Jeremiah 9
1 O that my head were waters, And mine eyes a fountain of tears, That I might weep day and night For the slain of the daughter of my people!
१जर माझे मस्तक पाण्याने भरलेले असते आणि माझे डोळे अश्रूंचे झरे असते तर मी माझ्या नाश पावलेल्या लोकांच्या कन्येसाठी अहोरात्र रडलो असतो तर किती बरे झाले असते.
2 O that I had a traveller's lodge in the wilderness, That I might leave my people, and go from them! For they are all adulterers; An assembly of revolters.
२जर वाळवंटात माझासाठी एक ठिकाण असते, तर मी माझ्या लोकांस सोडून त्यांच्यापासून खूप दूर गेलो असतो, कारण ते सर्व व्यभिचारी आणि विद्रोही असे आहेत.
3 They bend their tongues, like their bows, for lies, And not by truth do they grow mighty in the earth; They proceed from wickedness to wickedness, And have no regard to me, saith Jehovah.
३कारण ते त्यांच्या जिभेने खोटे बाण सोडतात, पण ते या पृथ्वीवर विश्वासूपणात मोठे नाहीत. ते एका पापाकडून दुसऱ्या पापाकडे जातात. ते मला ओळखत नाही, परमेश्वर असे म्हणातो.
4 Be on your guard each one against his neighbor, And trust ye not in any brother; For every brother will supplant, And every neighbor will slander.
४तुम्ही प्रत्येक आपल्या शेजाऱ्याविषयी सावध असा आणि कोणत्याही भावावर विश्वास ठेवू नका? कारण प्रत्येक भाऊ फसवणारा आहे आणि प्रत्येक शेजारी निंदा करणारा आहे.
5 They deceive every one his neighbor, And do not speak the truth; They have accustomed their tongues to speak lies; They weary themselves in doing iniquity.
५प्रत्येक मनुष्य आपल्या शेजाऱ्याची थट्टा करतो आणि सत्य बोलत नाही. त्यांची जीभ खोटे बोलते. दुष्टाई करण्यासाठी ते आपणाला दमवतात.
6 Thy habitation is in the midst of deceit, [[O prophet!]] Through deceit they refuse to know me, saith Jehovah.
६तू आपल्या कपटामध्ये राहतो, त्यांच्या कपटामुळे ते मला ओळखायला नाकारतात, असे परमेश्वर म्हणतो.
7 Therefore thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Behold I will melt them and try them; For what else can I do on account of the daughter of my people?
७यास्तव सेनाधीश परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो: पाहा! मी त्यांची परिक्षा घेईल आणि त्यांना तपासून पाहीन. कारण मी आपल्या लोकांच्या कन्येकरिता आणखी काय करू?
8 Their tongue is a deadly arrow; Every one of them speaketh treachery; With their mouth they speak peace to their neighbor, But in their heart they lay snares for him.
८त्यांच्या जिभा टोकदार बाणाप्रमाणे आहेत. त्या अविश्वासू गोष्टी बोलतात. प्रत्येकजण शेजाऱ्याशी वरवर चांगले बोलतो. पण गुप्तपणे ते शेजाऱ्यावर टपून असतात.
9 Shall I not punish them for these things? saith Jehovah; Shall I not be avenged on such a nation as this?
९या गोष्टींमुळे मी त्यांना शिक्षा करणार नाही काय? “अशा गोष्टींविषयी या राष्ट्रावर मी सूड उगवू नये का? परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो.
10 For the mountains will I lift up a weeping and wailing, And for the pastures of the plains a lamentation, For they are burned up, so that none can pass through them; No more is heard the voice of the cattle; Both the birds of the heavens and the beasts have fled, and are gone.
१०मी डोंगरासाठी आकांत व विलाप करीन आणि मी कुरणांसाठी शोकगीत गाईन. कारण ती जाळून टकली आहे, तेथून आता कोणीही प्रवास करीत नाही. त्यांना गुरांचा आवाजही ऐकू येत नाही. आकाशातील पक्षी आणि प्राणी दूर निघून गेले आहेत.
11 I will make Jerusalem heaps of stones, The dwelling-place of jackals; And I will make the cities of Judah desolate, without an inhabitant.
११म्हणून मी यरूशलेम नगरी कचऱ्याचा ढीग करीन. ते कोल्ह्यांचे वसतिस्थान होईल. मी यहूदातील नगरे नष्ट करीन. मग तेथे कोणीही राहणार नाही.”
12 Who is the wise man, that he may understand this, And he to whom the mouth of the Lord hath spoken, that he may declare it? Why is it that the land perisheth, That it is burned up like a desert, which none passeth through?
१२या गोष्टी समजण्याइतका सुज्ञ कोणी आहे का? परमेश्वराच्या मुखाने जे काही घोषीत केले, म्हणजे ते तो कळवू शकेल काय? या भूमीचा नाश का झाला? जेथे कोणीही जात नाही अशा वाळवंटासारखी ती का केली गेली.
13 Jehovah himself hath said: It is because they have forsaken my law, Which I set before them, And have not hearkened to my voice, Nor walked according to it;
१३परमेश्वर म्हणाला, “हे असे झाले कारण, त्यांनी माझ्या शिकवणुकीला सोडून दिले, जे मी त्यांच्या समोर ठेवली होती, आणि त्यांनी माझी वाणी ऐकाण्यास आणि त्यावर चालण्यास नकार दिला.
14 But have walked after the obstinacy of their own heart, And after the Baals, as their fathers taught them.
१४हे असे झाले कारण ते आपल्या दुराग्रही हृदयाच्या मर्जी प्रमाणे वागले आणि त्यांच्या वडिलांनी त्यांना शिकवल्या प्रमाणे, बालदेवास अनुसरले.”
15 Therefore thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will feed this people with wormwood, And give them water of hemlock to drink.
१५यास्तव सेनाधीश परमेश्वर, इस्राएलाचा देव असे म्हणतो, “मी या लोकांस कडू दवणा खायला लावीन आणि विषारी पाणी प्यायला लावीन.
16 I will also scatter them among nations Which neither they nor their fathers have known, And I will send after them the sword, Till I have made an end of them.
१६नंतर मी त्यांना आशा राष्ट्रांमध्ये विखरुन टाकीन त्यांनी किंवा त्यांच्या वडिलांनी पूर्वी कधीही ज्यांच्याबद्दल ऐकले नव्हते. आणि मी सर्व लोकांचा नाश होईपर्यंत त्यांच्या मागे तलवार पाठवीन.”
17 Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Consider ye, and call for the mourning women, that they may come, And send to the skilful ones, that they may come;
१७सेनाधीश परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो, “या गोष्टींचा विचार करा. प्रेतयात्रेच्या वेळी रडणाऱ्यांना बोलवा, त्यांना येऊ द्या. आक्रंदणात कुशल असलेल्या स्त्रियांना बोलवा, त्यांना येऊ द्या.
18 Let them make haste, and lift up a wailing for us, That our eyes may run down with tears, And our eyelids gush forth with waters.
१८त्यांनी घाईने आमच्यासाठी विलाप करवा. म्हणजे आमचे डोळे भरुन येतील आणि अश्रूंचा पूर येईल.
19 Behold, a voice of wailing is heard from Zion: “How are we spoiled! How are we put to shame! We must leave our native land; They have cast down our habitations.”
१९सियोनमधून विलापाचा आवाज ऐकायला येतो आहे. आम्ही कसे उद्ध्वस्त झालो आहोत, कारण आमची खरोखरच अप्रतिष्ठा झाली. आम्ही आपली भूमी सोडली आहे, कारण त्यांनी आमची घरे पाडून टाकली आहेत.”
20 Hear, O ye women, the word of Jehovah! Let your ear receive the word of his mouth! Teach your daughters a lamentation, And every one her companion a mournful dirge!
२०तर स्त्रियांनो, परमेश्वराचे वचन ऐका, त्याच्या मुखातील निघणाऱ्या संदेशाकडे चित्त लावा. नंतर तुमच्या मुलींना मोठ्याने विलाप करण्यास शिकव आणि शेजारील प्रत्येक स्त्रीला शोकगीत शिकवा.
21 For death cometh in through our windows, It entereth our palaces; It cutteth off the children from the street, And the young men from the public places.
२१कारण बाहेर असलेली मुले आणि चौकात तरुणांना नाहीसे करण्यास मृत्यू आमच्या खिडक्यातून चढून आला आहे. तो आमच्या राजवाड्यांमध्ये शिरला आहे.
22 Declare it, saith Jehovah! The dead bodies of men shall fall as dung upon the open field, And as the handful behind the reaper, Which none gathereth up.
२२असे सांग: परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो, जसे उघड्यावर खत पडते आणि कापणाऱ्या मागे पेंढीतून गळण पडते, तशी मनुष्याची प्रेते पडतील, आणि ती कोणी गोळा करणार नाहीत.
23 Thus saith Jehovah: Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Nor let the mighty glory in his might, Nor let the rich glory in his riches!
२३परमेश्वर म्हणतो, “शहाण्यांनी त्यांच्या शहाणपणाबद्दल, बलवानांनी त्यांच्या बळाबद्दल व श्रीमंतांनी त्यांच्या पैशाबद्दल अभिमान बाळगू नये.”
24 But let him that glorieth glory in this, That he hath regard to me, and knoweth me, That I am Jehovah, who exercise loving-kindness, Justice, and righteousness upon the earth; For in these do I delight, saith Jehovah.
२४पण जर कोणाला अभिमान बाळगायचा असेल या गोष्टीत बाळगावा, की तो मला समजतो आणि मला ओळखोतो, कारण मी परमेश्वर आहे, जो प्रामाणिकपणा व न्याय आणि नितीमानता या पृथ्वीवर चालवतो, कारण या गोष्टींमध्ये मला हर्ष वाटतो, परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो.
25 Behold the days come, saith Jehovah, That I will punish all the circumcised with the uncircumcised,
२५परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो, ज्यांची फक्त शारीरिक सुंता झाली आहे, अशांना शिक्षा करण्याचे दिवस येत आहेत.
26 Egypt, and Judah, and Edom, And the sons of Ammon and Moab, And all with shaven cheeks, that dwell in the wilderness. For all the nations are uncircumcised, And all the house of Israel is uncircumcised in heart.
२६मिसर, यहूदा, अदोम, अम्मोन, मवाब यातील व वाळवंटात राहणारे, ज्यांनी आपल्या डोक्यावरचे केस कापले त्यांना शासन करीन. कारण ही सर्व राष्ट्रे बेसुनत आहेत, आणि इस्राएलाचे सर्व घराणे बेसुनत हृदयाचे आहेत.
