Isaiah 41
1 Keep silence, and hear me, ye distant lands. Ye nations, gather your strength! Let them come near; then let them speak; Let us go together into judgment.
Calai-vos perante mim, ó litorais; e os povos renovem as forças; aproximem-se, [e] então falem; juntamente nos aproximemos ao juízo.
2 Who hath raised up from the region of the East Him whom victory meeteth in his march? Who hath subdued nations before him, And given him dominion over kings? Who made their swords like dust, And their bows like driven stubble?
Quem o chamou desde o oriente, [e com] justiça o chamou ao seu pé? Ele [lhe] deu as nações perante sua face, e o fez dominar sobre reis, [e] os entregou à sua espada como o pó, como a palha fina levada por seu arco.
3 He pursued them, and passed in safety, By a path which his foot had never trodden.
Ele os persegue, [e] passa em segurança; por um caminho [onde] com seus pés nunca tinha ido.
4 Who hath wrought and done it? I, who have called the generations from the beginning, I, Jehovah, the first; And with the last also am I.
Quem operou e fez [isto], chamando as gerações desde o princípio? Eu, o SENHOR, do princípio aos últimos, eu mesmo.
5 Distant nations saw it, and were afraid; The ends of the earth, and trembled; They drew near, and came together.
Os litorais viram, e tremeram; os confins da terra tremeram; eles se aproximaram, e chegaram.
6 One helped another, And said to him, “Be of good courage!”
Cada um ajudou ao outro, e a seu companheiro disse: Sê forte.
7 The carpenter encouraged the smith, He that smoothed with the hammer him that smote on the anvil, And said, “The soldering is good,” And he fastened it with nails that it might not fall.
E o artífice encorajou ao ourives, o que alisa com o martelo ao que bate na bigorna, dizendo da soldagem: Boa é. Então com pregos o firmou, para que não se mova.
8 But thou, O Israel, my servant, Thou, Jacob, whom I have chosen, Offspring of Abraham, my friend!
Porém tu, ó Israel, servo meu; tu, Jacó, a quem escolhi, semente de Abraão, meu amigo;
9 Thou, whom I have led by the hand from the ends of the earth, And called from the extremities thereof, And said to thee, “Thou art my servant, I have chosen thee, and not cast thee away!”
Tu, a quem tomei desde os confins da terra, e te chamei desde seus mais extremos, e te disse: Tu és meu servo; a ti escolhi, e não te rejeitei.
10 Fear not, for I am with thee; Faint not, for I, thy God, will strengthen thee; I will help thee, and sustain thee, with my right hand of salvation!
Não temas, porque eu estou contigo; não te assombres, porque eu sou teu Deus. Eu te fortaleço, te ajudo, e te sustento com a minha mão direita de justiça.
11 Behold, all who are enraged against thee Shall be ashamed and confounded; All that contend with thee Shall come to nothing and perish.
Eis que serão envergonhados e humilhados todos os que se indignaram contra ti; eles se tornarão como o nada; e os que brigarem contigo perecerão.
12 Thou shalt seek and not find Them that contend with thee; They shall come to nothing, and be no more, Who make war against thee.
[Ainda que] os procures, tu não os acharás; os que lutarem contra ti se tornarão como o nada; e os que guerrearem contra ti, como coisa nenhuma.
13 For I, Jehovah, am thy God, that holdeth thee by the right hand, That saith to thee, “Fear not, I am thy helper!”
Porque eu, o SENHOR teu Deus, te seguro pela tua mão direita, [e] te digo: Não temas; eu te ajudo.
14 Fear not, thou worm Jacob, thou feeble people of Israel! I am thy helper, saith Jehovah; Thy redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.
Não temas, ó verme de Jacó, povinho de Israel; eu te ajudo, diz o SENHOR e teu Redentor, o Santo de Israel.
15 Behold, I will make thee a thrashing-wain, sharp and new, With double edges; Thou shalt thrash the mountains, and beat them small, And make the hills as chaff.
Eis que eu te pus como debulhador afiado, novo, que tem dentes pontiagudos. Aos montes debulharás, e moerás; e aos morros tornarás como a palhas.
16 Thou shalt winnow them, and the wind shall carry them away, And the whirlwind shall scatter them. But thou shalt rejoice in Jehovah, And glory in the Holy One of Israel.
Tu os padejarás, e o vento os levará; e o redemoinho os espalhará; porém tu te alegrarás no SENHOR, [e] te orgulharás no Santo de Israel.
17 When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, And their tongue is parched with thirst, I, Jehovah, will hear them; I, the God of Israel, will not forsake them.
Os pobres e necessitados buscam águas, mas nada [acham]; sua língua se seca de sede. Eu, o SENHOR, os ouvirei; eu, o Deus de Israel, não os desampararei.
18 I will open rivers upon the bare hills, And fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, And the dry land springs of water.
Abrirei rios em lugares altos, e fontes no meio dos vales; tornarei o deserto em tanques de águas, e a terra seca em mananciais de águas.
19 I will plant in the wilderness the cedar and the acacia, The myrtle and the olive-tree; I will place in the desert the cypress, The plane-tree and the larch together.
Plantarei no deserto o cedro, a acácia, a murta, e a oliveira; juntamente porei na terra vazia a faia, o olmeiro e o cipreste;
20 That they may see, and know, And consider, and understand together, That the hand of Jehovah hath done this, And that the Holy One of Israel hath created it.
Para que vejam, saibam, reflitam, e juntamente entendam que a mão do SENHOR fez isto; e o Santo de Israel isto criou.
21 Bring forward your cause, saith Jehovah; Produce your strong reasons, saith the king of Jacob.
Apresentai vossa demanda!, diz o SENHOR. Trazei vossos argumentos!, diz o Rei de Jacó.
22 Let them produce them, and show us what shall happen! Tell us what ye have predicted in times past, That we may consider, and know its fulfilment! Or declare to us things that are to come!
Tragam e anunciem-nos as coisas que irão acontecer; anunciai quais foram as coisas passadas, para que possamos dar atenção a elas, e saibamos o fim delas; ou dizei-nos as coisas futuras.
23 Let us hear what shall happen in future times, That we may know whether ye are gods; Do something, be it good or evil, That we may be astonished, and see it together!
Anunciai as coisas que ainda virão, para que saibamos que vós sois deuses; ou fazei o bem ou o mal, para que nos assombremos, e juntamente vejamos.
24 Behold, ye are less than nothing, And your work is less than naught; An abomination is he that chooseth you!
Eis que vós sois nada, e vossa obra não tem valor algum; abominação é quem vos escolhe.
25 I have raised up one from the north, and he cometh; From the rising of the sun he calleth upon my name; He trampleth upon princes as upon mortar; As the potter treadeth down the clay.
Eu suscitei [a um] do norte, que virá oriente, [e] invocará meu nome; e virá sobre os príncipes como [se fossem] lama, e como o oleiro pisa o barro.
26 Who hath declared this from the beginning, that we might know it, And long ago, that we might say, It is true? There was not one that foretold it, not one that declared it, Not one that heard your words.
Quem anunciou [coisa alguma] desde o princípio, para que o possamos saber, ou desde antes, para que digamos “correto é”? Porém não há quem anuncie [tal coisa] nem quem diga [coisa alguma], nem quem ouça vossas palavras.
27 I first said to Zion, Behold! behold them! And I gave to Jerusalem a messenger of glad tidings.
[Eu sou] o primeiro [que digo] a Sião: Eis que ali estão! E a Jerusalém darei um anunciador de boas novas.
28 I looked, but there was no man; Even among them, but there was none that gave counsel; I inquired of them that they might give an answer;
E olhei, porém ninguém havia. Até entre estes nenhum conselheiro havia a quem eu perguntasse, e ele me respondesse algo.
29 But behold, they are all vanity; Their works are nothing; Wind and emptiness are their molten images.
Eis que todos são falsidade, suas obras são nada. Suas obras de fundição são vento e sem valor algum.
