< Isaiah 18 >
1 Ho! thou land of rustling wings, Beyond the rivers of Ethiopia!
Elas! O peyi a zèl k ap fè gwo bri krikèt volan yo, ki rete lòtbò rivyè a Ethiopie yo.
2 That sendest thy messengers upon the sea, In reed-boats upon the face of the waters: Go, ye swift messengers, to a nation tall and fair, To a people terrible from the first and onward, To a mighty, victorious people, Whose land is divided by rivers!
Nou voye reprezantan yo bò lanmè a, menm sou veso fèt ak fèy papiris ki kouri sou sifas dlo. Ale, mesaje rapid yo, vè yon nasyon wo e swa, vè yon pèp ke tout moun pè, ni sa ki pre ni sa ki lwen, vè yon nasyon pwisan ki oprime tout moun, peyi ke rivyè yo divize a!
3 All ye inhabitants of the world, ye that dwell on the earth, When the standard is lifted up on the mountains, behold! When the trumpet is sounded, hear!
Nou tout, abitan mond lan ak sila ki rete sou latè yo, depi drapo a leve sou mòn yo, nou va wè l, e depi twonpèt la sone, n ap tande l.
4 For thus hath Jehovah said to me: “I will sit still, and look on from my dwelling-place, Like a serene heat when the sun shineth, Like a dewy cloud in the heat of harvest.”
Paske se konsa SENYÈ a te pale mwen: “Mwen va gade soti nan kote ke M rete byen kalm la. Mwen va tankou gwo chalè nan plen solèy, tankou yon nwaj lawouze nan chalè rekòlt la.”
5 But before the vintage, when the bud is gone, And the blossom is ripening into a swelling grape, He shall cut off the shoots with pruning-hooks, And the branches he shall take away and cut down.
Paske avan rekòlt la, la menm boujon yo ak flè a devni rezen ki mi; alò, Li va koupe retire nan bwa rezen ak yon sèpèt. Li va koupe retire branch k ap gaye yo.
6 They shall be left together to the ravenous birds of the mountains, And to the wild beasts of the earth. The ravenous birds shall summer upon it, And every wild beast of the earth shall winter upon it.
Yo va lese atè ansanm pou zwazo mòn ki manje chè yo; pou bèt latè yo. Zwazo ki manje chè yo va pase tout gran sezon an nan manje yo, e tout bèt latè yo va manje yo nan sezon livè.
7 At that time shall gifts be brought to Jehovah of hosts From a nation tall and fair, From a people terrible from the first and onward, A mighty, victorious people, Whose land is divided by rivers, To the dwelling-place of Jehovah of hosts, to mount Zion.
Nan lè sa a, yon kado omaj ki sòti nan yon pèp wo e swa va pote bay SENYÈ dèzame yo. Li va soti menm nan yon pèp ki inspire lakrent a sila ki pre, ak sila ki lwen yo; yon nasyon pwisan ki fè kalkil, ki oprime tout moun, yon peyi ke rivyè yo divize a. L ap rive nan plas ki pote non SENYÈ dèzame yo, menm Mòn Sion an.
