Isaiah 54

1 Sing, O thou barren, that didst not hear! Break forth into singing, and shout for joy, thou that wast not in travail! For more are the children of the desolate Than of the married woman, saith Jehovah.

Regocíjate, estéril, tú que estabas sin hijos, prorrumpe en júbilo y gritos de alegría, tú que nunca estuviste de parto; pues son más numerosos los hijos de la abandonada que los hijos de aquella que tiene marido, dice Yahvé.

2 Enlarge the place of thy tent, And let the canopy of thy habitation be extended! Spare not; lengthen thy cords, And make fast thy stakes!

Dilata el lugar de tu tienda, que se hagan más anchas las pieles de tu pabellón; no seas parca en ello, alarga tus cuerdas, y afianza tus estacas.

3 For on the right hand and on the left shalt thou burst forth with increase; And thy posterity shall inherit the nations, And people the desolate cities.

Pues te extenderás a la derecha y a la izquierda; porque tu prole poseerá las naciones, y poblará las ciudades desoladas.

4 Fear not, for thou shalt not be confounded; Blush not, for thou shalt not be put to shame. For thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, And the reproach of thy widowhood thou shalt remember no more.

No temas, pues no quedarás confundida; no te avergüences, porque no tendrás de qué avergonzarte. Te olvidarás de la vergüenza de tu juventud, y no te acordarás más del oprobio de tu viudez.

5 For thy husband is thy Maker; Jehovah of hosts is his name. Thy redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.

Porque esposo tuyo es tu Creador, cuyo nombre es Yahvé de los ejércitos, y tú redentor es el Santo de Israel, que se llama Dios de toda la tierra.

6 For as a woman forsaken, and deeply afflicted, hath Jehovah recalled thee, And as a wife wedded in youth, that hath been rejected, saith thy God.

Pues Yahvé te ha llamado (de nuevo) como a una mujer abandonada y afligida de espíritu, como a la esposa de la juventud que ha sido repudiada, dice tu Dios.

7 For a little moment I have forsaken thee, But with great mercy will I gather thee.

Por un breve momento te abandoné; mas con gran misericordia te acogeré de nuevo.

8 In overflowing wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment. But with everlasting kindness will I have mercy upon thee, Saith thy redeemer, Jehovah.

En un desborde de ira te oculté por un instante mi rostro; pero con eterna misericordia tuve compasión de ti, dice Yahvé, tu Redentor.

9 As in the time of the waters of Noah, so shall it be now; As I swore that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth, So do I swear that I will not be angry with thee, nor rebuke thee.

Pues esto es para Mí (como lo de) las aguas de Noé, cuando juré que las aguas de Noé no inundarían más la tierra; así he jurado no enfurecerme más contra ti, ni amenazarte.

10 For the mountains shall depart, And the hills be overthrown, But my kindness shall not depart from thee, Nor shall my covenant of peace be overthrown, Saith Jehovah, that hath pity on thee.

Aun cuando se muevan los montes y vacilen los collados, mi misericordia no se alejará de ti, y no vacilará mi alianza de paz, dice el que se compadece de ti, Yahvé.

11 O thou afflicted, beaten with the storm, destitute of consolation! Behold, I lay thy stones in cement of vermilion, And thy foundations with sapphires.

Pobrecita, azotada por la tempestad, y que estás sin consuelo, he aquí que Yo asentaré tus piedras sobre carbunclos, y te cimentaré sobre zafiros.

12 And I will make thy battlements of rubies, And thy gates of carbuncles, And all thy borders fill of precious stones.

Construiré tus almenas con rubíes, tus puertas con piedras de cristal; y toda tu muralla con piedras preciosas.

13 All thy children shall be taught by Jehovah, And great shall be the prosperity of thy children.

Todos tus hijos serán instruidos por Yahvé, y gozarán de abundancia de paz.

14 By righteousness shalt thou be established; Be thou far from anxiety, for thou shalt have nothing to fear, And from terror, for it shall not come near thee.

Serás restablecida en justicia; y estarás lejos de la opresión, pues nada tendrás que temer; y lejos del espanto, el cual no te alcanzará más.

15 If any be leagued against thee, it is not by my command; Whoever shall be leagued against thee shall come over to thee.

Si (enemigos) se juntan contra ti, no es de parte mía; cuantos se juntaren contra ti, delante de ti caerán.

16 Behold, I create the smith, Who bloweth up the coals into a fire, And produceth an instrument for his work; I also create the destroyer to lay waste.

He aquí que Yo he hecho al herrero, que sopla las brasas del fuego y forja el arma para su obra. Yo he hecho también al devastador para destruir.

17 Whatever weapon is formed against thee, it shall not prosper; And against every tongue that contendeth with thee, thou shalt obtain thy cause. This is the inheritance of the servants of Jehovah, And the blessing which they receive from me, saith Jehovah.

Toda arma forjada contra ti será ineficaz, y tú condenarás toda lengua que se mueva para juzgarte. Esta es la herencia de los siervos de Yahvé y la justicia que de Mí les vendrá —oráculo de Yahvé.
