James 5
1 Come now, ye rich men, weep and wail for your miseries that are coming upon you.
Vengan, ustedes, hombres ricos, entregándose a llorar y llorar a causa de los amargos problemas que vienen a ustedes.
2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are become moth-eaten;
Tu riqueza es corrupta, y la polilla a comido sus ropas.
3 your gold and silver is rusted, and the rust of them will be a witness against you, and will eat your flesh as fire; ye have heaped up treasure in the last days!
Su oro y su plata se ha corroído y su óxido será un testigo contra ustedes, quemándose en su carne como si fuera fuego. Has acumulado tesoro para los últimos días.
4 Behold, the hire of the laborers who reaped your fields, which is fraudulently kept back by you, crieth out; and the cries of those who reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Hosts.
Mira, el dinero que falsamente retuviste a los trabajadores que segaron, está clamando contra ti; y los gritos de los que cosecharon tu grano han llegado a los oídos del Señor de los ejércitos.
5 Ye have lived in luxury on the earth, and have been given to pleasure; ye have pampered your hearts in a day of slaughter.
Has estado viviendo en lujo y placeres en la tierra y han disfrutado; Has engordado tu corazón como en un día de matanza.
6 Ye have condemned, ye have killed the just man; he doth not resist you.
Has dado tu decisión contra el hombre recto y lo has dado muerte. Él no luchó contra ti.
7 Be patient therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and is patient about it, until it hath received the early and latter rain.
Continúen esperando pacientemente, mis hermanos, hasta la venida del Señor, como el granjero que espera el buen fruto de la tierra hasta que lleguen las lluvias tempranas y tardías.
8 Be ye also patient, establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
Tengan paciencia en su espera; manténganse firmes en sus corazones: porque la venida del Señor está cerca.
9 Murmur not against each other, brethren, that ye be not judged. Behold, the Judge standeth before the door.
No digan cosas difíciles unos contra otros, hermanos, para que no sean juzgados; mira, el juez está esperando en la puerta.
10 Take, brethren, the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord, for an example of affliction, and of patience.
Tomemos como ejemplo de dolor y paciencia de los profetas que hablaron a los hombres las palabras del Señor.
11 Behold, we count those happy who have endured. Ye have heard of the patience of Job; behold also the end of the Lord, that he is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.
Decimos que los hombres que han pasado por el dolor son felices: ustedes tiene la historia de Job y los problemas por los cuales paso y han visto que el Señor estaba lleno de compasión y misericordia al final.
12 But above all things, my brethren, swear not; neither by heaven, nor by the earth, nor by any other oath; but let your yea be yea, and your nay, nay; that ye fall not under condemnation.
Pero sobre todo, hermanos míos, no hagan juramentos, ni por el cielo, ni por la tierra, ni por ninguna otra cosa; pero su Sí sea Sí, y su No sea No; para que no sean juzgados.
13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any cheerful? let him sing praise.
¿Hay alguien entre ustedes afligido? deja que él diga oraciones. ¿Alguien está contento? déjalo hacer una canción de alabanza.
14 Is any sick among you? let him call to him the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.
¿Hay alguien entre ustedes que esté enfermo? que envíe por los ancianos de la iglesia; y que digan oraciones sobre él, poniéndole aceite en el nombre del Señor.
15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up; even if he have committed sins, it shall be forgiven him.
Y por la oración de fe, el hombre enfermo será sanado, y él será levantado por el Señor, y por cualquier pecado que haya hecho, tendrá perdón.
16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that ye may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Entonces, hagan una declaración de sus pecados unos a otros, y digan oraciones unos por otros para que puedan ser sanados. La oración fervorosa de un buen hombre tiene mucho poder.
17 Elijah was a man of like nature with us, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain; and it rained not on the earth for three years and six months;
Elías era un hombre de carne y hueso como nosotros, e hizo una fuerte oración para que no lloviera; y no hubo lluvia en la tierra durante tres años y seis meses.
18 and again he prayed, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.
Y él hizo otra oración, y el cielo hizo descender la lluvia y la tierra dio su fruto.
19 Brethren, if any one among you be led astray from the truth, and one convert him,
Hermanos míos, si uno de ustedes se apartó del camino de la fe verdadera y otro le hizo ver su error,
20 let him know that he who converteth a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death, and will cover a multitude of sins.
Asegúrese de que aquel por quien un pecador se ha apartado del error de su camino, salvará de muerte un alma, y cubrirá una multitud de pecados.
