Jeremiah 19
1 Thus saith Jehovah: Go and buy an earthen bottle of the potter, And take with thee the elders of the people, And the elders of the priests,
੧ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, - ਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਘੁਮਿਆਰ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਦੀ ਸੁਰਾਹੀ ਮੁੱਲ ਲੈ। ਨਾਲੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਲੈ
2 And go forth to the valley of the son of Hinnom, At the entrance of the pottery-gate, And proclaim there the words Which I shall speak to thee.
੨ਅਤੇ ਬਨ-ਹਿੰਨੋਮ ਦੀ ਵਾਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਜਾ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਠੀਕਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਫਾਟਕ ਦੇ ਬੂਹੇ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਹੈ। ਉੱਥੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੋਕਾ ਦੇ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬੋਲਾਂਗਾ
3 Say, Hear the word of Jehovah, Ye kings of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem! Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I am about to bring such an evil upon this place, That whoever heareth of it, his ears shall tingle.
੩ਤੂੰ ਆਖੀਂ, ਹੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਵਾਸੀਓ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣੋ! ਸੈਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, - ਵੇਖੋ, ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਸਥਾਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਦੀ ਲਿਆਵਾਂਗਾ। ਹਰੇਕ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸੁਣੇਗਾ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੰਨ ਝੁਣਝੁਣਾ ਜਾਣਗੇ
4 For they have forsaken me, And have alienated this place, And have burned incense in it to strange gods, Which neither they, nor their fathers, nor the kings of Judah have known, And have filled this place with the blood of innocent children,
੪ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਸਥਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਓਪਰੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਧੂਪ ਧੁਖਾ ਕੇ ਭਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਉਹ, ਨਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿਉ-ਦਾਦੇ, ਨਾ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਸਨ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਸਥਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਬੇਦੋਸ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਹੂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ
5 And have built high places to Baal, To burn their sons in the fire for burnt-offerings to Baal; Which I ordained not, and commanded not, And which never came into my mind.
੫ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਆਲ ਦੇ ਉੱਚੇ-ਉੱਚੇ ਸਥਾਨ ਬਣਾਏ ਭਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਮ ਦੀ ਬਲੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਬਆਲ ਲਈ ਅੱਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾੜਨ ਜਿਹ ਦਾ ਮੈਂ ਨਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਨਾ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ, ਨਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਆਇਆ
6 Therefore, behold, the days are coming, saith Jehovah, When this place shall no more be called Tophet, Nor the valley of the son of Hinnom, But the valley of Slaughter.
੬ਇਸ ਲਈ ਵੇਖੋ, ਦਿਨ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ, ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸਥਾਨ ਅੱਗੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਤੋਫਥ ਨਾ ਬਨ-ਹਿੰਨੋਮ ਦੀ ਵਾਦੀ ਅਖਵਾਏਗਾ, ਸਗੋਂ “ਕਤਲ ਦੀ ਵਾਦੀ” ਅਖਵਾਏਗਾ
7 For I will in this place bring to naught the plans of Judah and Jerusalem, And I will cause them to fall by the sword before their enemies, And by the hands of them that seek their lives; And their dead bodies will I give for food To the birds of heaven and the beasts of the earth.
੭ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਇਸੇ ਸਥਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੀ ਸਲਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਕੰਮੀ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਡੇਗ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਨ ਦੇ ਅਭਿਲਾਸ਼ੀ ਹਨ। ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਲੋਥਾਂ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਦੇ ਪੰਛੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਦਰਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਣ ਲਈ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ
8 And I will make this city a wonder and a hissing; Every one that passeth by it shall wonder and hiss, On account of all its plagues.
੮ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਰਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਨੱਕ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਬਣਾਵਾਂਗਾ। ਜਿਹੜਾ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੋਂ ਦੀ ਲੰਘੇਗਾ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਬਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਨੱਕ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਵੇਗਾ
9 For I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and of their daughters, Yea, the flesh of each other shall they eat, In the straitness and the distress With which their enemies, and they that seek their lives, shall press them.
੯ਅਤੇ ਮੈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਧੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਸ ਖੁਆਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਆਂਢੀ ਦਾ ਮਾਸ ਘੇਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਖਾਵੇਗਾ ਜਿਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਨ ਦੇ ਤਾਂਘ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੇਣਗੇ!।
10 Then break thou the bottle Before the eyes of the men that go with thee.
੧੦ਤਦ ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੇਖਦਿਆਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਉਸ ਸੁਰਾਹੀ ਨੂੰ ਭੰਨ ਸੁੱਟੀਂ
11 And say to them: Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: So will I break this people and this city, As one breaks a potter's vessel which cannot be made whole again; And they shall be buried in Tophet, till there is no room to bury.
੧੧ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖੀਂ, ਸੈਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, - ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਪਰਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਭੰਨ ਸੁੱਟਾਂਗਾ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕੋਈ ਘੁਮਿਆਰ ਦੇ ਭਾਂਡੇ ਨੂੰ ਭੰਨ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਫਿਰ ਸਾਬਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ। ਉਹ ਤੋਫਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਦਫ਼ਨਾਉਣਗੇ ਇਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਦਫ਼ਨਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਥਾਂ ਨਾ ਰਹੇ
12 Thus will I do to this place and to its inhabitants, saith Jehovah, And I will make this city itself like Tophet;
੧੨ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ, ਸਗੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਤੋਫਥ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਬਣਾਵਾਂਗਾ
13 And the houses of Jerusalem and the houses of the kings of Judah shall be unclean, like the place of Tophet, All the houses upon whose roofs they have burned incense to all the host of heaven, And poured out drink-offerings to strange gods.
੧੩ਤਾਂ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਹਿਲ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਭਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਤੋਫਥ ਦੇ ਸਥਾਨ ਵਰਗੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਘਰ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਸੈਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਧੂਪ ਧੁਖਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਛੱਤਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਪੀਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਦੂਜੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਡੋਲ੍ਹੀਆਂ।
14 Then came Jeremiah from Tophet, Whither Jehovah had sent him to prophesy, And stood in the court of the house of Jehovah, And said to all the people:
੧੪ਤਾਂ ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਤੋਫਥ ਤੋਂ ਆਇਆ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਅਗੰਮ ਬਾਣੀ ਲਈ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਦੇ ਵੇਹੜੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਖਲੋਤਾ। ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ,
15 Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I am about to bring upon this city, and upon all the cities belonging to it, All the evil which I have pronounced against it; For they have made their necks stiff, And refused to hearken to my words.
੧੫ਸੈਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, - ਵੇਖੋ, ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਬਸਤੀਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਲਿਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਧੌਣਾਂ ਅਕੜਾ ਲਈਆਂ ਹਨ ਭਈ ਮੇਰੀ ਗੱਲ ਨਾ ਸੁਣਨ।
