Isaiah 59
1 Behold, Jehovah's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, Nor is his ear heavy, that it cannot hear;
੧ਵੇਖੋ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਛੋਟਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਬਚਾ ਨਾ ਸਕੇ, ਨਾ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਕੰਨ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਭਾਰੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸੁਣੇ ਨਾ।
2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God, And your sins have hidden his face from you, that he doth not hear.
੨ਸਗੋਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਬਦੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਲੁਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸੁਣਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ।
3 For your hands are polluted with blood, And your fingers with iniquity; Your lips speak falsehood, And your tongue muttereth wickedness.
੩ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਹੱਥ ਤਾਂ ਲਹੂ ਨਾਲ ਲਿੱਬੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਉਂਗਲੀਆਂ ਬਦੀ ਨਾਲ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਬੁੱਲ੍ਹ ਝੂਠ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਜੀਭ ਬਦੀ ਬਕਦੀ ਹੈ।
4 No one bringeth his suit with justice, And no one pleadeth with truth; They trust in vain words, and speak lies; They conceive mischief, and bring forth destruction.
੪ਕੋਈ ਆਪਣਾ ਮੁਕੱਦਮਾ ਧਰਮ ਨਾਲ ਪੇਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਸਚਿਆਈ ਨਾਲ ਇਨਸਾਫ਼ ਕਰਦਾ, ਉਹ ਫੋਕਟ ਉੱਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਝੂਠ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਝਗੜੇ ਨਾਲ ਗਰਭੀ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਬਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਨਮ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ!
5 They hatch the eggs of the basilisk, And weave the web of the spider; He that eateth of their eggs dieth, And when one of them is crushed, a viper breaketh forth.
੫ਉਹ ਨਾਗ ਦੇ ਆਂਡੇ ਸੇਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੱਕੜੀ ਦਾ ਜਾਲਾ ਉਣਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਂਡਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਖਾਵੇ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਤੋੜਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਫਨੀਅਰ ਸੱਪ ਨਿੱਕਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
6 Of their webs no garment is made, Nor can one cover himself with their work; Their works are works of iniquity, And the deed of violence is in their hands.
੬ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਬਸਤਰ ਨਾ ਬਣਨਗੇ, ਨਾ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਕਰਤੂਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਢੱਕਣਗੇ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਰਤੂਤਾਂ ਬਦੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਰਤੂਤਾਂ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ।
7 Their feet run to evil; They make haste to shed innocent blood. Their thoughts are evil thoughts; Oppression and destruction are in their paths.
੭ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਵੱਲ ਭੱਜਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਦੋਸ਼ ਦਾ ਲਹੂ ਵਹਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਾਹਲੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ਬਦੀ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਿਆਲ ਹਨ, ਵਿਰਾਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਬਰਬਾਦੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਸਤਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ।
8 The way of peace they know not, Nor is there any justice in their steps; They have made for themselves crooked paths; Whoso goeth in them knoweth not peace.
੮ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਉਹ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਰਗਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਨਸਾਫ਼ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਹੇ ਟੇਢੇ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਤੁਰਦਾ ਉਹ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ।
9 Therefore is judgment far from us, And deliverance doth not overtake us. We look for light, and behold obscurity; For brightness, and we walk in darkness.
੯ਇਸੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਨਿਆਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਧਰਮ ਸਾਡੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ, ਅਸੀਂ ਚਾਨਣ ਨੂੰ ਉਡੀਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖੋ, ਹਨ੍ਹੇਰਾ ਹੀ ਹਨ੍ਹੇਰਾ! ਅਤੇ ਉਜਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਘੁੱਪ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਲਦੇ ਹਾਂ।
10 We grope for the wall, like the blind; We feel our way, like those that are deprived of sight; We stumble at noonday as in the night; In the midst of fertile fields we are like the dead.
੧੦ਅਸੀਂ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਕੰਧ ਨੂੰ ਟੋਹੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਰਾਹ ਭਾਲਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਅਸੀਂ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਠੇਡਾ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਬਲਵਾਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਅਸੀਂ ਮੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਹਾਂ।
11 We groan, all of us, like bears, And like doves we make a continued moan; We look for judgment, and it cometh not; For salvation, and it is far from us.
੧੧ਅਸੀਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਰਿੱਛਾਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਗੁਰਰਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਅਸੀਂ ਘੁੱਗੀਆਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਹੂੰਗਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਅਸੀਂ ਨਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਡੀਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਹੈ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਮੁਕਤੀ ਨੂੰ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੈ।
12 For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, And our sins testify against us! For our transgressions are not hidden from us, And our iniquities we know.
੧੨ਸਾਡੇ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਹਜ਼ੂਰ ਵੱਧ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਾਪ ਸਾਡੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਸਾਡੇ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਬਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਾਂ।
13 We have rebelled, and proved false to Jehovah; We have departed from our God; We have spoken violence and rebellion; Our hearts have conceived and brought forth words of falsehood.
੧੩ਅਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਮੁੱਕਰ ਗਏ, ਅਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਚੱਲਣੋਂ ਹੱਟ ਗਏ, ਅਸੀਂ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਰੋਹੀ ਹੋ ਗਏ, ਅਸੀਂ ਮਨੋਂ ਜੁਗਤੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਝੂਠੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ।
14 And justice is turned back, And equity standeth afar off, For truth falleth in the gate, And rectitude cannot enter.
੧੪ਨਿਆਂ ਪਲਟ ਗਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਧਰਮ ਦੂਰ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਚਿਆਈ ਤਾਂ ਚੌਂਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਿੱਗ ਪਈ, ਅਤੇ ਸਿਧਿਆਈ ਅੰਦਰ ਵੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦੀ।
15 Truth is not to be found, And he that departeth from evil is plundered; And Jehovah saw it, And it displeased him that there was no justice.
੧੫ਸਚਿਆਈ ਲੱਭਦੀ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਬਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਭੱਜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਨਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਿਤੇ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।
16 He saw that there was none to help, And wondered that there was none to interpose; Then his own arm wrought salvation for him, And his righteousness it supported him.
੧੬ਉਹ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਦੰਗ ਰਹਿ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਵਿਚੋਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਭੁਜਾ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਲਈ ਬਚਾਓ ਕੀਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਧਰਮ ਨੇ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਭਾਲਿਆ।
17 He put on righteousness as a breastplate, And the helmet of salvation upon his head; He put on garments of vengeance for his clothing, And clad himself with zeal, as with a mantle.
੧੭ਉਹ ਨੇ ਧਰਮ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਜੋ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਪਹਿਨਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਦਾ ਟੋਪ ਰੱਖਿਆ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬਦਲਾ ਲੈਣ ਦੇ ਬਸਤਰ ਧਾਰਣ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਚੋਲੇ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਅਣਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲਿਆ।
18 According to their deeds will he repay them, —Wrath to his adversaries, recompense to his enemies; To the distant coasts will he repay a recompense.
੧੮ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਦਲਾ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ, ਆਪਣੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ, ਵਿਰੋਧੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਬਦਲਾ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਟਾਪੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।
19 They in the west shall fear the name of Jehovah, And they in the rising of the sun his glory, When he cometh like a river straitened in its course, Which a strong wind driveth along.
੧੯ਤਦ ਪੱਛਮ ਵੱਲ ਲੋਕ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਡਰਨਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਰਜ ਦੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਦੇ ਪਾਸਿਓਂ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਪਰਤਾਪ ਤੋਂ ਡਰਨਗੇ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਹੜ੍ਹ ਵਾਲੀ ਨਦੀ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਆਵੇਗਾ, ਤਦ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਝੰਡਾ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ ।
20 Yet shall a redeemer come to Zion, For them that turn from their transgressions in Jacob, saith Jehovah.
੨੦ਸੀਯੋਨ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਆਵੇਗਾ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਪਰਾਧਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮਨ ਫਿਰਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ।
21 And as for me, this is my covenant with them, saith Jehovah: My spirit, which is upon thee, And my words, which I have put in thy mouth, They shall not depart from thy mouth, Nor from the mouth of thy sons, Nor from the mouth of thy sons' sons, saith Jehovah, From this time forth forever.
੨੧ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰਾ ਇਹ ਨੇਮ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਚਨ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਏ, ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ, ਤੇਰੀ ਅੰਸ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਅੰਸ ਦੀ ਅੰਸ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ, ਹੁਣ ਤੋਂ ਸਦੀਪਕ ਕਾਲ ਤੱਕ ਕਦੇ ਨਾ ਮੁੱਕਣਗੇ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ।
