Jeremiah 35
1 The word which came to Jeremiah from Jehovah, in the days of Jehoiakim, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, saying:
A palavra que do Senhor veio a Jeremias, nos dias de Joaquim, filho de Josias, rei de Judá, dizendo:
2 Go to the house of the Rechabites, and speak to them, and bring them into the house of Jehovah, into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink.
Vai à casa dos rechabitas, e fala com eles, e leva-os à casa do Senhor, a uma das câmaras e dá-lhes vinho a beber.
3 Then I took Jaazaniah, the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habaziniah, and his brethren, and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites,
Então tomei a Jasanias, filho de Jeremias, filho de Habazinias, e a seus irmãos, e a todos os seus filhos, e a toda a casa dos rechabitas;
4 and brought them into the house of Jehovah, into the chamber of the sons of Hanan, the son of Igdaliah, a man of God, which was by the chamber of the princes, which was above the chamber of Maaseiah, the son of Shallum, the keeper of the door.
E os levei à casa do Senhor, à câmara dos filhos de Hanan, filho de Jigdalias, homem de Deus, que está junto à câmara dos príncipes, que está sobre a câmara de Maaseias, filho de Sallum, guarda do vestíbulo:
5 And I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites pots full of wine and cups, and I said to them, “Drink ye wine.”
E pus diante dos filhos da casa dos rechabitas taças cheias de vinho, e copos, e disse-lhes: Bebei vinho.
6 But they said, “We will not drink wine; for Jonadab, the son of Rechab, our father, commanded us, saying, Ye shall drink no wine, ye nor your sons, forever;
Porém eles disseram: Não beberemos vinho; porque Jonadab, filho de Rechab, nosso pai, nos mandou, dizendo: Não bebereis vinho, nem vós nem vossos filhos perpetuamente;
7 neither shall ye build house, nor sow seed, nor plant vineyard, nor have any; but all your days ye shall dwell in tents, that ye may live long in the land wherein ye are strangers.
Nem edificareis casa, nem semeareis semente, nem plantareis vinha, nem a possuireis; mas habitareis em tenda todos os vossos dias, para que vivais muitos dias sobre a face da terra, em que vós andais peregrinando.
8 And we have obeyed the voice of Jonadab, the son of Rechab, our father, in all that he charged us, to drink no wine all our days, neither we, nor our wives, nor our sons, nor our daughters;
Obedecemos pois à voz de Jonadab, filho de Rechab, nosso pai, em tudo quanto nos ordenou; de maneira que não bebemos vinho em todos os nossos dias, nem nós, nem nossas mulheres, nem nossos filhos, nem nossas filhas,
9 nor to build houses for us to dwell in; neither have we vineyard, nor field, nor seed;
Nem edificamos casas para nossa habitação: nem temos vinha, nem campo, nem semente.
10 but we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed, and done according to all that Jonadab, the son of Rechab, our father, commanded us.
E habitamos em tendas, e assim ouvimos e fizemos conforme tudo quanto nos mandou Jonadab, nosso pai.
11 But it came to pass when Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, came up into the land, that we said, Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldaeans, and for fear of the army of the Syrians; so we dwell at Jerusalem.”
Sucedeu, porém, que, subindo Nabucodonozor, rei de Babilônia, a esta terra, dissemos: Vinde, e vamo-nos a Jerusalém, por causa do exército dos caldeus, e por causa do exército dos siros; e assim ficamos em Jerusalém.
12 Then came the word of Jehovah to Jeremiah, saying,
Então veio a palavra do Senhor a Jeremias, dizendo:
13 Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Go and say to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem: Will ye not receive instruction, to hearken to my words? saith Jehovah.
Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos, o Deus de Israel: vai, e dize aos homens de Judá e aos moradores de Jerusalém: Porventura nunca aceitareis ensino, para ouvirdes as minhas palavras? diz o Senhor.
14 The words of Jonadab, the son of Rechab, in which he commanded his sons not to drink wine, have been performed; for they have drunk no wine to this day, but have obeyed the commandment of their father. I also have spoken to you, rising up early and speaking, but ye have not hearkened to me.
As palavras de Jonadab, filho de Rechab, que ordenou a seus filhos que não bebessem vinho, foram guardadas; pois não beberam até este dia, antes ouviram o mandamento de seu pai, e eu vos tenho falado a vós, madrugando e falando, porém vós não me ouvistes a mim.
15 And I have sent to you all my servants, the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return ye now every one from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers; but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened to me.
E vos enviei a todos os meus servos, os profetas, madrugando, e enviando, e dizendo: Convertei-vos agora, cada um do seu mau caminho, e fazei boas as vossas ações, e não sigais a outros deuses para servi-los; e assim ficareis na terra que vos dei a vós e a vossos pais; porém não inclinastes o vosso ouvido, nem me obedecestes a mim
16 Since then the sons of Jonadab, the son of Rechab, have performed the commandment of their father which he commanded them, and this people have not hearkened to me;
Porquanto os filhos de Jonadab, filho de Rechab, guardaram o mandamento de seu pai que lhes ordenou; e este povo não me obedeceu:
17 therefore thus saith Jehovah, the God of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will bring upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, all the evil which I have pronounced against them; because I have spoken to them, and they have not hearkened, and I have called to them, and they have not answered.
Por isso assim diz o Senhor, o Deus dos exércitos, o Deus de Israel: Eis que trarei sobre Judá, e sobre todos os moradores de Jerusalém, todo o mal que falei contra eles; porquanto lhes tenho falado, e não ouviram; e clamei a eles, e não responderam.
18 And to the house of the Rechabites Jeremiah said: Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Because ye have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab, your father, and kept all his precepts, and done according to all which he commanded you,
E à casa dos rechabitas disse Jeremias: Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos, o Deus de Israel: Porquanto obedecestes ao mandamento de Jonadab, vosso pai, e guardastes todos os seus mandamentos, e fizestes conforme tudo quanto vos ordenou,
19 therefore thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: There shall not fail in the land of Jonadab, the son of Rechab, men to stand before me forever.
Portanto assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos, Deus de Israel: Nunca faltará varão a Jonadab, filho de Rechab, que assista perante a minha face todos os dias.
