Isaiah 33
1 Woe to thee, thou spoiler, who hast not been spoiled! Thou plunderer, who hast not been plundered! When thou hast ceased to spoil, thou shalt be spoiled; When thou hast finished plundering, they shall plunder thee.
¡Ay de ti, el que saquéas, y nunca fuiste saqueado: el que haces deslealtad, y que nadie la hizo contra ti! Cuando acabares de saquear serás tu también saqueado; y cuando acabares de hacer deslealtad, se hará también contra ti.
2 O Jehovah, have mercy upon us! in thee do we trust; Be thou our strength every morning, Our salvation in the time of trouble.
O! Jehová, ten misericordia de nosotros, a ti esperamos: tú que fuiste brazo de ellos en la mañana, sé también nuestra salud en tiempo de la tribulación.
3 At the voice of thy thunder the people flee; When thou dost arise, the nations are scattered.
Pueblos huyeron de la voz del estruendo: naciones fueron esparcidas, cuando tú te levantabas contra ellas.
4 Your spoil shall be gathered, as the locust gathereth; As the locust runneth, so shall they run upon it.
Vuestra presa será cogida como cuando cogen pulgón: como cuando van a la langosta que anda en algún lugar.
5 Jehovah is exalted; Yea, he dwelleth on high; He filleth Zion with justice and righteousness.
Jehová será ensalzado, el cual mora en las alturas; porque hinchió a Sión de juicio y de justicia.
6 There shall be security in thy times; Wisdom and knowledge shall be thy store of prosperity, And the fear of Jehovah, this shall be thy treasure!
Y habrá firmeza de tus tiempos: fortaleza, saludes, sabiduría, y ciencia: el temor de Jehová será su tesoro.
7 Behold, the mighty men cry without: The ambassadors of peace weep bitterly.
He aquí que sus embajadores darán voces afuera; los mensajeros de paz llorarán amargamente.
8 The highways are desolate; The traveller ceaseth; He breaketh the covenant; he despiseth the cities; Of men he maketh no account.
Las calzadas serán deshechas, los caminantes cesarán: anuló la alianza, aborreció las ciudades, tuvo los hombres en nada.
9 The land mourneth and languisheth; Lebanon is put to shame, and withered away; Sharon is like a desert, And Bashan and Carmel are stripped of their leaves.
Enlutóse, enfermó la tierra: el Líbano se avergonzó, y fue cortado: Sarón fue tornado como desierto: Basán, y Carmelo fueron sacudidos.
10 Now will I arise, saith Jehovah, Now will I exalt myself, Now will I lift myself up.
Ahora me levantaré, dice Jehová: ahora seré ensalzado, ahora seré engrandecido.
11 Ye shall conceive chaff, and bring forth stubble; Your own wrath is the fire which shall devour you.
Concebisteis hojarascas, pariréis aristas: el soplo de vuestro fuego os consumirá.
12 The nations shall be burnt into lime; Like thorns cut down, they shall be consumed with fire.
Y los pueblos serán cal quemada: espinas cortadas, serán quemadas con fuego.
13 Hear, ye that are far off, what I have done; Mark, ye that are near, my power!
Oíd los que estáis lejos, lo que he hecho: conocéd los cercanos mi potencia.
14 The sinners in Zion are struck with dread; Terror hath seized upon the unrighteous: “Who among us can dwell in devouring fire? Who among us can dwell in everlasting flames?”
Los pecadores se asombraron en Sión, espanto comprendió a los hipócritas. ¿Quién de nosotros morará con el fuego consumidor? ¿Quién de nosotros habitará con las llamas eternas?
15 He that walketh in righteousness, And speaketh that which is right, That despiseth the gain of oppression, And shaketh his hands from bribery, That stoppeth his ears, so as not to hear of blood, And shutteth his eyes, so as not to behold iniquity.
El que camina en justicias, el que habla rectitud, el que aborrece la ganancia de violencias, el que sacude sus manos de recibir cohecho, el que tapa su oreja por no oír sangres, el que cierra sus ojos por no ver cosa mala:
16 He shall dwell on high; The strongholds of rocks shall be his defence; His bread shall be given him; His water shall not fail.
Este habitará en las alturas: fortalezas de rocas serán su lugar de acogimiento: a este se dará su pan, y sus aguas serán ciertas.
17 Thine eyes shall see the king in his glory They shall survey a wide-extended land.
Tus ojos verán al rey en su hermosura: verán la tierra que está lejos.
18 Thy heart shall meditate on the past terror: “Where now is the scribe? Where the weigher of tribute? Where he that numbered the towers?”
Tu corazón imaginará el espanto. ¿Qué es del escribano? ¿Qué es del pesador? ¿Qué es del que pone en lista las casas más insignes?
19 Thou shalt see no more a fierce people, A people of a dark language, which thou couldst not hear, And of a barbarous tongue, which thou couldst not understand;
No verás aquel pueblo espantable, pueblo de lengua oscura de entender, de lengua tartamuda que no le comprendas.
20 Thou shalt see Zion, the city of our solemn feasts; Thine eyes shall behold Jerusalem, as a quiet habitation. A tent that shall never be moved, Whose stakes shall never be taken away, And whose cords shall never be broken.
Verás a Sión ciudad de nuestras solemnidades: tus ojos verán a Jerusalem morada de quietud, tienda que no será desarmada: ni sus estacas serán arrancadas, ni ninguna de sus cuerdas será rompida.
21 For there the glorious Jehovah will be to us Instead of rivers and broad streams, Which no oared galley shall pass, And no gallant ship go through.
Porque ciertamente allí será fuerte a nosotros Jehová, lugar de riberas, de arroyos muy anchos: por el cual no andará galera, y por el cual no pasará grande navío.
22 For Jehovah is our judge; Jehovah is our lawgiver; Jehovah is our king; it is he that will save us.
Porque Jehová será nuestro juez, Jehová nuestro dador de leyes, Jehová será nuestro rey: el mismo nos salvará.
23 Thy ropes hang loose; They cannot hold the mast-socket, Nor can they spread the sail. Then shall a great spoil be divided; Even the lame shall take the prey.
Tus cuerdas se aflojaron: no afirmaron su mástil, ni entesaron la vela: repartióse presa de muchos despojos: hasta los cojos arrebataron presa.
24 No inhabitant shall say, I am sick; The people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.
No dirá el morador: Estoy enfermo: el pueblo que morare en ella será absuelto de pecado.
