Jeremiah 48

1 Concerning Moab. Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Woe to Nebo, for it is laid waste! Kiriathaim is confounded, is taken. Misgab is confounded and dismayed.

൧മോവാബിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള അരുളപ്പാട്. യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: നെബോവിന് അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം! അത് ശൂന്യമായിരിക്കുന്നു; കിര്യത്തയീമീം ലജ്ജിതയായി; അത് പിടിക്കപ്പെട്ടുപോയി; ഉയർന്ന കോട്ട ലജ്ജിച്ചു ഭ്രമിച്ചുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു.

2 Moab shall no more glory in Heshbon; They have devised evil against her; “Come, [[say they, ]] and let us cut her off from being a nation!” Thou also shalt be cut down, O Madmena, The sword shall pursue thee!

൨മോവാബിന്റെ പ്രശസ്തി നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടുപോയി; ഹെശ്ബോനിൽ അവർ അതിനെതിരായി അനർത്ഥം നിരൂപിക്കുന്നു; വരുവിൻ, അത് ഒരു ജനത ആയിരിക്കാത്തവണ്ണം നാം അതിനെ നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളയുക; മദ്മേനേ, നീയും നശിച്ചുപോകും; വാൾ നിന്നെ പിന്തുടരും.

3 A cry is heard from Horonaim, Desolation and great destruction.

൩ഹോരോനയീമിൽനിന്ന്: “നാശം, മഹാസംഹാരം” എന്നിങ്ങനെ നിലവിളികേൾക്കുന്നു.

4 Moab is destroyed; Her little ones raise a cry.

൪“മോവാബ് തകർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അതിന്റെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങൾ നിലവിളികൂട്ടുന്നു.

5 At the ascent of Luhith Weeping goeth up after weeping; At the descent of Horonaim is heard a bitter cry of despair.

൫ലൂഹീതിലേക്കുള്ള കയറ്റം അവർ കരഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ട് കയറിപ്പോകുന്നു; ഹോരോനയീമിലേക്കുള്ള ഇറക്കത്തിൽ സംഹാരത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള നിലവിളിയുടെ ആർത്തനാദം കേൾക്കുന്നു.

6 Flee ye! save your lives! Be ye like one that has been stripped in the wilderness!

൬ഓടിപ്പോകുവിൻ! പ്രാണനെ രക്ഷിക്കുവിൻ! മരുഭൂമിയിലെ ചൂരൽച്ചെടിപോലെ ആയിത്തീരുവിൻ!

7 For, because thou hast trusted in thy substance and thy treasures, Thou also shalt be taken And Chemosh shall go into captivity, His priests and his princes together.

൭നിന്റെ കോട്ടകളിലും ഭണ്ഡാരങ്ങളിലും ആശ്രയിച്ചിരിക്കുകകൊണ്ട് നീയും പിടിക്കപ്പെടും; കെമോശ് തന്റെ പുരോഹിതന്മാരോടും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടും കൂടി പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു പോകും.

8 The spoiler shall come upon every city, And no city shall escape. The valley shall perish, And the plain shall be destroyed, As Jehovah hath spoken.

൮കൊള്ളയിടുന്നവൻ എല്ലാ പട്ടണത്തിലും വരും; ഒരു പട്ടണവും രക്ഷപെടുകയില്ല; യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ താഴ്വര നശിച്ചുപോകും; സമഭൂമി ശൂന്യമായിത്തീരും.

9 Give wings to Moab, That she may flee away; For her cities shall be a desolation, With none to dwell therein.

൯മോവാബ് പറന്നുപോകേണ്ടതിന് അതിന് ചിറകു കൊടുക്കുവിൻ; അതിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങൾ നിവാസികൾ ഇല്ലാതെ ശൂന്യമായിപ്പോകും.

10 Cursed be he that doeth the work of Jehovah deceitfully, And cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood!

൧൦യഹോവയുടെ പ്രവൃത്തി ഉദാസീനതയോടെ ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ; രക്തം ചൊരിയാതെ വാൾ അടക്കിവക്കുന്നവൻ ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ;

11 Moab hath been at ease from his youth, And he hath settled on his lees, And hath not been drawn off from vessel to vessel, Neither hath he gone into captivity; Therefore his taste hath remained in him, And his flavor hath not changed.

൧൧മോവാബ് ബാല്യംമുതൽ സ്വസ്ഥമായി മട്ടിനു മുകളിൽ തെളിഞ്ഞുനിന്നു; അവനെ പാത്രത്തിൽനിന്നു പാത്രത്തിലേക്കു പകർന്നിട്ടില്ല; അവൻ പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു പോയിട്ടുമില്ല; അതുകൊണ്ട് അവന്റെ സ്വാദ് അവനിൽ തന്നെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ ഗന്ധം വ്യത്യാസപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുമില്ല.

12 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, That I will send to him tilters, who shall tilt him up, And shall empty his vessels, and break his pitchers in pieces.

൧൨അതിനാൽ പകരുന്നതുവരെ ഞാൻ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയയ്ക്കുവാനുള്ള കാലം വരുന്നു” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്; “അവർ അവനെ പകർന്നുകളയുകയും അവന്റെ പാത്രങ്ങൾ ശൂന്യമാക്കി, കുടങ്ങൾ ഉടച്ചുകളയുകയും ചെയ്യും.

13 And Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, As the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel, their confidence.

൧൩അവരുടെ ആശ്രയമായ ബേഥേലിനെക്കുറിച്ച് യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹം ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോയതുപോലെ മോവാബും കെമോശിനെക്കുറിച്ച് ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകും.

14 How will ye say, “We are mighty, And strong men for war”?

൧൪‘ഞങ്ങൾ വീരന്മാരും യുദ്ധസമർത്ഥന്മാരും ആകുന്നു’ എന്ന് നിങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നതെങ്ങനെ?

15 Moab is destroyed; His cities have gone up in smoke, And his chosen young men have gone down to slaughter, Saith the King whose name is Jehovah of hosts.

൧൫മോവാബ് കവർച്ച ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടു; അതിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങൾ തകർക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ ശ്രേഷ്ഠയുവാക്കൾ കൊലക്കളത്തിലേക്ക് ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെല്ലുന്നു” എന്ന് സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ എന്നു നാമമുള്ള രാജാവിന്റെ അരുളപ്പാട്.

16 The destruction of Moab is near at hand; His destruction hasteth fast.

൧൬മോവാബിന് ആപത്തു വരുവാൻ അടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ അനർത്ഥം വേഗത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടാകും.

17 All ye that are about him, bemoan him! And all ye that know him, say, “How is the strong sceptre broken, The splendid staff!”

൧൭അവന്റെ ചുറ്റുമുള്ള എല്ലാവരുമേ അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു വിലപിക്കുവിൻ! അവന്റെ നാമം അറിയുന്ന സകലരുമേ, ‘അയ്യോ ബലമുള്ള വടി, ഭംഗിയുള്ള കോൽ എങ്ങനെ ഒടിഞ്ഞു’ എന്നു പറയുവിൻ.

18 Come down from thy glory and sit in thirst, O inhabitant of Dibon! For the destroyer of Moab shall come against thee! He shall destroy thy strongholds. Stand by the wayside, and look out,

൧൮ദീബോൻനിവാസിനിയായ പുത്രീ, നിന്റെ മഹത്വം വിട്ടിറങ്ങി ദാഹത്തോടെ ഇരിക്കുക; മോവാബിനെ നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നവൻ നിന്റെനേരെ വന്ന് നിന്റെ കോട്ടകൾ നശിപ്പിക്കുമല്ലോ.

19 O inhabitant of Aroer! Ask of him that fleeth, and of her that escapeth, And say, “What hath been done?”

൧൯അരോവേർനിവാസിനിയേ, നീ വഴിയിൽ നിന്നുകൊണ്ടു നോക്കുക; ഓടിപ്പോകുന്നവനോടും രക്ഷപെട്ടുപോകുന്നവളോടും ‘സംഭവിച്ചതെന്ത്’ എന്നു ചോദിക്കുക.

20 Moab is confounded; for it is broken down; Howl ye, and cry! Tell ye it in Arnon, That Moab is destroyed!

൨൦മോവാബ് തകർന്നിരിക്കുകയാൽ ലജ്ജിച്ചു പോയിരിക്കുന്നു; വിലപിച്ചു കരയുവിൻ; മോവാബ് കവർച്ചചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് അർന്നോനിൽ അറിയിക്കുവിൻ.

21 And punishment hath come upon the plain country; Upon Holon, and upon Jahazah, and upon Mephaath,

൨൧സമഭൂമിമേൽ ന്യായവിധി വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; ഹോലോനും യഹ്സെക്കും മേഫാഥിനും

22 And upon Dibon, and upon Nebo, and upon Beth-diblathaim.

൨൨ദീബോനും നെബോവിനും ബേത്ത്-ദിബ്ളാത്തയീമിനും കിര്യത്തയീമിനും

23 And upon Kiriathaim, and upon Beth-gamul, and upon Beth-meon,

൨൩ബേത്ത്--ഗാമൂലിനും ബേത്ത്-മെയോനും

24 And upon Kerioth, and upon Bozrah, And upon all the cities of the land of Moab far and near.

൨൪കെരീയോത്തിനും ബൊസ്രെക്കും ദൂരത്തും സമീപത്തും ഉള്ള മോവാബിലെ എല്ലാ പട്ടണങ്ങൾക്കും തന്നെ.

25 The horn of Moab is cut off, And his arm is broken, saith Jehovah.

൨൫മോവാബിന്റെ കൊമ്പ് വെട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ ഭുജം തകർന്നുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.

26 Make ye him drunken, for he hath exalted himself against Jehovah; That he also may wallow in his vomit, And be himself also in derision.

൨൬മോവാബ് യഹോവയുടെ നേരെ അഹങ്കരിച്ചിരിക്കുകകൊണ്ട് അവനെ ലഹരി പിടിപ്പിക്കുവിൻ; മോവാബ് തന്റെ ഛർദ്ദിയിൽ കിടന്നുരുളും; അവൻ നിന്ദാവിഷയമായിത്തീരും.

27 Was not Israel a derision to thee? Was he found among thieves, That, as often as thou spakest of him, thou shouldst shake thy head?

൨൭അല്ല, യിസ്രായേൽ നിനക്ക് നിന്ദാവിഷയമായിരുന്നില്ലയോ? നീ അവനെക്കുറിച്ച് പറയുമ്പോഴെല്ലാം തല കുലുക്കുവാൻ അവൻ കള്ളന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ പിടിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നുവോ?

28 Leave the cities and dwell in the rock, O inhabitants of Moab! Be like the dove, that maketh her nest in the sides of the mouth of the pit!

൨൮മോവാബ് നിവാസികളേ, പട്ടണങ്ങൾ വിട്ട് പാറകളിൽ അധിവസിക്കുവിൻ; ഗുഹയുടെ പാർശ്വങ്ങളിൽ കൂടുവയ്ക്കുന്ന പ്രാവിനെപ്പോലെയാകുവിൻ.

29 We have heard of the pride of Moab; He hath been exceeding proud; His loftiness and his arrogance, His pride and the haughtiness of his heart.

൨൯മോവാബ് മഹാഗർവ്വി; ഞങ്ങൾ അവന്റെ ഗർവ്വത്തെയും അഹന്തയെയും ഡംഭത്തെയും നിഗളത്തെയും ഉന്നതഭാവത്തെയും കുറിച്ച് കേട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്.

30 I, too, know his insolence, saith Jehovah, And his vain boastings. They shall effect nothing.

൩൦അവന്റെ ക്രോധം ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്; അവന്റെ സംസാരം വ്യാജമാണ്; അവന്റെ വ്യാജമായ പ്രവൃത്തികൊണ്ട് ഒന്നും സാധിച്ചില്ലല്ലോ.

31 Therefore will I wail for Moab, Even for all Moab will I cry out; For the men of Kir-heres shall there be mourning.

൩൧അതുകൊണ്ട് മോവാബിനെക്കുറിച്ച് ഞാൻ വിലപിക്കും; എല്ലാ മോവാബിനെയും കുറിച്ച് ഞാൻ നിലവിളിക്കും; കീർഹേരെസിലെ ജനങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച് ഞാൻ ദുഃഖിക്കും.

32 More than Jazer will I weep for thee, O vine of Sibmah! Thy branches have passed beyond the sea; They reach even to the sea of Jazer; Upon thy summer-fruits and thy vintage the spoiler falleth.

൩൨സിബ്മാമുന്തിരിവള്ളിയേ, യസേരിനെക്കുറിച്ചു കരയുന്നതിലും അധികം ഞാൻ നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ച് കരയും; നിന്റെ വള്ളികൾ കടലിനിക്കരെ കടന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അവ യസേർകടൽവരെ എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ശൂന്യമാക്കുന്നവൻ നിന്റെ കനികളിന്മേലും മുന്തിരിക്കൊയ്ത്തിന്മേലും ചാടി വീണിരിക്കുന്നു.

33 And joy and gladness are taken away from the fruitful field; And from the land of Moab, And from the presses, have I caused the wine to fail: No more shall they tread with shouting; The shouting shall be no shouting.

൩൩സന്തോഷവും ഉല്ലാസവും വിളഭൂമിയിൽനിന്നും മോവാബ് ദേശത്തുനിന്നും നീങ്ങിപ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നു; ചക്കുകളിൽനിന്ന് വീഞ്ഞ് ഞാൻ ഇല്ലാതാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; സന്തോഷധ്വനിയോടെ ആരും ചക്ക് ചവിട്ടുകയില്ല; കേൾക്കുന്ന ധ്വനികൾ സന്തോഷധ്വനികളല്ലതാനും.

34 From wailing Heshbon to Elealeh, Even to Jahaz, is their voice heard, From Zoar even to Horonaim, To Eglath-shelishijah; For even the waters of Nimrim are desolate.

൩൪ഹെശ്ബോനിലെ നിലവിളി നിമിത്തം അവർ എലെയാലേവരെയും യാഹസ് വരെയും സോവാർമുതൽ ഹോരോനയീംവരെയും എഗ്ലത്ത്-ശെലീശിയവരെയും നിലവിളികൂട്ടുന്നു; നിമ്രീമിലെ ജലാശയങ്ങളും ശൂന്യമായിത്തീരുമല്ലോ.

35 And I will cause to cease in Moab, saith Jehovah, Him that offereth in the high places, And him that burneth incense to his gods.

൩൫പൂജാഗിരിയിൽ ബലികഴിക്കുന്നവനെയും ദേവന്മാർക്കു ധൂപം കാട്ടുന്നവനെയും ഞാൻ മോവാബിൽ ഇല്ലാതെയാക്കും” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.

36 Therefore doth my heart sound like a flute for Moab, And for the men of Ker-heres doth my heart sound like a flute; For the remnant of their substance is perished.

൩൬അവർ സമ്പാദിച്ച സമ്പാദ്യം നശിച്ചുപോയിരിക്കുകയാൽ മോവാബിനെക്കുറിച്ചും കീർഹേരെസിലെ ജനങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചും എന്റെ ഹൃദയം കുഴൽപോലെ ധ്വനിക്കുന്നു.

37 Every head is bald, And every beard shorn; Upon all hands are cutting, And upon the loins sackcloth.

൩൭എല്ലാ തലയും കഷണ്ടിയായും എല്ലാതാടിയും കത്രിക്കപ്പെട്ടും ഇരിക്കുന്നു; എല്ലാകൈകളിലും മുറിവും അരകളിൽ രട്ടും കാണുന്നു.

38 Upon all the house-tops of Moab, and in her streets, All is lamentation. For I have broken Moab, like a useless vessel, saith Jehovah.

൩൮ഇഷ്ടമില്ലാത്ത പാത്രത്തെപ്പോലെ ഞാൻ മോവാബിനെ ഉടച്ചുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുകയാൽ മോവാബിലെ എല്ലാ പുരമുകളിലും അതിന്റെ എല്ലാ തെരുവീഥികളിലും വിലാപം കേൾക്കുന്നു” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.

39 Howl ye! How is he broken down! How hath Moab turned the back with shame! A derision and a consternation is Moab To all that are round him.

൩൯അത് എങ്ങനെ ഉടഞ്ഞുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു! മുറയിടുവിൻ! മോവാബ് എങ്ങനെ ലജ്ജിച്ച് പുറം തിരിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു! അങ്ങനെ മോവാബ് തന്റെ ചുറ്റുമുള്ളവരെല്ലാം നിന്ദയ്ക്കും ഭീതിയ്ക്കും വിഷയമായിത്തീരും”.

40 For thus saith Jehovah: Behold, like an eagle flieth an enemy, And spreadeth his wings over Moab.

൪൦യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ഒരുവൻ കഴുകനെപ്പോലെ പറന്ന് മോവാബിന്മേൽ ചിറകു വിടർത്തും.

41 Kerioth is taken, And the strongholds are seized; The hearts of the heroes of Moab in that day Shall be like the heart of a woman in her pangs.

൪൧കെരീയോത്ത് പിടിക്കപ്പെട്ടു; ദുർഗ്ഗങ്ങൾ കീഴടങ്ങിപ്പോയി; അന്നാളിൽ മോവാബിലെ വീരന്മാരുടെ ഹൃദയം നോവുകിട്ടിയ സ്ത്രീയുടെ ഹൃദയം പോലെയാകും.

42 And Moab shall be destroyed so as to be no more a people, Because he exalted himself against Jehovah.

൪൨യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പിൽ തന്നത്താൻ ഉയർത്തിയിരിക്കുകയാൽ മോവാബ് ഒരു ജനമായിരിക്കാത്തവിധം നശിച്ചുപോകും.

43 Terror and the pit and the snare are upon thee, O inhabitant of Moab, saith Jehovah.

൪൩മോവാബ് നിവാസിയേ, ഭയവും കുഴിയും കെണിയും നിനക്ക് വരും” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.

44 He that fleeth from the terror shall fall into the pit, And he that getteth up out of the pit shall be taken in the snare; For I will bring upon it, upon Moab, The year of their punishment, saith Jehovah.

൪൪“ഭയന്നോടുന്നവൻ കുഴിയിൽ വീഴും; കുഴിയിൽനിന്നു കയറുന്നവൻ കെണിയിൽ അകപ്പെടും; ഞാൻ മോവാബിന്റെമേൽ തന്നെ, അവരുടെ ശിക്ഷാകാലം വരുത്തും” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.

45 In the valley of Heshbon the fugitives halted for want of strength; But a fire is gone forth from Heshbon, And a flame from the midst of Sihon, Which devoureth the region of Moab, And the heads of the sons of tumult.

൪൫ഓടിപ്പോയവർ ബലമില്ലാതെ ഹെശ്ബോന്റെ നിഴലിൽ നില്ക്കുന്നു; എന്നാൽ ഹെശ്ബോനിൽനിന്നു തീയും സീഹോന്റെ നടുവിൽനിന്നു ജ്വാലയും പുറപ്പെട്ട് മോവാബിന്റെ ചെന്നിയും കലാപകാരികളുടെ നെറുകയും ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും.

46 Woe to thee, O Moab! Undone is the people of Chemosh! For thy sons are taken captives, And thy daughters are captives.

൪൬മോവാബേ, നിനക്ക് ഹാ കഷ്ടം! കെമോശിന്റെ ജനം നശിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെ ബദ്ധന്മാരായും നിന്റെ പുത്രിമാരെ പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കും കൊണ്ടുപോയിരുന്നു.

47 Yet will I bring back the captivity of Moab In future times, saith Jehovah. Thus far the judgment of Moab.

൪൭എങ്കിലും വരും കാലങ്ങളില്‍ ഞാൻ മോവാബിന്റെ പ്രവാസം മാറ്റും” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്. ഇത്രത്തോളമാകുന്നു മോവാബിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ന്യായവിധി.
