Jeremiah 11
1 The word which came to Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying:
൧യഹോവയിൽനിന്ന് യിരെമ്യാവിനുണ്ടായ അരുളപ്പാട്:
2 Hear ye the words of this covenant, And speak ye to the men of Judah, And the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
൨“ഈ നിയമത്തിന്റെ വചനങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ട് യെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാരോടും യെരൂശലേം നിവാസികളോടും പ്രസ്താവിക്കുവിൻ.
3 And say thou to them, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel: Cursed is the man who will not obey the words of this covenant,
൩നീ അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടത് എന്തെന്നാൽ: “യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു. ഈ നിയമത്തിന്റെ വചനങ്ങൾ കേട്ടനുസരിക്കാത്ത മനുഷ്യൻ ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ.
4 Which I commanded your fathers, When I brought them forth from the land of Egypt, From the iron furnace, saying, “Obey ye my voice, And do all which I command you; So shall ye be my people, And I will be your God;
൪നിങ്ങളുടെ പൂര്‍വ്വ പിതാക്കന്മാരെ ഇരിമ്പുചൂളയായ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽ നിന്ന് കൊണ്ടുവന്ന നാളിൽ ഞാൻ അവയെ അവരോടു കല്പിച്ചു: നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടനുസരിച്ച് ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ സകലവും ചെയ്യുവിൻ; എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ എനിക്ക് ജനവും ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ദൈവവും ആയിരിക്കും” എന്നരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
5 So that I may perform the oath, Which I made to your fathers, To give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is this day.” Then answered I, and said, So may it be, O Jehovah!
൫ഇന്നുള്ളതുപോലെ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ പൂര്‍വ്വ പിതാക്കന്മാർക്ക് പാലും തേനും ഒഴുകുന്ന ദേശം കൊടുക്കും എന്ന് ഞാൻ അവരോടു ചെയ്ത സത്യം നിവർത്തിക്കേണ്ടതിനു തന്നെ”. അതിന് ഞാൻ: “ആമേൻ, യഹോവേ,” എന്ന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
6 Then said Jehovah to me, Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah, And the streets of Jerusalem, saying: Hear ye the words of this covenant, and do them!
൬അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ എന്നോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തത്: “നീ യെഹൂദാപട്ടണങ്ങളിലും യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ വീഥികളിലും ഈ വചനങ്ങളെല്ലാം വിളിച്ചുപറയുക: ‘ഈ നിയമത്തിന്റെ വചനങ്ങൾ കേട്ട് ചെയ്തുകൊള്ളുവിൻ.’
7 For I have earnestly admonished your fathers, From the time when I brought them up from the land of Egypt to this day, Rising early and admonishing them, saying, “Obey ye my voice!”
൭ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ പൂര്‍വ്വ പിതാക്കന്മാരെ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന നാളിലും ഇന്നുവരെയും ഞാൻ അതികാലത്തും ഇടവിടാതെയും അവരോട്: “എന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കുവിൻ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ് സാക്ഷീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
8 Yet they obeyed not, nor inclined their ear, But walked every one in the obstinacy of his evil heart; Therefore have I brought upon them all the words of this covenant, Which I commanded them to obey, And they obeyed not.
൮എന്നാൽ അവർ അനുസരിക്കുകയും ചെവി ചായിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യാതെ ഓരോരുത്തൻ അവനവന്റെ ദുഷ്ടഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ ശാഠ്യപ്രകാരം നടന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ അവരോടു ചെയ്യുവാൻ കല്പിച്ചതും അവർ ചെയ്യാതെയിരുന്നതുമായ ഈ നിയമത്തിന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ എല്ലാം ഞാൻ അവരുടെ മേൽ വരുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു”.
9 Jehovah also said to me: A conspiracy hath been found among the men of Judah, And the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
൯യഹോവ പിന്നെയും എന്നോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തത്: “യെഹൂദാപുരുഷന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിലും യെരൂശലേംനിവാസികളുടെ ഇടയിലും ഒരു കൂട്ടുകെട്ടു കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.
10 They turn back to the iniquities of their forefathers, Who refused to hearken to my words; They go after strange gods and serve them; The house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken the covenant Which I made with their fathers.
൧൦അവർ എന്റെ വചനങ്ങൾ കേട്ടനുസരിക്കാത്ത പൂർവ്വ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അകൃത്യങ്ങളിലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞ്, അന്യദേവന്മാരെ സേവിക്കുവാൻ അവരോടു ചേർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാൻ അവരുടെ പൂര്‍വ്വ പിതാക്കന്മാരോട് ചെയ്ത നിയമം യിസ്രായേൽ ഗൃഹവും യെഹൂദാഗൃഹവും ലംഘിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു”.
11 Therefore thus saith Jehovah: Behold I bring upon them a calamity, From which they shall not be able to escape; And though they cry to me, I will not hear them.
൧൧അതുകൊണ്ട് യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “രക്ഷപെടുവാൻ കഴിയാത്ത ഒരനർത്ഥം ഞാൻ അവർക്ക് വരുത്തും; അവർ എന്നോട് നിലവിളിച്ചാലും ഞാൻ കേൾക്കുകയില്ല.
12 Then may the cities of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem go, And cry to the gods to whom they burn incense; But they shall not save them at all in the time of their calamity.
൧൨അപ്പോൾ യെഹൂദാപട്ടണങ്ങളും യെരൂശലേം നിവാസികളും ചെന്ന്, അവർ ധൂപം കാട്ടിവന്ന ദേവന്മാരോടു നിലവിളിക്കും; എങ്കിലും അവർ അവരെ അനർത്ഥകാലത്തു രക്ഷിക്കുകയില്ല.
13 For according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah! According to the number of the streets of Jerusalem have ye set up altars to a thing of shame, Altars for burning incense to Baal.
൧൩യെഹൂദയേ, നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളുടെ എണ്ണത്തോളം നിനക്ക് ദേവന്മാരുണ്ട്; യെരൂശലേമിലെ വീഥികളുടെ എണ്ണത്തോളം നിങ്ങൾ ആ ലജ്ജാവിഗ്രഹത്തിനു ബലിപീഠങ്ങളെ, ബാലിനു ധൂപം കാട്ടുവാനുള്ള പീഠങ്ങളെ തന്നെ തീർത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
14 Therefore pray not thou for this people, Nor lift up a cry or a prayer for them; For I will not hear when they cry to me On account of their calamity.
൧൪അതിനാൽ നീ ഈ ജനത്തിനുവേണ്ടി പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കരുത്; അവർക്ക് വേണ്ടി യാചനയോ പക്ഷവാദമോ കഴിക്കുകയുമരുത്; അവർ അനർത്ഥംനിമിത്തം എന്നോട് നിലവിളിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ കേൾക്കുകയില്ല.
15 What hath my beloved to do in my house, While many pollute it with wickedness? The holy flesh shall pass away from thee, For when thou doest evil, thou rejoicest.
൧൫എന്റെ പ്രിയക്ക് എന്റെ ആലയത്തിൽ എന്ത് കാര്യം? അവൾ പലരോടുംകൂടി ദുഷ്കർമ്മം ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ; വിശുദ്ധമാംസം നിന്നെ വിട്ടു പോയിരിക്കുന്നു; ദോഷം ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ നീ ഉല്ലസിക്കുന്നു.
16 Jehovah hath called thee an olive-tree, Green, fair, and of goodly fruit; With the noise of a great crackling doth he kindle a fire upon it, And the branches of it shall be broken.
൧൬‘മനോഹര ഫലങ്ങളാൽ ശോഭിതമായ പച്ച ഒലിവുവൃക്ഷം’ എന്ന് യഹോവ നിനക്ക് പേർ വിളിച്ചിരുന്നു; എന്നാൽ മഹാകോലാഹലത്തോടെ അവൻ അതിന് തീ വച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളും ഒടിഞ്ഞു കിടക്കുന്നു.
17 For Jehovah of hosts, who planted thee, Hath pronounced evil against thee, On account of the wickedness of the house of Israel and of Judah, which they have committed In provoking me to anger by burning incense to Baal.
൧൭യിസ്രായേൽ ഗൃഹവും യെഹൂദാഗൃഹവും ബാലിനു ധൂപം കാട്ടി എന്നെ കോപിപ്പിച്ചതിനാൽ ദോഷം പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. അതിനാൽ നിന്നെ നട്ടിരിക്കുന്ന സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ നിനക്ക് അനർത്ഥം വിധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
18 Jehovah made it known to me, and I knew it; Thou didst show me their machinations!
൧൮യഹോവ എനിക്ക് വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയതിനാൽ ഞാൻ അത് അറിഞ്ഞ്; അങ്ങ് അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾ അന്നെനിക്കു കാണിച്ചുതന്നു.
19 For I was like a tame lamb, that is led to the slaughter, And knew not that they had formed plots against me, [[saying, ]] “Let us destroy the tree with its fruit, Let us cut him off from the land of the living, That his name may no more be remembered!”
൧൯ഞാനോ അറുക്കുവാൻ കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്ന ഇണക്കമുള്ള കുഞ്ഞാടുപോലെ ആയിരുന്നു; ‘അവന്റെ പേർ ആരും ഓർക്കാതെ ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതിന് നാം വൃക്ഷത്തെ ഫലത്തോടുകൂടി നശിപ്പിച്ച് ജീവനുള്ളവരുടെ ദേശത്തുനിന്ന് ഛേദിച്ചുകളയുക’ എന്ന് അവർ എന്റെ നേരെ ഉപായം നിരൂപിച്ചത് ഞാൻ അറിഞ്ഞതുമില്ല.
20 But, O Jehovah of hosts, the righteous judge, Who triest the reins and the heart, I shall see thy vengeance on them, For to thee have I revealed my cause!
൨൦നീതിയോടെ ന്യായം വിധിക്കുകയും അന്തരംഗവും ഹൃദയവും ശോധനകഴിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവേ, അവിടുന്ന് അവരോടു ചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രതികാരം ഞാൻ കാണുമാറാകട്ടെ; ഞാൻ എന്റെ വ്യവഹാരം അങ്ങയെ ബോധിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.
21 Therefore thus saith Jehovah against the men of Anathoth, Who seek thy life, and say, “Prophesy not in the name of Jehovah, Lest thou die by our hand!”
൨൧അതുകൊണ്ട്: “നീ ഞങ്ങളുടെ കയ്യാൽ മരിക്കാതെയിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന് യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ പ്രവചിക്കരുത്” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ് നിനക്ക് പ്രാണഹാനി വരുത്തുവാൻ നോക്കുന്ന അനാഥോത്തുകാരെക്കുറിച്ച് യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു:
22 Therefore thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Behold, I will punish them; Their young men shall die by the sword; Their sons and their daughters shall die by famine,
൨൨“ഞാൻ അവരെ സന്ദർശിക്കും; യൗവനക്കാർ വാൾകൊണ്ടു മരിക്കും; അവരുടെ പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും ക്ഷാമംകൊണ്ടു മരിക്കും.
23 There shall be none of them left; For I will bring evil upon the men of Anathoth, At the time of their punishment.
൨൩ഞാൻ അനാഥോത്തുകാരെ സന്ദർശിക്കുന്ന കാലത്ത് അവർക്ക് അനർത്ഥം വരുത്തുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് അവരിൽ ഒരു ശേഷിപ്പും ഉണ്ടാകുകയില്ല” എന്ന് സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
