And the sea saith, It is not with me.
ବାରିଧି କହେ, ‘ତାହା ମୋʼ ଠାରେ ନାହିଁ;’ ପୁଣି, ସମୁଦ୍ର କହେ, ‘ତାହା ମୋʼ ଠାରେ ନାହିଁ।’
15 It cannot be gotten for gold, Nor shall silver be weighed out as the price thereof.
ସୁବର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଦ୍ୱାରା ତାହା ପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ହୋଇ ନ ପାରେ, କିଅବା ତହିଁର ମୂଲ୍ୟାର୍ଥେ ରୂପା ତୌଲା ଯିବ ନାହିଁ।
16 It cannot be bought with the gold of Ophir, With the precious onyx or the sapphire.
ଓଫୀରର ସୁବର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଦ୍ୱାରା ତହିଁର ମୂଲ୍ୟ କରାଯାଇ ନ ପାରେ, ବହୁମୂଲ୍ୟ ଗୋମେଦକ ଅବା ନୀଳକାନ୍ତମଣି ଦ୍ୱାରା ନୁହେଁ।
17 Gold and crystal are not to be compared with it; Nor can it be purchased with jewels of fine gold.
ସ୍ୱର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଓ କାଚ ତହିଁର ସମାନ ହୋଇ ନ ପାରେ; କିଅବା ଶୁଦ୍ଧ ସ୍ୱର୍ଣ୍ଣାଭରଣ ତହିଁର ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତ ହେବ ନାହିଁ।
18 No mention shall be made of coral or of crystal; For wisdom is more precious than pearls.
ତହିଁ ନିକଟରେ ପ୍ରବାଳ ଓ ସ୍ପଟିକର କଥା କୁହାଯାଏ ନାହିଁ; କାରଣ ପଦ୍ମରାଗ ମଣି ଅପେକ୍ଷା ଜ୍ଞାନର ମୂଲ୍ୟ ଅଧିକ।
19 The topaz of Ethiopia cannot equal it, Nor can it be purchased with pure gold.
କୂଶଦେଶୀୟ ପୀତମଣି ତହିଁର ସମାନ ହେବ ନାହିଁ, କିଅବା ନିର୍ମଳ ସୁବର୍ଣ୍ଣରେ ତହିଁର ମୂଲ୍ୟ କରାଯିବ ନାହିଁ।
20 Whence then cometh wisdom? And where is the place of understanding?
ତେବେ ଜ୍ଞାନ କେଉଁଠାରୁ ଆସେ? ଓ ବୁଦ୍ଧିର ସ୍ଥାନ କାହିଁ?
21 Since it is hidden from the eyes of all living, And kept close from the fowls of the air.
ତାହା ତ ସମସ୍ତ ପ୍ରାଣୀଙ୍କ ଚକ୍ଷୁରୁ ଗୁପ୍ତ ଓ ଆକାଶର ପକ୍ଷୀମାନଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଆବୃତ କରାଯାଇଅଛି।
22 Destruction and Death say, We have heard a rumor of it with our ears.
ବିନାଶ ଓ ମୃତ୍ୟୁୁ କହନ୍ତି, ‘ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସ୍ୱକର୍ଣ୍ଣରେ ତହିଁର ଜନରବ ଶୁଣିଅଛୁ।’
23 God knoweth the way to it; He knoweth its dwelling-place.
ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ତହିଁର ପଥ ଜାଣନ୍ତି ଓ ସେ ତହିଁର ସ୍ଥାନ ଜ୍ଞାତ ଅଛନ୍ତି।
24 For he seeth to the ends of the earth, And surveyeth all things under the whole heaven.
କାରଣ ସେ ପୃଥିବୀର ପ୍ରାନ୍ତ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଅନାଇ ଓ ସମୁଦାୟ ଆକାଶମଣ୍ଡଳର ଅଧଃସ୍ଥାନ ଦେଖି
25 When he gave the winds their weight, And meted out the waters by measure;
ବାୟୁର ଓଜନ ନିରୂପଣ କରନ୍ତି ଓ ପରିମାଣ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଜଳ ପରିମିତ କରନ୍ତି।
26 When he prescribed a law to the rain, And a path to the thunder-flash, —
ଯେତେବେଳେ ସେ ବୃଷ୍ଟିର ନିୟମ ନିରୂପଣ କଲେ ଓ ମେଘଗର୍ଜ୍ଜନର ବିଦ୍ୟୁତ୍ ପାଇଁ ପଥ ସ୍ଥିର କଲେ;
27 Then did he see it, and make it known; He established it, and searched it out.
ସେତେବେଳେ ସେ ତାହା ଦେଖିଲେ ଓ ତାହା ପ୍ରଚାର କଲେ; ସେ ତାହା ସ୍ଥାପନ କଲେ, ଆଉ ତହିଁର ତଦନ୍ତ କଲେ।
28 But he said unto man, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, And to depart from evil is understanding.
ପୁଣି, ସେ ମନୁଷ୍ୟକୁ କହିଲେ, ‘ଦେଖ, ପ୍ରଭୁ ବିଷୟକ ଭୟ ହିଁ ଜ୍ଞାନ ଓ କୁକ୍ରିୟା ତ୍ୟାଗ ହିଁ ବୁଦ୍ଧି।’”
