Isaiah 26
1 In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah: “We have a strong city; His aid doth God appoint for walls and bulwarks.
N'aquelle dia se cantará este cantico na terra de Judah: Uma forte cidade temos, Deus lhe poz a salvação por muros e antemuros.
2 Open ye the gates, That the righteous nation may enter in, The nation that keepeth the truth.
Abri as portas, para que entre n'ellas a nação justa, que observa a verdade.
3 Him that is of a steadfast mind Thou wilt keep in continual peace, Because he trusteth in thee.
Tu conservarás em paz aquelle cuja mente está firme em ti, porque confiará em ti
4 Trust ye in Jehovah forever, For the Lord Jehovah is an everlasting rock.
Confiae no Senhor perpetuamente; porque em Deus Senhor ha uma rocha eterna.
5 For he hath brought down the inhabitants of the fortress; The lofty city he hath laid low; He hath laid her low even to the ground; He hath levelled her with the dust.
Porque elle abate os que habitam em logares sublimes, como tambem a cidade exalçada humilhará até ao chão, e a derribará até ao pó
6 The foot trampleth upon her, The feet of the poor, the steps of the needy.
O pé a atropellará; os pés dos afflictos, e os passos dos pobres.
7 The way of the upright is a smooth way; Thou, O most righteous, doth level the path of the upright!
O caminho do justo é todo plano: tu rectamente pesas o andar do justo.
8 In the way of thy judgments, O Jehovah, we have waited for thee; The desire of our souls is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee.
Até no caminho dos teus juizos, Senhor, te esperamos, no teu nome e na tua lembrança está o desejo da nossa alma.
9 My soul longeth for thee in the night, And my spirit within me seeketh thee in the morning; For when thy judgments are in the earth, The inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.
Na minha alma te desejei de noite, e com o meu espirito, que está dentro de mim, madrugarei a buscar-te; porque, havendo os teus juizos na terra, os moradores do mundo aprendem justiça.
10 Though favor be shown to the wicked, He will not learn righteousness; In the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, And have no regard to the majesty of Jehovah.
Ainda que se faça favor ao impio, nem por isso aprende a justiça; até na terra da rectidão obra iniquidade, e não olha para a alteza do Senhor.
11 Thy hand, O Jehovah, is lifted up, yet do they not see; But they shall see with shame thy zeal for thy people; Yea, fire shall devour thine adversaries.
Ó Senhor, ainda que esteja exaltada a tua mão, nem por isso a vêem: vel-a-hão, porém, e confundir-se-hão por causa do zelo que tens do teu povo; e o fogo consumirá a teus adversarios.
12 Thou, O Jehovah, wilt give us peace; For all our works thou doest for us.
Ó Senhor, tu nos darás a paz, porque tu és o que fizeste em nós todas as nossas obras.
13 O Jehovah, our God, other lords have had dominion over us besides thee; Only through thee do we call upon thy name.
Ó Senhor Deus nosso, já outros senhores teem tido dominio sobre nós; porém, por ti só, nos lembramos do teu nome
14 They are dead, they shall not live; They are shades, they shall not rise. For thou hast visited and destroyed them, And caused all the memory of them to perish.
Morrendo elles, não tornarão a viver; fallecendo, não resuscitarão; por isso os visitaste e destruiste, e apagaste toda a sua memoria.
15 “Thou wilt enlarge the nation, O Jehovah! Thou wilt enlarge the nation; thou wilt glorify thyself; Thou wilt widely extend all the borders of the land.
Tu, Senhor, augmentaste a esta gente, tu augmentaste a esta gente, fizeste-te glorioso; mas longe os lançaste, a todos os fins da terra.
16 O Jehovah, in affliction they sought thee; They poured out their prayer, when thy chastisement was upon them.
Ó Senhor, no aperto te visitaram; vindo sobre elles a tua correcção, derramaram a sua oração secreta.
17 As a woman with child, when her delivery is near, Is in anguish, and crieth aloud in her pangs, So have we been, far from thy presence, O Jehovah!
Como a mulher gravida, quando está proxima ao parto, tem dôres do parto, e dá gritos nas suas dôres, assim fomos nós por causa da tua face, ó Senhor!
18 We have been with child; we have been in anguish, Yet have, as it were, brought forth wind. To the land we bring no deliverance; Nor are the inhabitants of the land born.
Bem concebemos nós, e tivemos dôres de parto, porém parimos só vento: livramento não trouxemos á terra, nem cairam os moradores do mundo
19 O might thy dead live again, Might the dead bodies of my people arise! Awake, and sing, ye that dwell in the dust! For thy dew is like the dew upon plants, And the earth shall bring forth her dead.”
Os teus mortos viverão, como tambem o meu corpo morto, e assim resuscitarão; despertae e exultae, os que habitaes no pó, porque o teu orvalho será como o orvalho de hortaliças, e a terra lançará de si os mortos
20 Come, my people, enter into thy chambers, And shut thy doors behind thee; Hide thyself for a little moment, Until the indignation be overpast!
Vae pois, povo meu, entra nos teus quartos, e fecha as tuas portas sobre ti: esconde-te por um só momento, até que passe a ira.
21 For behold, Jehovah cometh forth from his place, To punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity; And the earth shall disclose her blood, And shall no longer cover her slain.
Porque eis-que o Senhor sairá do seu logar, para castigar os moradores da terra, por causa da sua iniquidade, e a terra descobrirá o seu sangue, e não encobrirá mais os seus mortos á espada.
