Isaiah 9
1 But the darkness shall not remain where now is distress; Of old he brought the land of Zebulon and the land of Naphtali into contempt; In future times shall he bring the land of the sea beyond Jordan, the circle of the gentiles, into honor.
Ale jednak nie tak zaćmiona będzie ona ziemia, która uciśniona będzie, jako pierwszego czasu, gdy Bóg dotknął ziemię Zabulon, i ziemię Neftalim; ani jako potem, gdy obciążył ku drodze morskiej przy Jordanie Galileę ludną.
2 The people that walk in darkness behold a great light; They who dwell in the land of death-like shade, Upon them a light shineth.
Bo lud on, który chodzi w ciemności, ujrzy światłość wielką, a tym, którzy mieszkają w ziemi cienia śmierci, światłość świecić będzie.
3 Thou enlargest the nation; Thou increasest their joy; They rejoice before thee with the joy of harvest, With the joy of those who divide the spoil.
Rozmnożyłeś ten naród, aleś nie uczynił wielkiego wesela; wszakże weselić się będą przed tobą, jako się weselą czasu żniwa, jako się radują, którzy łupy dzielą;
4 For thou breakest their heavy yoke, And the rod that smote their backs, And the scourge of the taskmaster, As in the day of Midian.
Gdyż jarzmo brzemienia jego, a laskę ramienia jego, i pręt poborcy jego złamiesz, jako za dni Madyjańczyków,
5 For every greave of the warrior in battle, And the war-garment rolled in blood, Shall be burned; yea, it shall be food for the fire.
Gdzie się wszystka bitwa bojujących z trzaskiem stała, i szaty były we krwi zbroczone, a co się spalić mogło, ogniem spalono.
6 For to us a child is born, To us a son is given, And the government shall be upon his shoulder, And he shall be called Wonderful, counsellor, mighty potentate, Everlasting father, prince of peace;
Albowiem dziecię narodziło się nam, a syn dany jest nam; i będzie panowanie na ramieniu jego, a nazwią imię jego: Dziwny, Radny, Bóg mocny, Ojciec wieczności, Książę pokoju;
7 His dominion shall be great, And peace without end shall be upon the throne of David and his kingdom, To fix and establish it Through justice and equity, Henceforth and forever. The zeal of Jehovah of hosts will do this.
A ku rozmnożeniu tego państwa i pokoju, któremu końca nie będzie, usiądzie na stolicy Dawidowej, i na królestwie jego, aż je postanowi i utwierdzi w sądzie i w sprawiedliwości, odtąd aż na wieki. Uczyni to zawisna miłość Pana zastępów.
8 The Lord sendeth a word against Jacob; It cometh down to Israel.
Posłał Pan słowo do Jakóba, a upadło w Izraelu.
9 His whole people shall feel it, Ephraim, and the inhabitants of Samaria, Who say in pride and arrogance of heart,
I dowie się wszystek lud Efraim, i mieszkający w Samaryi, którzy w hardości i w wyniosłości serca mówią:
10 “The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones; The sycamores are cut down, but we will replace them with cedars.”
Cegły upadły, ale my ciosanym kamieniem budować będziemy, podrąbano płonne figi, ale my to w cedry odmienimy.
11 Jehovah will raise up the enemies of Rezin against them, And will arm their adversaries;
Aleć Pan wywyższy nieprzyjaciół Rasynowych nadeń, a nieprzyjaciół jego zbierze;
12 The Syrians before, the Philistines behind, Who shall devour Israel with wide jaws. For all this his anger is not turned away, But his hand is stretched out still.
Syryjczyków z przodku, a Filistyńczyków z tyłu, i pożrą Izraela całą gębą. A wszakże w tem wszystkiem nie odwróci się zapalczywość jego, ale jeszcze ręka jego będzie wyciągniona.
13 The people turn not to him that smiteth them; Neither do they seek Jehovah of hosts.
Przeto, że się lud ten nie nawraca do tego, który go bije, a Pana zastępów nie szuka:
14 Therefore shall Jehovah cut off from Israel the head and the tail, The palm-branch and the rush, in one day.
Dlatego Pan odetnie od Izraela głowę i ogon, gałąź i sitowie, dnia jednego.
15 [[The aged and the honorable are the head, And the prophet that speaketh falsehood is the tail.]]
(Starzec i uczciwy człowiek, ten jest głową, a prorok, który uczy kłamstwa, ten jest ogonem.)
16 For the leaders of this people lead them astray, And they that are led by them go to destruction.
Albowiem wodzowie ludu tego są zwodziciele, a którzy się im wodzić dadzą, zginęli.
17 Therefore shall the Lord have no joy in their young men, And on their orphans and widows he shall have no compassion; For they are all profane, and evil-doers; Every mouth speaketh folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, But his hand is stretched out still.
Dlatego z młodzieńców jego Pan się nie ucieszy, a nad sierotami jego, i nad wdowami jego nie zmiłuje się; albowiem wszyscy są obłudni i złośliwi, a każde usta mówią sprosność. A wszakże w tem wszystkiem nie odwróci się zapalczywość jego; ale jeszcze ręka jego będzie wyciągniona.
18 For wickedness burneth like a fire, It consumeth the briers and thorns, And it kindleth the thicket of the forest, So that it goeth up in columns of smoke.
Albowiem gdy się niepobożność jako ogień roznieci, pożre głóg i ciernie: potem zapali gęstwinę lasu, skąd się rozwieją jako dym na powietrzu.
19 Through the wrath of Jehovah of hosts is the land burned, And the people are food for the fire; No one spareth another.
Albowiem dla rozgniewania Pana zastępów zaćmi się ziemia, a ten lud będzie jako strawa ognia, i żaden bratu swemu nie przepuści.
20 They consume on the right hand, and yet are hungry; They devour on the left, and are not satisfied; Every one devoureth the flesh of his arm.
A porwieli co po prawej stronie, przecie łaknąć będzie; a będzieli żarł po lewej, przecie się nie nasyci; każdy z nich ciało ramienia swego żreć będzie;
21 Manasseh is against Ephraim, and Ephraim against Manasseh, And both together against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, But his hand is stretched out still.
Manases Efraima, a Efraim Manasesa, a obaj społu będą przeciwko Judzie. Wszakże w tem wszystkiem nie odwróci się zapalczywość jego; ale jeszcze ręka jego będzie wyciągniona.
