Isaiah 22
1 The prophecy concerning the valley of vision. What aileth thee now, That all thine inhabitants are gone up to the house-tops?
দর্শন-উপত্যকার বিরুদ্ধে এক ভবিষ্যদ্বাণী: তোমাদের এখন সমস্যাটা কী যে তোমরা সবাই ছাদের উপরে উঠেছ?
2 Thou that wast full of noise, A tumultuous city, a joyous city! Thy slain fall not by the sword; They are not slain in battle.
ওহে বিশৃঙ্খলায় পূর্ণ নগর, ওহে কোলাহল ও হৈ হট্টগোলে পূর্ণ নগরী? তোমার নিহতেরা তরোয়ালের দ্বারা মারা যায়নি, তারা কেউ যুদ্ধেও মরেনি।
3 All thy leaders flee together, By the bowmen are they bound; All found within thee are made captive together, Even they who have fled from afar.
তোমাদের সব নেতা একসঙ্গে পলায়ন করেছে; ধনুক ব্যবহার না করেই তাদের ধরা হয়েছে। তোমাদের মধ্যে যারা ধৃত হয়েছে, তারা একসঙ্গে বন্দি হয়েছে, যদিও শত্রু দূরে থাকতেই তারা পালিয়ে গিয়েছিল।
4 Therefore, say I, look away from me, that I may weep bitterly; Strive not to comfort me for the desolation of the daughter of my people!
তাই আমি বললাম, “আমার কাছ থেকে ফিরে যাও, আমাকে তীব্র রোদন করতে দাও। আমার জাতির বিনাশের জন্য আমাকে সান্ত্বনা দেওয়ার চেষ্টা কোরো না।”
5 For a day of trouble, of desolation, and of perplexity cometh From the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, in the valley of vision. They break down the walls; The cry reacheth to the mountains.
প্রভু, সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভুর একটি দিন আছে, দর্শন-উপত্যকায় বিশৃঙ্খলার, পদদলিত করার ও বিভীষিকার, প্রাচীর ভেঙে ফেলার একটি দিন ও পর্বতগুলির কাছে কাঁদার।
6 Elam beareth the quiver, With chariots full of men, and with horsemen; Kir uncovereth the shield.
এলম তার রথারোহীদের ও অশ্বের সঙ্গে তার তির রাখার তূণ তুলে নিয়েছে; কীরের লোকেরা ঢালগুলি অনাবৃত করেছে।
7 Thy fairest valleys, [[O Jerusalem, ]] are full of chariots; The horsemen set themselves in array against the gate;
তোমাদের বাছাই করা উপত্যকাগুলি রথে পরিপূর্ণ, সমস্ত নগরদ্বারে অশ্বারোহীদের নিযুক্ত করা হয়েছে।
8 The veil of Judah is torn from her. But in such a day ye look to the armor of the house of the forest;
যিহূদার প্রতিরক্ষা ব্যবস্থা ভেঙে পড়েছে আর তুমি সেদিন অরণ্যের প্রাসাদে রাখা অস্ত্রশস্ত্রগুলির দিকে তাকিয়েছিলে;
9 Ye mark how many are the breaches of the city of David, And collect the waters of the lower pool;
তুমি দেখেছিলে যে, দাউদ-নগরের প্রতিরক্ষা ব্যবস্থায় অনেক ফাটল ছিল, তুমি নিম্নতর পুষ্করিণীতে জল সঞ্চয় করেছিলে।
10 Ye number the houses of Jerusalem, And ye break down the houses to prepare the wall;
তুমি জেরুশালেমের ভবনগুলি গণনা করেছিলে ও অনেক ঘরবাড়ি ভেঙে দেওয়ালগুলি শক্ত করেছিলে।
11 Ye make a reservoir between the two walls for the waters of the old pool; But ye look not to Him who hath done this; Ye regard not Him that hath prepared this from afar.
তুমি পুরাতন পুষ্করিণীর জলের জন্য দুই প্রাচীরের মধ্যে জলাধার তৈরি করেছিলে, কিন্তু যিনি এই ঘটনা ঘটতে দিয়েছেন, তোমরা তাঁর দিকে দৃষ্টি করলে না, বা যিনি বহুপূর্বে এর পরিকল্পনা করেছিলেন, তাঁকে ভক্তি প্রদর্শন করলে না।
12 The Lord, Jehovah of hosts, calleth you this day To weeping and to lamentation, To baldness and to girding with sackcloth.
প্রভু, সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু, সেদিন তোমাকে আহ্বান করেছিলেন যেন তোমরা কাঁদো ও বিলাপ করো, যেন তোমরা মাথার চুল ছিঁড়ে শোকবস্ত্র পরে নাও।
13 But, behold, joy and gladness, Slaying oxen and killing sheep, Eating flesh and drinking wine! “Let us eat and drink, For to-morrow we die!”
কিন্তু দেখো, কেবলই আনন্দ ও হৈ হট্টগোল, গৃহপালিত পশুর নিধন ও মেষ হত্যা, মাংস ভোজন ও দ্রাক্ষারস পান! তোমরা বলেছ, “এসো, আমরা ভোজন ও পান করি, কারণ আগামীকাল আমরা মারা যাব!”
14 Therefore it hath been revealed in my ears by Jehovah of hosts; “This iniquity shall not be forgiven you, till ye die,” Saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts.
সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু আমার কানে এই কথা প্রকাশ করলেন: “তোমাদের মৃত্যুদিন পর্যন্ত, এই পাপের প্রায়শ্চিত্ত করা যাবে না,” একথা বলেন প্রভু, যিনি সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু।
15 Thus saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts: Go in to this steward, To Shebna, who is over the household, and say,
প্রভু, সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু, এই কথা বলেন: “তুমি শিব্ন, যে প্রাসাদের তত্ত্বাবধায়ক, ওই পরিচারকের কাছে গিয়ে বলো:
16 What hast thou here, and whom hast thou here, That thou here hewest thee out a sepulchre, —That thou hewest out thy sepulchre on high, And gravest out a habitation for thyself in the rock?
তুমি এখানে কী করছ আর কে-ই বা তোমাকে অনুমতি দিয়েছে তোমার কবর এখানে কেটে রাখার, পাহাড়ের উপরে তোমার কবর খোদাই করার, শৈলের মধ্যে তোমার বিশ্রামস্থান বাটালি দিয়ে নির্মাণ করার?
17 Behold, Jehovah will cast thee headlong with a mighty thrust;
“তুমি সাবধান হও, ওহে শক্তিশালী মানুষ, সদাপ্রভু তোমাকে শক্ত হাতে ধরে নিক্ষেপ করতে চলেছেন।
18 He will violently roll thee together like a ball; Like a ball will he hurl thee into a wide country. There shalt thou die; And there shall be thy splendid chariots, Thou disgrace of the house of thy lord!
তিনি তোমাকে শক্ত করে গুটিয়ে বলের মতো করবেন এবং বৃহৎ এক দেশে তোমাকে ছুঁড়ে দেবেন। সেখানে তোমার মৃত্যু হবে আর তোমার অহংকারের রথগুলি সেখানেই থাকবে, যেগুলি তোমার মনিবের গৃহের কলঙ্কস্বরূপ হবে!
19 I will drive thee from thy post, And from thy station I will pull thee down.
আমি তোমার কার্যালয় থেকে তোমাকে বরখাস্ত করব, তোমার পদ থেকে তুমি বহিষ্কৃত হবে।
20 In that day I will call my servant, Even Eliakim, the son of Hilkiah;
“সেদিন, আমি আমার দাস, হিল্কিয়ের পুত্র ইলিয়াকীমকে আহ্বান করব।
21 I will clothe him with thy robe, And bind thy girdle around him; Thy government will I commit to his hand, And he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, And to the house of Judah.
আমি তাকে তোমার পোশাক পরিয়ে দেব এবং তোমার কোমরবন্ধনী তার কোমরে জড়াব ও তোমার শাসনপদ তার হাতে দেব। যারা জেরুশালেমে থাকে ও যিহূদা কুলে বসবাস করে, আমি তাকে তাদের পিতৃস্বরূপ করব।
22 I will lay the key of the house of David upon his shoulder; He shall open, and none shall shut, And he shall shut, and none shall open.
আমি দাউদ কুলের চাবি তার স্কন্ধে ন্যস্ত করব; সে যা খুলবে, কেউ তা বন্ধ করতে পারবে না এবং সে যা বন্ধ করবে, কেউ তা খুলতে পারবে না।
23 I will fasten him as a peg in a sure place, And he shall be a glorious seat for his father's house.
আমি এক সুদৃঢ় স্থানে তাকে গোঁজের মতো স্থাপন করব; সে তার পিতৃকুলে এক সম্মানের আসনস্বরূপ হবে।
24 Upon him shall hang all the glory of his father's house, The offspring and the offshoots; Every small vessel, from the goblet even to all the pitchers.
তার বংশের সব গরিমা তারই উপরে ঝুলবে: তার সন্তানসন্ততি ও বংশধরেরা, যেমন কোনো গোঁজের উপরে ছোটো-বড়ো নির্বিশেষে সব পাত্র ঝুলতে থাকে।”
25 In that day, saith Jehovah of hosts, The peg that was once fastened in a sure place shall be moved; It shall be cut down, and fall, And the burden which was upon it shall come to the ground. For Jehovah hath said it.
সর্বশক্তিমান সদাপ্রভু ঘোষণা করেন, “সেদিন, সেই দৃঢ় স্থানে স্থাপিত গোঁজ আলগা হয়ে যাবে; তা উপড়ে নিচে পড়ে যাবে এবং তার মধ্যে ঝুলে থাকা সমস্ত ভার কেটে ফেলা হবে।” কারণ সদাপ্রভু স্বয়ং এই কথা বলেছেন।
