Isaiah 6
1 In the year in which King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne high and lifted up, and the train of his robe filled the temple.
যে বছরে রাজা উষিয় মারা যান, আমি প্রভুকে এক উচ্চ ও উন্নত সিংহাসনে বসে থাকতে দেখলাম। তাঁর রাজপোশাকের প্রান্তভাগে মন্দির পরিপূর্ণ ছিল।
2 Around him stood seraphs; each one of them had six wings; with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he did fly.
তাঁর নিকটে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ছয় ডানাবিশিষ্ট সরাফেরা। দুটি ডানা দিয়ে তারা মুখ ঢেকেছিলেন, দুটি ডানা দিয়ে তারা তাদের পা ঢেকেছিলেন এবং দুটি ডানা দিয়ে তারা উড়ছিলেন।
3 And one called to another, and said: Holy, holy, holy is Jehovah of hosts; The whole earth is full of his glory.
আর তারা পরস্পরকে ডেকে বলছিলেন, “পবিত্র, পবিত্র, পবিত্র, সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু, সমস্ত পৃথিবী তাঁর মহিমায় পরিপূর্ণ।”
4 And the foundations of the thresholds were shaken with the voice of their cry. And the temple was filled with smoke.
তাদের কণ্ঠস্বরের শব্দে দরজার চৌকাঠগুলি কেঁপে উঠল এবং মন্দির ধোঁয়ায় পূর্ণ হল।
5 Then I said, Alas for me! I am undone! For I am a man of unclean lips, and dwell among a people of unclean lips, and mine eyes have seen the King, Jehovah of hosts.
আমি চিৎকার করে উঠলাম, “ধিক্ আমাকে! আমি শেষ হয়ে গেলাম! আমি অশুচি ওষ্ঠাধরবিশিষ্ট মানুষ। আর আমার দুই চোখ মহারাজকে, সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভুকে দেখেছে।”
6 Then flew one of the seraphs to me, having in his hands a glowing stone, which he had taken with the tongs from the altar.
তখন সরাফদের মধ্যে একজন, তাঁর হাতে জ্বলন্ত অঙ্গার নিয়ে আমার কাছে উড়ে এলেন। সেই অঙ্গার তিনি বেদির মধ্য থেকে চিমটা দিয়ে নিয়েছিলেন।
7 And he touched my mouth, and said, Behold, this toucheth thy lips, and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin is expiated.
তা দিয়ে তিনি আমার মুখ স্পর্শ করলেন এবং বললেন, “দেখো, এটি তোমার ওষ্ঠাধর স্পর্শ করেছে; তোমার অপরাধ অপসারিত এবং তোমার পাপের প্রায়শ্চিত্ত করা হয়েছে।”
8 And I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? And I said: Behold, here am I; send me!
তখন আমি প্রভুর কণ্ঠস্বর শুনতে পেলাম। তিনি বলছিলেন, “আমি কাকে পাঠাব? কে আমাদের জন্য যাবে?” আমি বললাম, “এই যে আমি। আমাকে পাঠান!”
9 And he said: Go, and say thou to this people, Hear ye, indeed, but understand not; See ye, indeed, but perceive not!
তিনি বললেন, “তুমি যাও ও গিয়ে এই লোকদের বলো: “‘তোমরা সবসময় শুনতে থাকো, কিন্তু কখনও বোঝো না; সবসময় দেখতে থাকো, কিন্তু কখনও উপলব্ধি করো না।’
10 Make the heart of this people gross; Make their ears dull, and blind their eyes; That they may not see with their eyes, nor hear with their ears, Nor perceive with their hearts, and turn, and be healed.
তুমি এই জাতির লোকদের হৃদয় অসাড় করে দাও; তাদের কানগুলি উপড়ে ফেলো ও চোখগুলি বন্ধ করে দাও। নতুবা তারা তাদের চোখে দেখতে পাবে, তারা কানে শুনতে পাবে, তারা তাদের হৃদয়ে বুঝতে পারবে এবং আরোগ্যলাভের জন্য আমার কাছে ফিরে আসবে।”
11 Then said I, How long, Lord? He said: Until the cities be laid waste, so that there be no inhabitant, And the houses, so that there be no man, And the land be left utterly desolate;
তখন আমি বললাম, “ও প্রভু, তা কত দিন ধরে হবে?” তিনি উত্তর দিলেন, “যতদিন না নগরগুলি ধ্বংস হয়, তাদের মধ্যে জনপ্রাণী না থাকে, যতদিন না ঘরবাড়িগুলি জনশূন্য হয় ও মাঠগুলি ধ্বংস হয়ে ছারখার না হয়,
12 Until Jehovah have removed the men far away, And there be great desolation in the land.
যতক্ষণ না সদাপ্রভু সবাইকে দূরে প্রেরণ করেন এবং এই ভূমির কথা সকলে ভুলে যায়।
13 And though there be a tenth part remaining in it, Even this shall again be destroyed; Yet as when the terebinth and the oak are cut down, Their stem remaineth alive, So shall a holy race be the stem of the nation.
আর যদিও দেশের এক-দশমাংশ লোক অবশিষ্ট থাকে, তা পুনরায় জনশূন্য পড়ে থাকবে। কিন্তু তার্পিন ও ওক গাছ কেটে ফেললেও যেমন তাদের গুঁড়ি থেকেই যায়, তেমনই এই দেশে সেই গুঁড়ির মতো এক পবিত্র বংশ থেকেই যাবে।”
