< Job 16 >

1 But Job answered and said:
Ìgbà náà ní Jobu dáhùn, ó sì wí pé,
2 Of such things as these I have heard enough! Miserable comforters are ye all!
“Èmi ti gbọ́ irú ohun púpọ̀ bẹ́ẹ̀ rí ayọnilẹ́nu onítùnú ènìyàn ní gbogbo yín.
3 Will there ever be an end to words of wind? What stirreth thee up, that thou answerest?
Ọ̀rọ̀ asán lè ni òpin? Tàbí kí ni ó gbó ọ láyà tí ìwọ fi dáhùn?
4 I also might speak like you, If ye were now in my place; I might string together words against you, And shake my head at you.
Èmi pẹ̀lú le sọ bí ẹ̀yin; bí ọkàn yín bá wà ní ipò ọkàn mi, èmi le sọ ọ̀rọ̀ dáradára púpọ̀ sí yín ní ọrùn, èmi a sì mi orí mi sí i yín.
5 I would strengthen you with my mouth, And the consolation of my lips should sustain you.
Èmi ìbá fi ọ̀rọ̀ ẹnu mi gbà yín ni ìyànjú, àti ṣíṣí ètè mi ìbá sì tu ìbìnújẹ́ yín.
6 If I speak, my grief is not assuaged; And if I forbear, it doth not leave me.
“Bí èmi tilẹ̀ sọ̀rọ̀, ìbìnújẹ́ mi kò lọ; bí mo sì tilẹ̀ dákẹ́, níbo ni ìtùnú mí ko kúrò?
7 For now He hath quite exhausted me; Thou hast desolated all my house!
Ṣùgbọ́n nísinsin yìí, ó dá mi lágara; ìwọ Ọlọ́run mú gbogbo ẹgbẹ́ mi takété.
8 Thou hast seized hold of me, and this is a witness against me; My leanness riseth up and testifieth against me to my face.
Ìwọ fi ìhunjọ kùn mí lára, èyí tí o jẹ́rìí tì mí; àti rírù tí ó hàn lára mi, ó jẹ́rìí tì mí ní ojú.
9 His anger teareth my flesh, and pursueth me; He gnasheth upon me with his teeth; My adversary sharpeneth his eyes upon me.
Ọlọ́run fi i ìbínú rẹ̀ fà mí ya, ó sì gbóguntì mí; ó pa eyín rẹ̀ keke sí mi, ọ̀tá mi sì gbójú rẹ̀ sí mi.
10 They gape for me with their mouths; In scorn they smite me on the cheek; With one consent they assemble against me.
Wọ́n ti fi ẹnu wọn yẹ̀yẹ́ mi; Wọ́n gbá mi ní ẹ̀rẹ̀kẹ́ ni ìgbá ẹ̀gàn; wọ́n kó ara wọn pọ̀ sí mi.
11 God hath given me a prey to the unrighteous, And delivered me into the hands of the wicked.
Ọlọ́run ti fi mí lé ọwọ́ ẹni búburú, ó sì mú mi ṣubú sí ọwọ́ ènìyàn ìkà.
12 I was at ease, but he hath crushed me; He hath seized me by the neck, and dashed me in pieces; He hath set me up for his mark.
Mo ti jókòó jẹ́ẹ́, ṣùgbọ́n ó fà mí já; ó sì dì mí ni ọrùn mú, ó sì gbọ̀n mí túútúú, ó sì gbé mi kalẹ̀ láti ṣe àmì ìtafàsí rẹ̀;
13 His archers encompass me around; He pierceth my reins, and doth not spare; He poureth out my gall upon the ground.
àwọn tafàtafà rẹ̀ dúró yí mi káàkiri. Ó là mí láyà pẹ̀rẹ̀, kò si dá sí, ó sì tú òróòro ara mi dà sílẹ̀.
14 He breaketh me with breach upon breach; He rusheth upon me like a warrior.
Ìbàjẹ́ lórí ìbàjẹ́ ní ó fi bà mí jẹ́; ó súré kọlù mi bí jagunjagun.
15 I have sewed sackcloth upon my skin, And thrust my horn into the dust.
“Mo rán aṣọ ọ̀fọ̀ bò ara mi, mo sì rẹ̀ ìwo mi sílẹ̀ nínú erùpẹ̀.
16 My face is red with weeping, And upon my eyelids is deathlike darkness.
Ojú mi ti pọ́n fún ẹkún, òjìji ikú sì ṣẹ́ sí ìpéǹpéjú mi.
17 Yet is there no injustice in my bands. And my prayer hath been pure.
Kì í ṣe nítorí àìṣòótọ́ kan ní ọwọ́ mi; àdúrà mi sì mọ́ pẹ̀lú.
18 O earth! cover not thou my blood, And let there be no hiding-place for my cry!
“Háà! Ilẹ̀ ayé, ìwọ má ṣe bò ẹ̀jẹ̀ mi, kí ẹkún mi má ṣe wà ní ipò kan.
19 Yet even now, behold, my witness is in heaven, And he who knoweth me is on high.
Ǹjẹ́ nísinsin yìí kíyèsi i, ẹlẹ́rìí mi ń bẹ ní ọ̀run, ẹ̀rí mi sì ń bẹ lókè ọ̀run.
20 My friends have me in derision, But my eye poureth out tears unto God.
Àwọn ọ̀rẹ́ mi ń fi mí ṣẹ̀sín, ṣùgbọ́n ojú mi ń da omijé sọ́dọ̀ Ọlọ́run,
21 O that one might contend for a man with God, As a man contendeth with his neighbor!
ìbá ṣe pé ẹnìkan le è máa ṣe alágbàwí fún ẹnìkejì lọ́dọ̀ Ọlọ́run, bí ènìyàn kan ti í ṣe alágbàwí fún ẹnìkejì rẹ̀.
22 For when a few years shall have passed, I shall go the way whence I shall not return.
“Nítorí nígbà tí iye ọdún díẹ̀ rékọjá tán, nígbà náà ni èmi ó lọ sí ibi tí èmi kì yóò padà bọ̀.”
