Isaiah 48
1 Hear this, O house of Jacob! Ye that are called by the name of Israel; Ye that have come forth from the fountain of Judah; Ye that swear by the name of Jehovah, And praise the God of Israel, But not in truth and sincerity!
Hörer detta, I af Jacobs hus, I som nämnens af Israel! namn, och af Juda vatten flutne ären; som svärjen vid Herrans Namn, och ihågkommen Israels Gud, dock icke i sanningene eller rättfärdighetene.
2 For they call themselves of the holy city, And stay themselves on the God of Israel, Whose name is Jehovah of hosts: —
Ty de nämna sig af dem heliga stadenom, och trösta uppå Israels Gud; som kallas Herren Zebaoth.
3 What hath happened I declared to you long ago; From my mouth it proceeded, and I made it known; On a sudden I effected it, and it came to pass.
Jag hafver tillförene förkunnat detta tillkommande; utaf minom mun är det gånget, och jag hafver låtit säga det; och gör det också med hast, att det kommer.
4 Because I knew that thou art obstinate, And that thy neck is a bar of iron, And that thy brow is brass,
Ty jag vet, att du äst hård, och ditt halsband är en jernsena, och ditt änne är af koppar.
5 I declared it to thee long ago; Before it came to pass, I made it known to thee; Lest thou shouldst say, My idol effected it, And my graven image, and my molten image ordained it.
Jag hafver förkunnat dig det tillförene, och hafver låtit säga dig det, förr än det kom; på det att du icke skulle säga: Min afgud gör det, och mitt beläte, och min afgud hafver det befallt.
6 Thou hast heard it; now see it all! And will ye not confess it? From this time I make you hear a new thing, Even a hidden thing, which thou hast not known.
Allt detta hörde och såg du, och hafver dock icke förkunnat det; ty jag hafver tillförene låtit säga dig ny och fördold ting, de du icke visste.
7 It is produced now, and not long ago; Before this day thou hast not heard of it, Lest thou shouldst say, Behold, I knew it.
Men nu är det skapadt, och icke på den tiden, och du hafver icke hört deraf en dag tillförene; på det du icke skulle säga: Si, det visste jag väl.
8 Yea, thou heardest it not; yea, thou knewest it not; Yea, it was not disclosed to thee long ago; For I knew that thou wast wholly faithless, And wast called rebellious from thy birth.
Ty du hörde det intet, och visste det ock intet, och ditt öra var på den tiden icke öppnadt; men jag visste väl, att du skulle föraktat, och äst en öfverträdare kallad allt ifrå moderlifvet.
9 For the sake of my name I will defer my anger, And for the sake of my praise I will restrain it from thee, That I may not utterly cut thee off.
Derföre är jag för mitt Namns skull långmodig, och för min pris skull vill jag, dig till nytto, hålla tillbaka, att du icke skall utrotad varda.
10 Behold, I have melted thee, and found no silver; I have tried thee in the furnace of affliction.
Si, jag vill bepröfva dig, men icke såsom silfver; utan jag vill göra dig utkoradan uti bedröfvelsens ugn.
11 For mine own sake will I do it; For how would my name be blasphemed? And my glory will I not give to another.
För mina skull, ja, för mina skull vill jag görat; på det jag icke skall försmädad varda; ty jag vill icke gifva mina äro enom androm.
12 Hearken to me, O Jacob, And Israel, whom I have called! I am He, I am the first, and I the last.
Hör mig, Jacob, och du Israel, min kallade: Jag äret; jag är den förste, jag är den siste.
13 Yea, my hand hath founded the earth, And my right hand hath spread out the heavens; I called them; they stood forth together.
Min hand hafver grundat jordena, och min högra hand hafver omspannat himmelen; hvad jag kallar, det står straxt redo.
14 Assemble yourselves, all of you, and hear! Who among you hath declared these things? He whom Jehovah loveth will execute his pleasure upon Babylon, And his power upon the Chaldaeans.
Församler eder alle, och hörer: Hvilken är ibland dessa, som detta förkunna kan? Herren älskar honom; derföre skall han bevisa sin vilja på Babel, och sin arm på de Chaldeer.
15 I, even I, have spoken; yea, I have called him; I have brought him, and his way shall be prosperous.
Tag, ja, Jag hafver sagt det, jag hafver kallat honom; jag vill ock låta honom komma, och hans väg skall honom lyckas.
16 Draw near to me, and hear ye this! I spake not in secret from the beginning; And since it began to be, I have been there; And now hath the Lord Jehovah sent me with his spirit.
Går hit till mig, och hörer detta: Jag hafver tillförene icke hemliga talat; ifrå den tiden, då det taladt vardt, är jag der. Och nu sänder mig Herren Herren, och hans Ande.
17 Thus saith Jehovah, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am Jehovah, thy God, who teacheth thee what will profit thee; Who leadeth thee in the way thou shouldst go.
Så säger Herren, din förlossare, den Helige i Israel: Jag är Herren din Gud, den dig lärer hvad nyttigt är, och leder dig på den vägen, som du går.
18 O that thou wouldst hearken to my commandments! Then shall thy peace be as a river, And thy prosperity as the waves of the sea;
O! att du ville akta uppå, min bud; så skulle din frid vara såsom en vattuström, och din rättfärdighet såsom hafsens våg;
19 Then shall thy posterity be as the sand, And the fruit of thy body as the offspring of the sea; Thy name shall not be cut off, nor destroyed before me.
Och din säd skulle varda såsom sand, och dins lifs frukt såsom hans små stenar; hvilkens namn icke skulle utrotadt varda, eller utstruket för mig.
20 Come ye forth from Babylon, flee ye from the land of the Chaldaeans with the voice of joy! Publish ye this, and make it known; Let it resound to the ends of the earth! Say: “Jehovah hath redeemed his servant Jacob;
Går ut af Babel, flyr ifrå de Chaldeer med glada röst; förkunner, och låter det höra, förer det ut allt intill verldenes ända; säger: Herren hafver förlossat sin tjenare Jacob.
21 They thirst not in the deserts through which he leadeth them; Waters from the rock he causeth to flow for them; He cleaveth the rock, and the waters gush forth.
De hade ingen törst, då han ledde dem i öknene; han lät dem flyta vatten ut af bergklippone, han klöf bergklippona, och der rann ut vatten.
22 There is no peace, saith Jehovah, for the wicked.”
Men de ogudaktige, säger Herren, hafva ingen frid.
