Jeremiah 39
1 And it came to pass, when Jerusalem was taken, (in the ninth year of Zedekiah, the king of Judah, in the tenth month, came Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, and all his army, against Jerusalem, and besieged it;
যিহূদার রাজা সিদিকিয়ের রাজত্বের নবম বছরের দশম মাসে, ব্যাবিলনের রাজা নেবুখাদনেজার তাঁর সমস্ত সৈন্য নিয়ে জেরুশালেমের বিরুদ্ধে সমরাভিযান করেন ও তা অবরোধ করেন।
2 and in the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month, on the ninth day of the month, was the city broken into, )
সিদিকিয়ের রাজত্বের এগারোতম বছরের চতুর্থ মাসের নবম দিনে, নগরের প্রাচীর ভেঙে ফেলা হল।
3 that all the chieftains of the king of Babylon came, and stationed themselves in the middle gate, Nergalsharezer, Samgarnebo, Sarsechim, prefect of the eunuchs, Nergalsharezer, prefect of the magians, and all the rest of the princes of the king of Babylon.
তারপর ব্যাবিলনের রাজার সমস্ত কর্মকর্তা এসে মধ্যম-দ্বারে আসন গ্রহণ করল। তারা ছিল সমগরের নের্গল-শরেৎসর, একজন প্রধান আধিকারিক নেবো-সার্সেকিম, একজন উচ্চ পদাধিকারী নের্গল-শরেৎসর এবং ব্যাবিলনের রাজার অন্যান্য সমস্ত কর্মচারী।
4 And when Zedekiah, the king of Judah, and all the men of war, saw them, they fled, and went forth out of the city by night, by the way of the king's garden, through the gate between the two walls; and they went forth toward the plain.
যখন যিহূদার রাজা সিদিকিয় ও সমস্ত সৈন্য তাদের দেখলেন, তারা পলায়ন করলেন। রাজার উদ্যানের পথ দিয়ে তারা রাত্রিবেলা নগর ত্যাগ করলেন। সেই ফটকটি ছিল দুটি প্রাচীরের মাঝখানে এবং পথ ছিল অরাবা অভিমুখী।
5 But the army of the Chaldaeans pursued them, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; and they took him, and brought him to Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, at Riblah in the land of Hamath, where he gave judgment concerning him.
কিন্তু ব্যাবিলনীয় সৈন্যেরা তাদের পশ্চাদ্ধাবন করল এবং যিরীহোর সমভূমিতে সিদিকিয়ের নাগাল পেল। তারা তাঁকে বন্দি করল এবং হমাৎ দেশের রিব্লাতে ব্যাবিলনের রাজা নেবুখাদনেজারের কাছে তাঁকে নিয়ে গেল। সেখানে তিনি তাঁর দণ্ডাদেশ ঘোষণা করলেন।
6 And the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah at Riblah before his eyes; and all the nobles of Judah did the king of Babylon slay.
সেখানে ব্যাবিলনের রাজা রিব্লায়, সিদিকিয়ের চোখের সামনেই তাঁর পুত্রদের হত্যা করলেন এবং যিহূদার সমস্ত সম্ভ্রান্ত ব্যক্তিকেও হত্যা করলেন।
7 And he put out the eyes of Zedekiah, and bound him with fetters of brass, to carry him to Babylon.
তারপর তিনি সিদিকিয়ের দুই চোখ উপড়ে নিলেন এবং তাঁকে ব্যাবিলনে নিয়ে যাওয়ার জন্য পিতলের শিকল দিয়ে বাঁধলেন।
8 And the Chaldaeans burned the king's house, and the houses of the people, with fire, and they broke down the walls of Jerusalem.
ব্যাবিলনীয়েরা রাজপ্রাসাদে ও লোকদের সমস্ত গৃহে আগুন লাগিয়ে দিল এবং জেরুশালেমের প্রাচীরগুলি ভেঙে ফেলল।
9 And the residue of the people that remained in the city, and the deserters who had come over to him, the residue of the people that remained, Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard, carried away to Babylon.
রাজরক্ষীবাহিনীর সেনাপতি নবূষরদন নগরের অবশিষ্ট লোকেদের এবং যারা তাদের পক্ষ অবলম্বন করেছিল তাদের ও অবশিষ্ট অন্য সব লোককে ব্যাবিলনে নির্বাসিত করলেন।
10 But the poor of the people, who had nothing, Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, left in the land of Judah, and gave them vineyards and fields at the same time.
কিন্তু রক্ষীদলের সেনাপতি নবূষরদন যিহূদায় কিছু দীনদরিদ্র ব্যক্তিকে ছেড়ে দিলেন, তাদের কাছে কিছুই ছিল না। সেই সময় তিনি তাদের দ্রাক্ষাকুঞ্জ ও কৃষিজমি দান করলেন।
11 And Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, gave charge concerning Jeremiah to Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, saying,
এরপর, ব্যাবিলনের রাজা নেবুখাদনেজার তাঁর রাজরক্ষীদলের সেনাপতি নবূষরদনের মাধ্যমে যিরমিয়ের জন্য এই আদেশ দিলেন,
12 “Take him, and have thine eyes upon him, and do him no harm; but do to him even as he shall say to you.”
“তাঁকে গ্রহণ করো ও তাঁর তত্ত্বাবধান করো। তাঁর কোনো ক্ষতি করবে না, বরং তিনি যা চান, তাঁর প্রতি তাই করবে।”
13 Then sent Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guard, and Nebushasban, prefect of the eunuchs, and Nergalsharezer, prefect of the magians, and all the princes of the king of Babylon,
তাই রক্ষীদলের সেনাপতি নবূষরদন, একজন প্রধান আধিকারিক নবুশাস্বন, একজন উচ্চপদস্থ কর্মচারী নের্গল-শরেৎসর ও ব্যাবিলনের রাজার অন্যান্য সমস্ত কর্মচারীকে
14 they sent and took Jeremiah out of the court of the prison, and committed him to Gedaliah, the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, that he should carry him home; and he dwelt among the people.
যিরমিয়ের কাছে প্রেরণ করে, তাঁকে রক্ষীদের প্রাঙ্গণ থেকে মুক্ত করে আনলেন। তারা তাঁকে শাফনের পুত্র অহীকামের পুত্র গদলিয়ের হাতে সমর্পণ করলেন, যেন তিনি তাঁকে তাঁর গৃহে ফেরত নিয়ে যান। এভাবেই তিনি তাঁর আপনজনদের কাছে থেকে গেলেন।
15 Now the word of Jehovah had come to Jeremiah, while he was shut up in the court of the prison, saying:
যখন যিরমিয় রক্ষীদের প্রাঙ্গণে অবরুদ্ধ ছিলেন, সদাপ্রভুর বাক্য তাঁর কাছে উপস্থিত হল:
16 Go and speak to Ebedmelech, the Ethiopian, and say: Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I bring my words upon this city for evil and not for good, and with thine own eyes shalt thou see it in that day.
“তুমি যাও ও গিয়ে কূশীয় এবদ-মেলককে বলো, ‘বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর এই কথা বলেন, আমি এই নগরের বিরুদ্ধে আমার বচন, সমৃদ্ধির নয়, কিন্তু বিপর্যয়ের মাধ্যমে পূর্ণ করতে চলেছি। সেই সময়, সেগুলি তোমার চোখের সামনে পূর্ণ হবে।
17 But I will deliver thee in that day, saith Jehovah; and thou shalt not be given into the hand of the men of whom thou art afraid.
কিন্তু সেদিন, আমি তোমাকে উদ্ধার করব, সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন; তুমি যাদের ভয় করো, তাদের হাতে তোমাকে সমর্পণ করা হবে না।
18 But I will surely deliver thee, and thou shalt not fall by the sword, but thy life shall be to thee as a prey; because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith Jehovah.
আমি তোমাকে রক্ষা করব; তুমি তরোয়ালের আঘাতে পতিত হবে না, কিন্তু তোমার প্রাণরক্ষা পাবে, কারণ তুমি আমাকে বিশ্বাস করেছ, সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন।’”
