Job 20
1 Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said:
A odpowiadając Sofar Naamatczyk rzekł:
2 For this do my thoughts lead me to reply, And for this is my ardor within me.
Do tego mię myśli moje przywodzą, abym odpowiedział; przetożem się pospieszył.
3 I have heard my shameful rebuke; And the spirit, from my understanding, answereth for me.
Słyszałem mnie hańbiącą naganę; ale duch wyrozumienia mego odpowie za mię.
4 Knowest thou not, that from the days of old, From the time when man was placed upon the earth,
Izaż nie wiesz, że to jest od wieku, od tego czasu, jako postawił Bóg człowieka na ziemi?
5 The triumphing of the wicked hath been short, And the joy of the impious but for a moment?
Iż chwała niepobożnych krótka jest, a wesele obłudnika na mgnienie oka?
6 Though his greatness mount up to the heavens, And his head reach to the clouds,
By też wstąpiła aż do nieba hardość jego, a obłoku się dotknęła głowa jego:
7 Yet shall he perish for ever, and be mingled with dust; They who saw him shall say, Where is he?
A wszakże na wieki zginie jako gnój jego, a ci, którzy go widzieli, rzeką: Gdzież się podział?
8 He shall flee away like a dream, and shall not be found; Yea, he shall disappear like a vision of the nigh.
Uleci jako sen, a nie znajdą go; bo uciecze, jako widzenie nocne.
9 The eye also which saw him shall see him no more, And his dwelling-place shall never more behold him.
Oko, które go widziało, nie ogląda go więcej, i nie ujrzy go więcej miejsce jego.
10 His sons shall seek the favor of the poor, And their hands shall give back his wealth.
Synowie jego będą się korzyć ubogim; bo ręce jego muszą wracać, co wydarł.
11 His bones are full of his youth, But they shall lie down with him in the dust.
Kości jego napełnione są grzechami młodości jego, a w prochu z nim leżeć będą.
12 Though wickedness be sweet in his mouth, Though he hide it under his tongue,
A choć złość słodnieje w ustach jego, i tai ją pod językiem swoim;
13 Though he cherish it, and will not part with it, And keep it fast in his mouth,
Kocha się w niej, a nie opuszcza jej, zatrzymywając ją w pośrodku podniebienia swego:
14 Yet his meat shall be changed within him, And become to him the poison of asps.
Wszakże pokarm jego we wnętrznościach jego odmieni się; żółcią padalcową stanie się w trzewach jego.
15 He hath glutted himself with riches, And he shall throw them up again; Yea, God shall cast them out of his body.
Bogactwa, które pożarł, zwróci, a z brzucha jego wyżenie je Bóg.
16 He shall suck the poison of asps; The tongue of the viper shall destroy him.
Głowę padalcową ssać będzie; zabije go język jaszczurczy.
17 He shall never see the flowing streams, And the rivers of honey and milk.
Nie ogląda źródeł rzek, strumieni mówię miodu i masła.
18 The fruits of his toil he shall give back, and shall not enjoy them: It is substance to be restored, and he shall not rejoice therein.
Wróci pracę cudzą, a nie zażyje jej; i choć znowu nabędzie wielkich majętności, nie ucieszy się niemi.
19 Because he hath oppressed and abandoned the poor, And seized upon the house which he did not build;
Bo ubogich dręczył i opuszczał, złupił dom, którego nie budował; przetoż nic spokojnego nie poczuje w żywocie swoim,
20 Because he knew no rest in his bosom, He shall not save that in which he delighteth.
Ani rzeczy swych wdzięcznych nie będzie mógł zatrzymać.
21 Because nothing escaped his greediness, His prosperity shall not endure.
Nic nie zostanie z pokarmów jego, ani się rozmnoży dobro jego.
22 In the fulness of his abundance he shall be brought low; Every hand of the wretched shall come upon him.
Choćby i nazbyt miał wszystkiego, ściśniony będzie; wszelka ręka trapiących oburzy się nań.
23 He shall, indeed, have wherewith to fill himself: God shall send upon him the fury of his anger, And rain it down upon him for his food.
Choć będzie miał czem napełnić brzuch swój, przecież nań Bóg puści popędliwość gniewu swego, którą jako deszcz spuści nań, i na pokarmy jego.
24 If he fleeth from the iron weapon, The bow of brass shall pierce him through.
Gdy uciekać będzie przed bronią żelazną, przebije go łuk hartowny.
25 He draweth the arrow, and it cometh forth from his body; Yea, the glittering steel cometh out of his gall. Terrors are upon him;
Wyjęta będzie strzała z sajdaku wypuszczona, a grot przeniknie żółć jego; a gdy uchodzić będzie, ogarną go strachy.
26 Calamity of every kind is treasured up for him. A fire not blown shall consume him; It shall consume whatever is left in his tent.
Wszystkie nieszczęścia zasadziły się nań w tajemnych miejscach jego, a pożre go ogień nierozdymany: pozostały w przybytku jego utrapiony będzie.
27 The heavens shall reveal his iniquity, And the earth shall rise up against him.
Odkryją niebiosa złość jego, a ziemia powstanie przeciwko niemu.
28 The substance of his house shall disappear; It shall flow away in the day of His wrath.
Przeniesie się urodzaj domu jego; dobra jego rozpłyną się w dzień gniewu jego.
29 Such is the portion of the wicked man from God, And the inheritance appointed for him by the Almighty.
Tenci jest dział człowieka niepobożnego od Boga, to dziedzictwo naznaczone mu od Boga.
