< Isaiah 38 >

1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death; and Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, came to him, and said to him, Set thy house in order, for thou shalt die, and not live.
Saa nna no mu no, Hesekia yaree owuyare, na Amos babarima Odiyifo Yesaia kɔɔ ne nkyɛn kɔkae se, “Sɛnea Awurade se ni: Toto wʼakwan yiye, efisɛ worebewu; na wo ho renyɛ wo den bio.”
2 Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and made his supplication to Jehovah.
Bere a Hesekia tee asɛm yi, otwaa nʼani hwɛɛ ɔfasu, bɔɔ Awurade mpae se,
3 And he said, I beseech thee, O Jehovah, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth, and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thine eyes! And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
“Kae, Awurade, sɛnea manantew wʼanim nokware mu na mede me koma ayɛ nea ɛfata wɔ wʼanim.” Na Hesekia suu bebree.
4 Then came the word of Jehovah to Isaiah,
Na saa asɛm yi fii Awurade nkyɛn kɔɔ Yesaia hɔ se,
5 Go in and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of David thy father: I have heard thy prayer; I have seen thy tears. Behold, I will add to thy life fifteen years.
“San kɔ Hesekia nkyɛn, na kɔka kyerɛ no se, ‘Sɛɛ na Awurade, wʼagya Dawid Nyankopɔn, ka: Mate wo mpaebɔ no, na mahu wo nisu. Mede mfe dunum bɛka wo nkwanna ho.
6 And I will deliver thee and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria, and I will defend this city.
Na megye wo ne kuropɔn yi afi Asiriahene nsam. Mɛbɔ kuropɔn yi ho ban.
7 And this shall be the sign to thee from Jehovah, that Jehovah will do that which he hath spoken.
“‘Na eyi ne nsɛnkyerɛnne a Awurade bɛyɛ de adi ho adanse sɛ, obedi ne bɔhyɛ so:
8 Behold, I will cause the shadow upon the dial, which hath gone down upon the dial of Ahaz with the sun, to go back ten degrees. So the sun went back ten degrees, which degrees it had gone down.
Mɛma owia ano sunsuma atwe akɔ nʼakyi anammɔn du wɔ Ahas antweri so.’” Ɛno nti, owiahyerɛn no kɔɔ nʼakyi anammɔn du.
9 The writing of Hezekiah, king of Judah, when he had been sick, and had recovered from his sickness.
Nea Yudahene Hesekia kyerɛw wɔ ne yare ne nʼayaresa akyi ni:
10 I said: “Now, in the quiet of my days, shall I go down to the gates of the under-world; I am deprived of the residue of my years.” (Sheol h7585)
Mekae se, “Mʼasetena mu nnapa yi mu ɛsɛ sɛ mefa owu apon mu na wogye me mfe a aka yi ana?” (Sheol h7585)
11 I said: “No more shall I see Jehovah, Jehovah in the land of the living. I shall behold man no more Among the inhabitants of stillness.
Mekae se, “Merenhu Awurade Nyankopɔn bio Awurade a ɔwɔ ateasefo asase so. Merenhu adesamma bio, anaa merenka wɔn a wɔte wiase yi ho bio.
12 My habitation is torn away and removed from me, Like a shepherd's tent; My life is rolled up as by the weaver; He cutteth me off from the thrum; Between morning and night wilt thou make an end of me!”
Wɔadwiriw me fi agu agye afi me nsam, te sɛ, oguanhwɛfo ntamadan. Matwa me nkwa so sɛnea ɔnwemfo twa me fi asadua so; awia ne anadwo wutwaa me nkwa so.
13 I waited till morning, and like a lion Did he crush all my bones; “Between morning and night wilt thou make an end of me!”
Mede ntoboase twɛn kosii ahemadakye, nanso wɔbobɔɔ me nnompe mu te sɛ gyata; awia ne anadwo wutwaa me nkwa so.
14 Like a swallow or a crane, so did I twitter; I did mourn as a dove; Mine eyes failed with looking upward; “O Lord, I am in distress; O, deliver me!”
Misuu sɛ asomfena anaa asukɔnkɔn; mitwaa adwo sɛ, aborɔnoma a ɔredi awerɛhow. Mʼani yɛɛ siamoo bere a mehwɛɛ soro. Mewɔ ɔhaw mu, Awurade, bra bɛboa me!”
15 What shall I say? He promised it, and he hath done it; I will walk humbly all my life On account of the bitterness of my soul.
Na dɛn na metumi aka? Wakasa akyerɛ me, na ɔno ankasa na wayɛ eyi. Mede ahobrɛase bɛnantew mʼasetena nyinaa mu me kra ahoyeraw yi nti.
16 Lord, it is thus that men live; From thee alone cometh the life of my spirit; Thou hast restored me, and caused me to live.
Awurade, ɛnam saa nneɛma yi so na nnipa nya nkwa na me honhom nso nya nkwa wɔ mu. Wode mʼakwahosan asan ama me nam so ama manya nkwa.
17 Behold, my anguish is changed into ease; In love thou hast delivered me from the pit of destruction; Thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.
Yiw, ɛyɛ me yiyeyɛ nti na mekɔɔ saa ahoyeraw yi mu. Wo dɔ nti, wode me siei na mankɔ ɔsɛe amoa mu; na wode me bɔne nyinaa akyɛ me.
18 For the under-world cannot praise thee; The realms of death cannot celebrate thee; They that go down to the pit cannot wait for thy faithfulness. (Sheol h7585)
Ɔda rentumi nkamfo wo; owu rentumi nto wo ayeyi nnwom; wɔn a wosian kɔ amoa mu no rentumi nnya anidaso wɔ wo nokware mu bio. (Sheol h7585)
19 The living, the living praise thee, as I do this day; The father to the children shall make known thy faithfulness.
Ateasefo nko na wobetumi akamfo wo, sɛnea mereyɛ nnɛ yi; agyanom ka wo nokwaredi ho asɛm kyerɛ wɔn mma.
20 Jehovah hath saved me; Therefore will we sing our songs with stringed instruments, All the days of our life, In the house of Jehovah.
Awurade begye me nkwa, na yɛde asanku bɛto nnwom yɛn nkwanna nyinaa wɔ Awurade fi.
21 Now Isaiah had said, let them take a lump of figs, and bruise them, and lay them upon the ulcer, and he shall recover.
Na Yesaia kae se, “Momfa borɔdɔma nyɛ nku mfa nsra pɔmpɔ no so, na ne ho bɛtɔ no.”
22 Hezekiah also had said, What is the sign that I shall go up to the house of Jehovah?
Na Hesekia bisae se, “Dɛn nsɛnkyerɛnne na ɛbɛda no adi sɛ, mɛkɔ Awurade asɔredan mu?”
