Job 15
1 Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and said:
൧അതിന് തേമാന്യനായ എലീഫസ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞത്:
2 Should a wise man answer with arguments of wind, Or fill his bosom with the east wind?
൨“ജ്ഞാനിയായവൻ വ്യർത്ഥജ്ഞാനം പ്രസ്താവിക്കുമോ? അവൻ കിഴക്കൻ കാറ്റുകൊണ്ട് വയറുനിറയ്ക്കുമോ?
3 Should he argue with speech that helpeth him not, And with words which do not profit him?
൩അവൻ പ്രയോജനമില്ലാത്ത വാക്കുകളാലും ഉപകാരമില്ലാത്ത മൊഴികളാലും തർക്കിക്കുമോ?
4 Behold, thou makest the fear of God a vain thing, And discouragest prayer before him.
൪നീ ഭക്തി വെടിഞ്ഞ് ദൈവസന്നിധിയിലെ ധ്യാനം മുടക്കിക്കളയുന്നു.
5 Yea, thy own mouth proclaimeth thy iniquity, Though thou choosest the tongue of the crafty.
൫നിന്റെ അകൃത്യം നിന്റെ വായെ പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; ഉപായികളുടെ നാവ് നീ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
6 Thy own mouth condemneth thee, and not I; Thy own lips testify against thee.
൬ഞാനല്ല, നിന്റെ സ്വന്തവായ് നിന്നെ കുറ്റം വിധിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ അധരങ്ങൾ തന്നെ നിന്റെനേരെ സാക്ഷീകരിക്കുന്നു.
7 Art thou the first man that was born? Wast thou formed before the hills?
൭നീയോ ആദ്യം ജനിച്ച മനുഷ്യൻ? പർവ്വതങ്ങൾക്കും മുമ്പ് നീ പിറന്നുവോ?
8 Hast thou listened in the council of God, And drawn all wisdom to thyself?
൮നീ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലോചനസഭയിൽ കൂടിയിട്ടുണ്ടോ? ജ്ഞാനം നിന്റെ അവകാശം ആണോ?
9 What dost thou know, that we know not also? What dost thou understand, that is a secret to us?
൯ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് അറിയാത്തതായി നിനക്ക് എന്ത് അറിയാം? ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് മനസ്സിലാകാത്തതായി നീ എന്താണ് ഗ്രഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്?
10 With us are the aged and hoary-headed; Much older than thy father.
൧൦ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ നരച്ചവരും വൃദ്ധന്മാരും ഉണ്ട്; നിന്റെ അപ്പനേക്കാൾ പ്രായം ചെന്നവർ തന്നെ.
11 Dost thou despise the consolations of God, And words so full of kindness to thee?
൧൧ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആശ്വാസങ്ങളും സ്വന്തമായി പറഞ്ഞുതരുന്ന വാക്കും നിനക്ക് പോരയോ?
12 Why hath thy passion taken possession of thee? And why this winking of thine eyes?
൧൨നിന്റെ ഹൃദയം നിന്നെ പതറിക്കുന്നതെന്ത്? നിന്റെ കണ്ണ് ജ്വലിക്കുന്നതെന്ത്?
13 For against God hast thou turned thy spirit, And uttered such words from thy mouth.
൧൩നീ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നേരെ തിരിയുകയും നിന്റെ വായിൽനിന്ന് ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള വാക്കുകൾ പുറപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
14 What is man, that he should be pure, And he that is born of woman, that he should be innocent?
൧൪മർത്യൻ ശുദ്ധിമാനായിരിക്കുന്നതെങ്ങനെ? സ്ത്രീ പ്രസവിച്ചവൻ നീതിമാനായിരിക്കുന്നതെങ്ങനെ?
15 Behold, He putteth no trust in his ministering spirits, And the heavens are not pure in his sight;
൧൫തന്റെ വിശുദ്ധന്മാരിലും ദൈവത്തിന് വിശ്വാസമില്ലല്ലോ; സ്വർഗ്ഗവും അവിടുത്തെ കണ്ണിന് നിർമ്മലമല്ല.
16 Much less, abominable and polluted man, Who drinketh iniquity as water.
൧൬പിന്നെ വെറുപ്പും വഷളത്തവുമുള്ളവനായി വെള്ളംപോലെ അകൃത്യം കുടിക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യൻ എങ്ങനെ?
17 Hear me, and I will show thee, And that which I have seen will I declare;
൧൭ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ഉപദേശിക്കാം, കേട്ടുകൊള്ളുക; ഞാൻ കണ്ടിട്ടുള്ളത് വിവരിച്ചുപറയാം.
18 Which the wise men have told, And not kept concealed, as received from their fathers;
൧൮ജ്ഞാനികൾ അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോട് കേൾക്കുകയും മറച്ചുവയ്ക്കാതെ അറിയിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തതു തന്നേ.
19 To whom alone the land was given, And among whom not a stranger wandered.
൧൯അവർക്കുമാത്രമാണല്ലോ ദേശം നല്കിയിരുന്നത്; അന്യൻ അവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ കടക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.
20 “All his days the wicked man is in pain; Yea, all the years, that are laid up for the oppressor.
൨൦ദുഷ്ടൻ ജീവപര്യന്തം അതിവേദനയോടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; ഉപദ്രവകാരിക്ക് വച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ആണ്ടുകൾ തികയുവോളം തന്നെ.
21 A fearful sound is in his ears; In peace the destroyer cometh upon him.
൨൧ഭീകരശബ്ദം അവന്റെ ചെവിയിൽ മുഴങ്ങുന്നു; സുഖമായിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ കവർച്ചക്കാരൻ അവന്റെനേരെ വരുന്നു.
22 He hath no hope that he shall escape from darkness; He is set apart for the sword.
൨൨അന്ധകാരത്തിൽനിന്ന് മടങ്ങിവരുമെന്ന് അവൻ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നില്ല; അവൻ വാളിനിരയാകാൻ നിയമിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.
23 He wandereth about, seeking bread; He knoweth that a day of darkness is at hand.
൨൩അവൻ അപ്പം തെണ്ടിനടക്കുന്നു; ‘അത് എവിടെ കിട്ടും’ എന്ന് ചോദിക്കുന്നു? അന്ധകാരദിവസം തനിക്ക് അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് അവൻ അറിയുന്നു.
24 Distress and anguish fill him with dread; They prevail against him like a king ready for the battle.
൨൪കഷ്ടവും മനഃപീഡയും അവനെ ഭയപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു; പടക്കൊരുങ്ങിയ രാജാവെന്നപോലെ അവനെ ആക്രമിക്കുന്നു.
25 Because he stretched forth his hand against God, And bade defiance to the Almighty,
൨൫അവൻ ദൈവത്തിന് വിരോധമായി കൈ ഉയർത്തി, സർവ്വശക്തനോട് ധിക്കാരം കാട്ടിയതുകൊണ്ടു തന്നെ.
26 And ran against him with outstretched neck, With the thick bosses of his bucklers;
൨൬തന്റെ പരിചകളുടെ തടിച്ച മുഴകളോടുകൂടി അവൻ ശാഠ്യംകാണിച്ച് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നേരെ പാഞ്ഞുചെല്ലുന്നു.
27 Because he covered his face with fatness, And gathered fat upon his loins,
൨൭അവൻ തന്റെ മുഖത്തെ മേദസ്സുകൊണ്ട് മൂടുന്നു; തന്റെ അരക്കെട്ടിന് കൊഴുപ്പ് കൂട്ടുന്നു.
28 And dwelt in desolated cities, In houses which no man inhabiteth, That are ready to become heaps.
൨൮അവൻ ശൂന്യനഗരങ്ങളിലും ആരും പാർക്കാതെ കൽകൂമ്പാരങ്ങളായിത്തീരുവാനുള്ള വീടുകളിലും പാർക്കുന്നു.
29 He shall not be rich; his substance shall not endure, And his possessions shall not be extended upon the earth.
൨൯അവൻ ധനവാനാകുകയില്ല; അവന്റെ സമ്പത്ത് നിലനില്‍ക്കുകയില്ല; അവരുടെ വിളവ് നിലത്തേക്കു കുലച്ചു മറികയുമില്ല.
30 He shall not escape from darkness, And the flame shall dry up his branches; Yea, by the breath of His mouth shall he be taken away.
൩൦ഇരുളിൽനിന്ന് അവൻ അകന്നു പോകുകയില്ല; അഗ്നിജ്വാല അവന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളെ ഉണക്കിക്കളയും; തിരുവായിലെ ശ്വാസംകൊണ്ട് അവൻ കടന്നുപോകും.
31 “Let not man trust in vanity! he will be deceived; For vanity shall be his recompense.
൩൧അവൻ വ്യാജത്തിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കരുത്; അത് സ്വയവഞ്ചനയത്രേ; അവന്റെ പ്രതിഫലം വ്യാജം തന്നെ ആയിരിക്കും.
32 He shall come to his end before his time, And his branch shall not be green.
൩൨അവന്റെ ദിവസം വരുംമുമ്പ് അത് നിവൃത്തിയാകും; അവന്റെ കൊമ്പുകൾ പച്ചയായിരിക്കുകയില്ല.
33 He shall shake off his unripe fruit like the vine, And shed his blossoms like the olive-tree.
൩൩മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയിൽ നിന്ന് എന്നപോലെ അവന്റെ പക്വമാകാത്ത പഴങ്ങൾ കൊഴിഞ്ഞുവീഴും. ഒലിവുവൃക്ഷംപോലെ പൂ പൊഴിക്കും.
34 The house of the unrighteous shall be famished, And fire shall consume the tents of bribery.
൩൪അഭക്തന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടം വന്ധ്യത പ്രാപിക്കും; കൈക്കൂലിയുടെ കൂടാരങ്ങൾ തീയ്ക്കിരയാകും.
35 They conceive mischief, and bring forth misery, And their breast deviseth deceit.”
൩൫അവർ കഷ്ടത്തെ ഗർഭംധരിച്ച് തിന്മയെ പ്രസവിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ ഉദരം വഞ്ചനയെ ഉളവാക്കുന്നു.
