Jeremiah 13

1 Thus saith Jehovah to me: Go and get thee a linen girdle, and put it on thy loins, and put it not into water!

۱ خداوند به من چنین گفت که «برو وکمربند کتانی برای خود بخر و آن را به کمر خود ببند و آن را در آب فرو مبر.»

2 So I got a girdle according to the word of Jehovah, and put it on my loins.

۲ پس کمربند را موافق کلام خداوند خریدم و به کمرخود بستم.

3 Then the word of Jehovah came to me the second time, saying,

۳ و کلام خداوند بار دیگر به من نازل شده، گفت:

4 Take the girdle which thou hast gotten, which is upon thy loins, and arise, go to the Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole of the rock.

۴ «این کمربند را که خریدی و به کمرخود بستی بگیر و به فرات رفته، آن را در شکاف صخره پنهان کن.»

5 So I went and hid it near the Euphrates, as Jehovah commanded me.

۵ پس رفتم و آن را در فرات برحسب آنچه خداوند به من فرموده بود پنهان کردم.

6 And after many days Jehovah said to me. Arise, go to the Euphrates, and take thence the girdle which I commanded thee to hide there.

۶ و بعد ازمرور ایام بسیار خداوند مرا گفت: «برخاسته، به فرات برو و کمربندی را که تو را امر فرمودم که درآنجا پنهان کنی از آنجا بگیر.»

7 Then I went to the Euphrates, and digged, and took the girdle from the place where I had hidden it; and, behold, the girdle was marred, so that it was good for nothing.

۷ پس به فرات رفتم و کنده کمربند را از جایی که آن را پنهان کرده بودم گرفتم و اینک کمربند پوسیده و لایق هیچکار نبود.

8 Then the word of Jehovah came to me, saying: —

۸ و کلام خداوند به من نازل شده، گفت:

9 Thus saith Jehovah: After this manner will I mar the pride of Judah, And the great pride of Jerusalem.

۹ «خداوند چنین می‌فرماید: تکبر یهودا و تکبرعظیم اورشلیم را همچنین تباه خواهم ساخت.

10 This evil people, Who refuse to hearken to my words, Who walk after the obstinacy of their heart, And walk after strange gods, To serve them and to worship them, Shall be like this girdle, Which is good for nothing.

۱۰ و این قوم شریری که از شنیدن قول من ابانموده، سرکشی دل خود را پیروی می‌نمایند و درعقب خدایان غیر رفته، آنها را عبادت و سجده می‌کنند، مثل این کمربندی که لایق هیچکارنیست خواهند شد.

11 For as a girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, So have I caused to cleave to me the whole house of Israel, And the whole house of Judah, saith Jehovah, That they might be to me a people, And a name, and a praise, and a glory; But they hearkened not to me.

۱۱ زیرا خداوند می‌گوید: چنانکه کمربند به کمر آدمی می‌چسبد، همچنان تمامی خاندان اسرائیل و تمامی خاندان یهودا رابه خویشتن چسبانیدم تا برای من قوم و اسم و فخر و زینت باشند اما نشنیدند.

12 Then shalt thou speak to them in this manner. Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel: Every flagon shall be filled with wine. And they will say to thee, “Do we not know that every flagon shall be filled with wine?”

۱۲ پس این کلام را به ایشان بگو: یهوه خدای اسرائیل چنین می‌گوید: هر مشک از شراب پر خواهد شد وایشان به تو خواهند گفت: مگر مانمی دانیم که هرمشک از شراب پر خواهد شد؟

13 Then shalt thou say to them, Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, And the kings that sit upon David's throne, And the priests, and the prophets, And all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.

۱۳ پس به ایشان بگو: خداوند چنین می‌گوید: جمیع ساکنان این زمین را با پادشاهانی که بر کرسی داود می‌نشینندو کاهنان و انبیا و جمیع سکنه اورشلیم را به مستی پر خواهم ساخت.

14 And I will dash them one against another, Even fathers and children together, saith Jehovah; I will not pity, nor spare, Nor show mercy, so as not to destroy them.

۱۴ و خداوند می‌گوید: ایشان را یعنی پدران و پسران را با یکدیگر بهم خواهم‌انداخت. از هلاک ساختن ایشان شفقت و رافت ورحمت نخواهم نمود.»

15 Hear ye, and attend! be not lifted up! For Jehovah speaketh.

۱۵ بشنوید و گوش فرا‌گیرید و مغرور مشویدزیرا خداوند تکلم می‌نماید.

16 Give glory to Jehovah, your God, Before he bring darkness, And your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, And, while ye look for light, He turn it into deathlike shade, And make it gross darkness.

۱۶ برای یهوه خدای خود جلال را توصیف نمایید قبل از آنکه تاریکی را پدید آورد و پایهای شما بر کوههای ظلمت بلغزد. و چون منتظر نور باشید آن را به سایه موت مبدل ساخته، به ظلمت غلیظ تبدیل نماید.

17 But if ye will not hear, I will mourn in secret places for your pride, I will weep continually, And my eyes shall run down with tears, Because the flock of Jehovah is carried away captive.

۱۷ واگر این را نشنوید، جان من در خفا به‌سبب تکبرشما گریه خواهد کرد و چشم من زارزار گریسته، اشکها خواهد ریخت از این جهت که گله خداوندبه اسیری برده شده است.

18 Say to the king and to the queen, Sit ye down upon the ground, For your beautiful crown shall fall from your heads.

۱۸ به پادشاه و ملکه بگو: «خویشتن را فروتن ساخته، بنشینید زیرا که افسرها یعنی تاجهای جلال شما افتاده است.

19 The cities of the South are shut up, and none openeth them; Judah is carried away captive, all of it, Every man of it is carried away captive.

۱۹ شهرهای جنوب مسدود شده، کسی نیست که آنها را مفتوح سازد. و تمامی یهودا اسیرشده، بالکل به اسیری رفته است.

20 Lift up your eyes, and behold them that come from the North! Where is the flock that was given thee, thy beautiful flock?

۲۰ چشمان خود را بلند کرده، آنانی را که از طرف شمال می‌آیند بنگرید. گله‌ای که به تو داده شد وگوسفندان زیبایی تو کجا است؟

21 What wilt thou say when he shall punish thee? For thou thyself hast taught them to be lords over thee. Shall not sorrows seize thee, as a woman in travail?

۲۱ اما چون او یارانت را به حکمرانی تو نصب کند چه خواهی گفت؟ چونکه تو ایشان را بر ضرر خود آموخته کرده‌ای. آیا دردها مثل زنی که می‌زاید تو را فرونخواهد گرفت؟

22 And if thou say in thine heart, “Wherefore are these things coming upon me?” For the greatness of thy iniquity are thy skirts uncovered, And thy heels made bare.

۲۲ و اگر در دل خود گویی این چیزها چرا به من واقع شده است، (بدانکه ) به‌سبب کثرت گناهانت دامنهایت گشاده شده وپاشنه هایت به زور برهنه گردیده است.

23 Can the Ethiopian change his skin, Or the leopard his spots? Then may ye also do good, Who have been accustomed to do evil.

۲۳ آیاحبشی، پوست خود را تبدیل تواند نمود یاپلنگ، پیسه های خویش را؟ آنگاه شما نیز که به بدی کردن معتاد شده‌اید نیکویی توانید کرد؟

24 Therefore will I scatter you like stubble, Which passeth away before the wind of the desert.

۲۴ ومن ایشان را مثل کاه که پیش روی باد صحرا رانده شود پراکنده خواهم ساخت.»

25 This is thy lot, The portion measured out for thee by me, saith Jehovah, Because thou hast forgotten me, and trusted in falsehood.

۲۵ خداوند می‌گوید: «قرعه تو و نصیبی که ازجانب من برای تو پیموده شده این است، چونکه مرا فراموش کردی و به دروغ اعتماد نمودی.

26 Therefore will I lift up thy skirts over thy head, So that thy shame shall be seen.

۲۶ پس من نیز دامنهایت را پیش روی تو منکشف خواهم ساخت و رسوایی تو دیده خواهد شد.

27 Thine adulteries, thy neighings, The lewdness of thy whoredom on the hills, in the fields, All thy abominations, have I seen. Woe to thee, O Jerusalem! How long ere thou wilt become pure!

۲۷ فسق و شیهه های تو و زشتی زناکاری تو ورجاسات تو را بر تلهای بیابان مشاهده نمودم. وای بر تو‌ای اورشلیم تا به کی دیگر طاهرنخواهی شد!»
