Jeremiah 29

1 Now these are the words of the letter which Jeremiah the prophet sent to the residue of the elders of the captivity, and to the priests, and to the prophets, and to all the people, whom Nebuchadnezzar had carried away captive from Jerusalem to Babylon,

۱ این است سخنان رساله‌ای که ارمیانبی از اورشلیم نزد بقیه مشایخ اسیران وکاهنان و انبیا و تمامی قومی که نبوکدنصر ازاورشلیم به بابل به اسیری برده بود فرستاد.

2 after the departure of Jeconiah the king, and the queen, and the eunuchs, and the princes of Judah and Jerusalem, and the artificers, and the smiths, from Jerusalem,

۲ بعداز آنکه یکنیا پادشاه و ملکه و خواجه‌سرایان وسروران یهودا و اورشلیم و صنعتگران و آهنگران از اورشلیم بیرون رفته بودند.

3 by the hand of Elasah, the son of Shaphan, and Gemariah, the son of Hilkiah, (whom Zedekiah, the king of Judah, sent to Babylon, to Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, ) saying: —

۳ (پس آن را) به‌دست العاسه بن شافان و جمریا ابن حلقیا که صدقیا پادشاه یهودا ایشان را نزد نبوکدنصرپادشاه بابل به بابل فرستاد (ارسال نموده )، گفت:

4 Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, to all the captives whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem to Babylon:

۴ «یهوه صبایوت خدای اسرائیل به تمامی اسیرانی که من ایشان را از اورشلیم به بابل به اسیری فرستادم، چنین می‌گوید:

5 Build ye houses and dwell in them; and plant gardens and eat the fruit of them.

۵ خانه‌ها ساخته در آنها ساکن شوید و باغها غرس نموده، میوه آنها را بخورید.

6 Take ye wives, and have sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; and increase ye there, and be not diminished.

۶ زنان گرفته، پسران و دختران به هم رسانید و زنان برای پسران خود بگیرید ودختران خود را به شوهر بدهید تا پسران ودختران بزایند و در آنجا زیاد شوید و کم نگردید.

7 And seek ye the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray for it to Jehovah, for in its peace shall be your peace.

۷ و سلامتی آن شهر را که شما را به آن به اسیری فرستاده‌ام بطلبید و برایش نزد خداوند مسالت نمایید زیرا که در سلامتی آن شما را سلامتی خواهد بود.

8 For thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Let not your prophets and your diviners, who are in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed.

۸ زیرا که یهوه صبایوت خدای اسرائیل چنین می‌گوید: مگذارید که انبیای شماکه در میان شمااند و فالگیران شما شما را فریب دهند و به خوابهایی که شما ایشان را وامی داریدکه آنها را ببینند، گوش مگیرید.

9 For they prophesy falsely to you in my name; I have not sent them, saith Jehovah.

۹ زیرا خداوندمی گوید که ایشان برای شما به اسم من کاذبانه نبوت می‌کنند و من ایشان را نفرستاده‌ام.

10 For thus saith Jehovah: Surely, when seventy years shall be completed for Babylon, I will visit you, and I will perform for you my good promise, that I would bring you again to this place.

۱۰ وخداوند می‌گوید: چون مدت هفتاد سال بابل سپری شود من از شما تفقد خواهم نمود وسخنان نیکو را که برای شما گفتم انجام خواهم داد؛ به اینکه شما را به این مکان باز خواهم آورد.

11 For I know the designs which I have in mind concerning you, designs of good and not of evil, to give you a happy end, and fulfill your hopes.

۱۱ زیرا خداوند می‌گوید: فکرهایی را که برای شما دارم می‌دانم که فکرهای سلامتی می‌باشد ونه بدی تا شما را در آخرت امید بخشم.

12 Then ye shall call upon me, and go in peace; ye shall pray to me, and I will hear you;

۱۲ و مراخواهید خواند و آمده، نزد من تضرع خواهید کردو من شما را اجابت خواهم نمود.

13 ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye search for me with all your heart.

۱۳ و مراخواهید طلبید و چون مرا به تمامی دل خودجستجو نمایید، مرا خواهید یافت.

14 And I will be found by you, saith Jehovah, and I will bring you back from captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith Jehovah; and I will bring you again to the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.

۱۴ و خداوندمی گوید که مرا خواهید یافت و اسیران شما را بازخواهم آورد. و خداوند می‌گوید که شما را ازجمیع امت‌ها و از همه مکان هایی که شما را درآنها رانده‌ام، جمع خواهم نمود و شما را از جایی که به اسیری فرستاده‌ام، باز خواهم آورد.

15 Since ye say, Jehovah hath raised us up prophets in Babylon,

۱۵ از آن رو که گفتید خداوند برای ما در بابل انبیا مبعوث نموده است.

16 behold, thus saith Jehovah concerning the king that sitteth upon the throne of David, and concerning all the people that dwell in this city, your brethren that went not forth with you into captivity, —

۱۶ «پس خداوند به پادشاهی که بر کرسی داودنشسته است و به تمامی قومی که در این شهرساکنند، یعنی برادران شما که همراه شما به اسیری نرفته‌اند، چنین می‌گوید:

17 thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Behold, I will send upon them the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, and I will make them like vile figs, which cannot be eaten for badness.

۱۷ بلی یهوه صبایوت چنین می‌گوید: اینک من شمشیر وقحط و وبا را بر ایشان خواهم فرستاد و ایشان رامثل انجیرهای بد که آنها را از بدی نتوان خورد، خواهم ساخت.

18 And I will persecute them with the sword, and with famine, and with pestilence, and I will give them up to oppression in all kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse, and an astonishment, and a hissing, and a reproach, among all the nations whither I drive them;

۱۸ و ایشان را به شمشیر و قحط ووبا تعاقب خواهم نمود و در میان جمیع ممالک جهان مشوش خواهم ساخت تا برای همه امت هایی که ایشان را در میان آنها رانده‌ام، لعنت و دهشت و مسخره و عار باشند.

19 because they have not hearkened to my words, saith Jehovah, when I sent to them my servants, the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye would not hear, saith Jehovah.

۱۹ چونکه خداوند می‌گوید: کلام مرا که به واسطه بندگان خود انبیا نزد ایشان فرستادم نشنیدند با آنکه صبح زود برخاسته، آن را فرستادم اما خداوند می‌گویدکه شما نشنیدید.

20 Hear ye, therefore, the word of Jehovah, all ye of the captivity, whom I have sent from Jerusalem to Babylon.

۲۰ و شما‌ای جمیع اسیرانی که از اورشلیم به بابل فرستادم کلام خداوند رابشنوید.

21 Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning Ahab, the son of Kolaiah, and concerning Zedekiah, the son of Maaseiah, who prophesy a lie to you in my name: Behold, I will deliver them into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, and he shall slay them before your eyes.

۲۱ یهوه صبایوت خدای اسرائیل درباره اخاب بن قولایا و درباره صدقیا ابن معسیا که برای شما به اسم من کاذبانه نبوت می‌کنند، چنین می‌گوید: اینک من ایشان را به‌دست نبوکدنصرپادشاه بابل تسلیم خواهم کرد و او ایشان را درحضور شما خواهد کشت.

22 And from them shall be taken a curse among all the captives of Judah that are at Babylon, so that they shall say, “Jehovah make thee like Zedekiah and like Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted in the fire!”

۲۲ و از ایشان برای تمامی اسیران یهودا که در بابل می‌باشند لعنت گرفته، خواهند گفت که خداوند تو را مثل صدقیاو اخاب که پادشاه بابل ایشان را در آتش سوزانید، بگرداند.

23 because they have practised villany in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbors' wives, and have spoken lying words in my name, which I commanded them not. But I know it, and am a witness, saith Jehovah.

۲۳ چونکه ایشان در اسرائیل حماقت نمودند و با زنان همسایگان خود زنا کردند و به اسم من کلامی را که به ایشان امرنفرموده بودم کاذبانه گفتند و خداوند می‌گوید که من عارف و شاهد هستم.

24 And to Shemaiah, the Nehelamite, shalt thou say,

۲۴ «و شمعیای نحلامی را خطاب کرده، بگو:

25 Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Because thou hast sent letters in thy name to all the people that are at Jerusalem, and to Zephaniah, the son of Maaseiah the priest, and to all the priests, saying,

۲۵ یهوه صبایوت خدای اسرائیل تکلم نموده، چنین می‌گوید: از آنجایی که تو رسایل به اسم خود نزد تمامی قوم که در اورشلیم‌اند و نزدصفنیا ابن معسیا کاهن و نزد جمیع کاهنان فرستاده، گفتی:

26 Jehovah hath made thee priest in the room of Jehoiada the priest, that there should be officers in the house of Jehovah against every one that is mad and prophesieth, and that thou shouldst put him into the stocks, and into prison;

۲۶ که خداوند تو را به‌جای یهویاداع کاهن به کهانت نصب نموده است تا برخانه خداوند وکلا باشید. برای هر شخص مجنون که خویشتن را نبی می‌نماید تا او را درکنده‌ها و زنجیرها ببندی.

27 now, therefore, why hast thou not reproved Jeremiah of Anathoth, who prophesieth to you?

۲۷ پس الان چرا ارمیاعناتوتی را که خود را برای شما نبی می‌نمایدتوبیخ نمی کنی؟

28 For he hath sent to us at Babylon, saying, This captivity is long. Build ye houses and dwell in them, and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them.

۲۸ زیرا که او نزد ما به بابل فرستاده، گفت که این اسیری بطول خواهدانجامید پس خانه‌ها بنا کرده، ساکن شوید و باغهاغرس نموده، میوه آنها را بخورید.»

29 And Zephaniah the priest read this letter in the ears of Jeremiah the prophet.

۲۹ و صفنیای کاهن این رساله را به گوش ارمیانبی خواند.

30 Then came the word of Jehovah to Jeremiah, saying:

۳۰ پس کلام خداوند بر ارمیا نازل شده، گفت:

31 Send to all those of the captivity, saying, Thus saith Jehovah concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite: Because Shemaiah the prophet hath prophesied to you, and I sent him not, and he hath caused you to trust in a lie,

۳۱ «نزد جمیع اسیران فرستاده، بگوکه خداوند درباره شمعیای نحلامی چنین می‌گوید: چونکه شمعیا برای شما نبوت می‌کند ومن او را نفرستاده‌ام و او شما را وامیدارد که به دروغ اعتماد نمایید،

32 therefore thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will punish Shemaiah, the Nehelamite, and his offspring. There shall descend from him not a man to dwell among this people, and he shall not behold the good which I will do for my people, saith Jehovah; for he hath spoken rebellion against Jehovah.

۳۲ بنابراین خداوند چنین می‌گوید: اینک من بر شمعیای نحلامی و ذریت وی عقوبت خواهم رسانید و برایش کسی‌که درمیان این قوم ساکن باشد، نخواهد ماند و خداوندمی گوید او آن احسانی را که من برای قوم خودمی کنم نخواهد دید، زیرا که درباره خداوند سخنان فتنه انگیز گفته است.»
