Isaiah 49
1 Listen to me, ye distant lands! Attend, ye nations from afar! Jehovah called me at my birth; In my very childhood he called me by name.
ദ്വീപുകളേ, എന്റെ വാക്കുകൾ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക; വിദൂരതയിലുള്ള ജനതകളേ, ഇതു കേൾക്കുക: യഹോവ എന്നെ ഗർഭംമുതൽതന്നെ വിളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അമ്മയുടെ ഉദരത്തിൽവെച്ചുതന്നെ അവിടന്ന് എന്റെ പേര് പ്രസ്താവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
2 He made my mouth like a sharp sword; In the shadow of his hand did he hide me. He made me a polished shaft; In his quiver did he hide me.
അവിടന്ന് എന്റെ വായ് മൂർച്ചയുള്ള വാൾപോലെയാക്കി തന്റെ ഉള്ളങ്കൈയിൽ അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ മറച്ചു; എന്നെ മൂർച്ചയുള്ള ഒരു അസ്ത്രമാക്കി എന്നെ തന്റെ ആവനാഴിയിൽ മറച്ചുവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
3 He said to me, Thou art my servant; Israel, in whom I will be glorified.
“ഇസ്രായേലേ, നീ എന്റെ ദാസൻ; എന്റെ മഹത്ത്വം ഞാൻ നിന്നിൽ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തും,” എന്ന് അവിടന്ന് എന്നോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
4 Then I said, I have labored in vain; For naught, for vanity, have I spent my strength; Yet my cause is with Jehovah, And my reward with my God.
അപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞു: “ഞാൻ വെറുതേ അധ്വാനിച്ചു; ഞാൻ എന്റെ ശക്തി വ്യർഥമായും നിഷ്ഫലമായും ചെലവഴിച്ചു. എങ്കിലും എന്റെ അംഗീകാരം യഹോവയുടെ പക്കലും എന്റെ പ്രതിഫലം എന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കലും ആണ്.”
5 And now thus saith Jehovah, Who formed me from my birth to be his servant To bring Jacob to him again, And that Israel might be gathered to him, —For I am honored in the eyes of Jehovah, And my God is my strength, —
യാക്കോബിനെ തന്നിലേക്കു തിരികെ കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നതിനും ഇസ്രായേലിനെ തന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചേർക്കുന്നതിനും, തന്റെ ദാസനാകാൻ എന്നെ ഗർഭപാത്രത്തിൽ ഉരുവാക്കിയ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: കാരണം യഹോവയുടെ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ ഞാൻ മഹത്ത്വപ്പെടുകയും എന്റെ ദൈവം എനിക്കു ബലമായിരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.
6 He said, It is a small tiling that thou shouldst be my servant, To raise up the tribes of Jacob, And to restore the preserved of Israel; I will also make thee the light of the nations, That my salvation may reach the ends of the earth.
അവിടന്ന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു: “യാക്കോബിന്റെ ഗോത്രങ്ങളെ പുനഃസ്ഥാപിക്കാനും ഇസ്രായേലിലെ സംരക്ഷിതരെ തിരികെ വരുത്തുന്നതിനും നീ എനിക്കൊരു ദാസനായിരിക്കുന്നതു വളരെ ചെറിയ ഒരു കാര്യമാണ്. ഭൂമിയുടെ അറുതികൾവരെയും എന്റെ രക്ഷ എത്തേണ്ടതിന് ഞാൻ നിന്നെ യെഹൂദേതരർക്ക് ഒരു പ്രകാശമാക്കി വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.”
7 Thus saith Jehovah, the Redeemer of Israel, his Holy One, To him that is despised by men, abhorred by the people, To the servant of tyrants; Kings shall see, and stand up, Princes, and they shall pay homage, On account of Jehovah, who is faithful, The Holy One of Israel, who hath chosen thee.
ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുകാരനും പരിശുദ്ധനുമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു— വെറുക്കപ്പെട്ടവനും ജനതകളാൽ നിന്ദിക്കപ്പെടുന്നവനും ഭരണാധികാരികൾക്കു ദാസനുമായവനോടുതന്നെ: “യഹോവ വിശ്വസ്തൻ ആകുകയാലും നിങ്ങളെ തെരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നത് ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധൻ ആകുകയാലും രാജാക്കന്മാർ നിങ്ങളെക്കണ്ട് എഴുന്നേൽക്കുകയും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ നിങ്ങളെക്കണ്ട് നമസ്കരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.”
8 Thus saith Jehovah; In the time of favor will I hear thee; In the day of deliverance will I help thee; I will preserve thee, and make thee a mediator for the people, To restore the land, to distribute the desolated inheritances;
യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “പ്രസാദകാലത്തു ഞാൻ നിന്റെ പ്രാർഥനയ്ക്ക് ഉത്തരമരുളും, രക്ഷാദിവസത്തിൽ ഞാൻ നിന്നെ സഹായിക്കും; ദേശം പുനരുദ്ധരിക്കുന്നതിനും ശൂന്യമായിക്കിടക്കുന്ന അവകാശങ്ങൾ വീണ്ടും ഭാഗംവെക്കുന്നതിനും ജനങ്ങൾക്ക് ഒരു ഉടമ്പടിയായി, ഞാൻ നിന്നെ സംരക്ഷിച്ച് നിലനിർത്തും.
9 To say to the prisoners, Go forth! To them that are in darkness, Come to the light! They shall feed in the ways, And on all high places shall be their pasture.
തടവറയിലുള്ളവരോട്, ‘പുറത്തുവരിക’ എന്നും അന്ധകാരത്തിലിരിക്കുന്നവരോട്, ‘സ്വതന്ത്രരാകുക’ എന്നും പറയേണ്ടതിനുതന്നെ. “അവർ വഴികളിലെല്ലാം മേയും എല്ലാ മൊട്ടക്കുന്നുകളും അവർക്കു മേച്ചിൽസ്ഥലമാകും.
10 They shall not hunger, neither shall they thirst; Neither shall the heat nor the sun smite them; For he that hath compassion on them shall lead them; To springs of water shall he guide them.
അവർക്കു വിശക്കുകയില്ല, ദാഹിക്കുകയുമില്ല, അത്യുഷ്ണമോ വെയിലോ അവരെ ബാധിക്കുകയില്ല. അവരോടു കരുണയുള്ളവൻ അവരെ നയിക്കും, നീരുറവകൾക്കരികിലേക്ക് അവർ ആനയിക്കപ്പെടും.
11 And I will make all my mountains a highway; And my roads shall be prepared.
എന്റെ പർവതങ്ങളെല്ലാം ഞാൻ വഴിയാക്കിമാറ്റും, എന്റെ രാജവീഥികൾ ഉയർത്തപ്പെടും.
12 Behold! these shall come from far; And behold! these from the North and from the West, And these from the land of Sinim.
ഇതാ, അവർ ദൂരസ്ഥലത്തുനിന്നു വരും; വടക്കുനിന്നും പടിഞ്ഞാറുനിന്നും സീനീം ദേശത്തുനിന്നും അവർ വരും.”
13 Sing, O ye heavens, and rejoice, O earth! Break forth into singing, ye mountains! For Jehovah comforteth his people, And hath compassion on his afflicted ones.
ആകാശമേ, ആനന്ദത്താൽ ആർപ്പിടുക; ഭൂമിയേ, ആഹ്ലാദിക്കുക; പർവതങ്ങളേ, പൊട്ടിയാർക്കുക! കാരണം യഹോവ തന്റെ ജനത്തെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കുന്നു, തന്റെ പീഡിതരോട് അവിടത്തേക്ക് കനിവും തോന്നുന്നു.
14 Zion saith, “Jehovah hath forsaken me; The Lord hath forgotten me.”
എന്നാൽ സീയോൻ, “യഹോവ എന്നെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു, കർത്താവ് എന്നെ മറന്നുകളഞ്ഞു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
15 Can a woman forget her sucking child, So as not to have compassion on the son of her womb? Yet, should they forget, I will never forget thee!
“ഒരു സ്ത്രീക്ക് താൻ മുലയൂട്ടുന്ന കുഞ്ഞിനെ മറക്കാൻ കഴിയുമോ? തന്റെ ഗർഭത്തിൽ ഉരുവായ മകനോട് അവൾക്ക് കരുണ തോന്നാതിരിക്കുമോ? ഒരു അമ്മ മറന്നാലും ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ മറക്കുകയില്ല!
16 Behold, I have graven thee on the palms of my hands; Thy walls are ever before my eyes.
ഇതാ, ഞാൻ എന്റെ ഉള്ളംകൈയിൽ നിന്നെ വരച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ മതിലുകൾ എപ്പോഴും എന്റെ കൺമുമ്പിലുണ്ട്.
17 Thy children shall make haste; They that destroyed and laid thee waste shall depart from thee.
നിന്റെ മക്കൾ വേഗം വരും, നിന്നെ നശിപ്പിച്ചവരും ശൂന്യമാക്കിയവരും നിന്നെ വിട്ടുപോകും.
18 Lift up thine eyes around, and see! They all assemble themselves, and come to thee. As I live, saith Jehovah, Thou shalt surely clothe thee with them all, as with a rich dress; Thou shalt bind them on thee, as a bride her jewels.
കണ്ണുയർത്തുക, ചുറ്റുപാടും വീക്ഷിക്കുക; ഇവരെല്ലാം ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂടി നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്നു. ജീവനുള്ള ഞാൻ ശപഥംചെയ്യുന്നു, നീ അവരെയെല്ലാം ഒരു ആഭരണംപോലെ അണിയും; ഒരു മണവാട്ടിക്കെന്നപോലെ അവർ നിനക്ക് അലങ്കാരമായിത്തീരും,” എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
19 For thy waste and desolate places, and thy land laid in ruins, Shall now be too narrow for the inhabitants; And they that devoured thee shall be far away.
“നീ നശിപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ട് ശൂന്യമാക്കപ്പട്ടിരുന്നെങ്കിലും നിന്റെ ദേശം പാഴിടമാക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നെങ്കിലും ഇപ്പോൾ സ്ഥലം തികയാതെവണ്ണം നിന്റെ ജനത്തെക്കൊണ്ടു നിറയും, നിന്നെ വിഴുങ്ങിയവർ വിദൂരത്താകും.
20 Thou, that hast been childless, shalt yet hear thy sons exclaim: “The place is too narrow for me; make room for me that I may dwell.”
മക്കളെക്കുറിച്ചു നീ വിലപിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നകാലത്തു നിനക്കു ജനിച്ച നിന്റെ മക്കൾ നീ കേൾക്കെത്തന്നെ നിങ്ങളോട്, ‘ഈ സ്ഥലം ഞങ്ങൾക്കു വളരെ ചെറുതാണ്; ഞങ്ങൾക്കു പാർക്കാൻ ഇടംതരിക’ എന്നു പറയും.
21 And thou shalt say in thy heart, Who hath begotten me these? I surely was childless and unfruitful, An exile, and an outcast; who then hath brought up these? Behold, I was left alone; these, then, where were they?
അപ്പോൾ നീ നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ: ‘എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി ഇവരെ പ്രസവിച്ചത് ആര്? എന്റെ മക്കളെക്കുറിച്ചു വിലപിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ഞാൻ വന്ധ്യയും പ്രവാസിയുമായി അലഞ്ഞു നടന്നുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ, ഇവരെ ആര് പ്രസവിച്ചു വളർത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു? ഞാൻ ഏകാകിനിയായിരുന്നല്ലോ, ഇവർ എവിടെയായിരുന്നു?’ എന്നു പറയും.”
22 Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will lift up my hand to the nations, And set up my standard to the kingdoms; They shall bring thy sons in their arms, And thy daughters upon their shoulders.
യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ഞാൻ രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങൾക്ക് എന്റെ കരമുയർത്തി ഒരു അടയാളം നൽകും ജനതകൾ കാൺകെ എന്റെ കൊടി ഉയർത്തും; അവർ നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെ മാറിടത്തിൽ വഹിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുവരും, നിന്റെ പുത്രിമാരെ തോളിൽ ചുമന്നുകൊണ്ടുവരും.
23 And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, And queens thy nursing mothers; Upon their faces shall they bow down before thee, And lick the dust of thy feet. Thus shalt thou know that I am Jehovah; And they who trust in me shall not be put to shame.
രാജാക്കന്മാർ നിന്റെ വളർത്തപ്പന്മാരും അവരുടെ രാജ്ഞിമാർ നിനക്ക് വളർത്തമ്മമാരും ആയിരിക്കും. അവർ നിന്റെ മുന്നിൽ സാഷ്ടാംഗം വണങ്ങി നിന്റെ കാലിലെ പൊടിനക്കും. അപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ യഹോവയെന്നും എന്നിൽ പ്രത്യാശയർപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവർ ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകുകയില്ലെന്നും നീ അറിയും.”
24 Shall the prey be taken away from the mighty? Or shall the spoil of the terrible be rescued?
യോദ്ധാക്കളിൽനിന്ന് കവർച്ച കവരാൻ കഴിയുമോ? നിഷ്ഠുരന്മാരുടെ തടവുകാരെ മോചിപ്പിക്കുക സാധ്യമോ?
25 Yea, thus saith Jehovah, The prey shall be taken away from the mighty, And the spoil of the terrible shall be rescued; For with him that contendeth with thee will I contend, And I will save thy children.
എന്നാൽ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “യോദ്ധാക്കളിൽനിന്ന് തടവുകാർ മോചിക്കപ്പെടും, നിഷ്ഠുരന്മാരുടെ കവർച്ച കവർന്നെടുക്കപ്പെടും. നിന്നോടു പോരാടുന്നവരോടു ഞാൻ പോരാടും, നിന്റെ മക്കളെ ഞാൻ രക്ഷിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.
26 And I will cause thine oppressors to eat their own flesh; With their own blood shall they be drunk, as with new wine; And all flesh shall know that I Jehovah am thy saviour; That thy redeemer is the Mighty One of Jacob.
നിന്നെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്നവരെ അവരുടെ സ്വന്തം മാംസം ഞാൻ തീറ്റും; വീഞ്ഞുപോലെ സ്വന്തം രക്തം കുടിച്ച് അവർക്കു ലഹരിപിടിക്കും. യഹോവയായ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ രക്ഷകനും യാക്കോബിന്റെ ശക്തനായവൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പുകാരനും എന്ന് സകലജനവും അന്ന് അറിയും.”
