Isaiah 6
1 In the year in which King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne high and lifted up, and the train of his robe filled the temple.
No ano em que morreu o rei Uzias, eu vi ao Senhor assentado sobre um alto e sublime trono; e as suas fraldas enchiam o templo.
2 Around him stood seraphs; each one of them had six wings; with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he did fly.
Serafins estavam por cima dele: cada um tinha seis asas: com duas cobriam os seus rostos, e com duas cobriam os seus pés e com duas voavam.
3 And one called to another, and said: Holy, holy, holy is Jehovah of hosts; The whole earth is full of his glory.
E clamavam uns aos outros, dizendo: Santo, Santo, Santo é o Senhor dos exércitos: toda a terra está cheia da sua glória.
4 And the foundations of the thresholds were shaken with the voice of their cry. And the temple was filled with smoke.
E os umbrais das portas se moveram com a voz do que clamava, e a casa se encheu de fumo.
5 Then I said, Alas for me! I am undone! For I am a man of unclean lips, and dwell among a people of unclean lips, and mine eyes have seen the King, Jehovah of hosts.
Então disse eu: Ai de mim! que vou perecendo, porquanto sou de lábios imundos, e habito no meio dum povo imundo de lábios, porque os meus olhos viram o rei, o Senhor dos exércitos.
6 Then flew one of the seraphs to me, having in his hands a glowing stone, which he had taken with the tongs from the altar.
Porém um dos serafins voou para mim, trazendo na sua mão uma braza viva, que tomara do altar com uma tenaz;
7 And he touched my mouth, and said, Behold, this toucheth thy lips, and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin is expiated.
E com ela tocou a minha boca, e disse: Eis que isto tocou os teus lábios: assim já se tirou de ti a tua culpa, e já está expiado o teu pecado.
8 And I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? And I said: Behold, here am I; send me!
Depois disto ouvi a voz do Senhor, que dizia: A quem enviarei, e quem há e ir por nós? Então disse eu: Eis-me aqui, envia-me a mim.
9 And he said: Go, and say thou to this people, Hear ye, indeed, but understand not; See ye, indeed, but perceive not!
Então disse ele: vai, e dize a este povo: Ouvi, de fato, e não entendeis, e vede, em verdade, mas não percebeis.
10 Make the heart of this people gross; Make their ears dull, and blind their eyes; That they may not see with their eyes, nor hear with their ears, Nor perceive with their hearts, and turn, and be healed.
Engorda o coração deste povo, e agrava-lhe os ouvidos, e fecha-lhe os olhos; para que não veja com os seus olhos, e não ouça com os seus ouvidos, nem entenda com o seu coração, nem se converta, e ele o venha a sarar.
11 Then said I, How long, Lord? He said: Until the cities be laid waste, so that there be no inhabitant, And the houses, so that there be no man, And the land be left utterly desolate;
Então disse eu: Até quando, Senhor? E respondeu: Até que se assolem as cidades, e não fique morador algum, nem homem algum nas casas, e a terra seja assolada de todo.
12 Until Jehovah have removed the men far away, And there be great desolation in the land.
E o Senhor alongue dela aos homens, e no meio da terra seja grande o desamparo.
13 And though there be a tenth part remaining in it, Even this shall again be destroyed; Yet as when the terebinth and the oak are cut down, Their stem remaineth alive, So shall a holy race be the stem of the nation.
Porém ainda a décima parte ficará nela, e tornará a ser pastada: e como no carvalho, e como na azinheira, em que depois de se desfolharem, ainda fica firmeza, assim a santa semente será a firmeza dela.
