Isaiah 14
1 For Jehovah will have compassion upon Jacob, And will again set his love upon Israel, And cause them to rest in his own land. And strangers shall join themselves to them, And cleave to the house of Jacob.
Mert irgalmazni fog az Örökkévaló Jákobnak és újra választja Izraelt, s elhelyezi őket földjükön; csatlakozik hozzájuk a jövevény és hozzászegődnek Jákob házához.
2 The nations shall take them and bring them to their own place; And the house of Israel shall possess them, in the land of Jehovah, As servants and as handmaids; They shall take captive their captors, And they shall rule over their oppressors.
Veszik népek őket és elviszik helyükre, és birtokába veszi azokat Izrael háza az Örökkévaló földjén szolgákul és szolgálókul; foglyul ejtik foglyulejtőiket és uralkodnak zsarnokaikon.
3 So when Jehovah shall have given thee rest From thy sorrow and thy distress, And from the hard bondage Which was laid upon thee,
És lesz azon napon, hogy nyugalmat ad neked az Örökkévaló gyötrelmedtől és háborgásodtól és a kemény szolgálattól, mellyel szolgálnod kellett.
4 Then shall thou utter this song over the king of Babylon, and say, “How hath the tyrant fallen, The oppression ceased!
akkor elmondod ezt a példázatot Bábel királyáról és szólsz: Mint szűnt meg a zsarnok, megszűnt a kényuralom!
5 Jehovah hath broken the staff of the wicked, The rod of the tyrants,
Eltörte az Örökkévaló a gonoszok botját, az uralkodók vesszejét.
6 That smote the people in anger, With a continual stroke, That lorded it over the nations in wrath With unremitted oppression.
Aki népeket vert dühvel, szüntelen való veréssel, aki nemzeteket leigázott haraggal, üldöztetik szakadatlanul.
7 The whole earth is at rest, is quiet; They break forth into singing.
Megnyugodott, megpihent az egész föld, ujjongásra fakadtak.
8 Even the cypress-trees exult over thee, And the cedars of Lebanon: 'Since thou art fallen, No feller cometh up against us.'
A ciprusok is örültek rajtad, a Libanon cédrusai: amióta fekszel, nem, jő fel ellenünk, aki levágna.
9 The under-world is in commotion on account of thee, To meet thee at thy coming; It stirreth up before thee the shades, all the mighty of the earth; It arouseth from their thrones all the kings of the nations; (Sheol h7585)
Az alvilág alulról háborgott miattad, a te jöttöd elejébe; fölkeltette miattad az árnyakat, a föld hatalmasait, fölállította trónjaikról mind a nemzetek királyait. (Sheol h7585)
10 They all accost thee, and say, 'Art thou, too, become weak as we? Art thou become like us?'
Mindnyájan megszólalnak és mondják neked: Te is elgyengültél mint mi, hozzánk lettél hasonlóvá!
11 Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, And the sound of thy harps. Vermin have become thy couch, And worms thy covering. (Sheol h7585)
Az alvilágba szállíttatott le fenséged, lantjaid zúgása; alád terítettek férget, takaród pedig kukac. (Sheol h7585)
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cast down to the ground, Thou that didst trample upon the nations!
Mint hullottál le az égről, fényes csillag, hajnal fia, levágattál a földre, ki népek fölött sorsot vetettél!
13 Thou saidst in thy heart, 'I will ascend to heaven, Above the stars of God will I exalt my throne; I will sit upon the mount of assembly in the recesses of the north.
Te pedig azt mondtad szívedben: az égbe megyek föl, Isten csillagain fölül emelem trónomat, és ott ülök a találkozás hegyén, az észak hátulján;
14 I will ascend above the height of the clouds; I will be like the Most High.'
fölmegyek a felhő magaslataira, egyenlővé leszek a legfelsőbbel!
Ámde az alvilágba szállítanak le a gödör hátuljába! (Sheol h7585)
16 They that see thee gaze upon thee, and view thee attentively, (and say, ) 'Is this the man that made the earth tremble, That shook kingdoms,
Akik látnak, rád tekintenek, oda, figyelnek rád: Ez-e a férfi, ki megreszketteti a földet, megrendíti a királyságokat?
17 That made the world a wilderness, And laid waste its cities, And sent not his captives to their homes?'
Pusztává tette a világot és lerombolta városait, foglyait nem bocsátotta haza.
18 All the kings of the nations, yea, all of them, Lie down in glory, each in his own sepulchre;
Mind a nemzetek királyai, valamennyien feküsznek dicsőségben, kiki a házában.
19 But thou art cast forth without a grave, Like a worthless branch; Covered with the slain, who are pierced by the sword, Who go down to the stones of the pit, Like a carcass trampled under foot.
Te pedig kivettettél sírodból mint megutált gally, takarva megöltekkel, a kardtól leszúrtakkal, akik leszállnak a gödör köveihez, mint eltiprott dög.
20 Thou shalt not be joined with them in the grave, Because thou hast destroyed thy country, And slain thy people; The race of evil-doers shall nevermore be named.
Nem egyesülsz velük temetésben, mert országodat megrontottad, népedet megölted; nem neveztetik soha a gonosztevők magzatja.
21 Prepare ye slaughter for his children, For the iniquity of their fathers, That they may no more arise, and possess the earth, And fill the world with enemies!”
Készítsetek fiai számára, vágóhelyet, atyáik bűne miatt, hogy föl ne keljenek és elfoglalják a földet, hogy megteljék a világ színe városokkal.
22 For I will arise against them, saith Jehovah of hosts, And I will cut off from Babylon the name and remnant, Posterity and offspring, saith Jehovah.
Fölkelek ellenük, úgymond az Örökkévaló, a seregek ura, és kiirtom Bábelnek nevét és maradékát, sarjadékát és ivadékát, úgymond az Örökkévaló.
23 I will make her the possession of the porcupine, and pools of water; Yea, I will sweep her away with the besom of destruction, saith Jehovah of hosts.
És teszem őt sündisznó birtokává és vizek posványaivá; és elsöpröm a megsemmisítés söprőjével, úgymond az Örökkévaló a seregek ura.
24 Jehovah of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely, as I have devised, so shall it come to pass, The purpose which I have formed, that shall stand,
Megesküdött az Örökkévaló, a seregek ura, mondván: Bizony amint gondoltam, úgy lett, amint határoztam az áll meg:
25 To crush the Assyrian in my land, And to trample him on my mountains. Then shall his yoke depart from them, And his burden be removed from their shoulders.
hogy megtöröm Assúrt országomban és hegyeimen letiprom, hogy távozzék ő róluk az igája és terhe válláról távozzék.
26 This is the purpose which is formed concerning all the earth, And this the hand which is stretched out over all the nations.
Ez a határozat, mely határozva van az egész földre és ez a kéz, mely ki van nyújtva mind a nemzetekre.
27 For Jehovah of hosts hath decreed, and who shall disannul it? And his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?
Mert az Örökkévaló, a seregek ura határozott, ki bontaná meg? Az ő keze, mely ki van nyújtva, ki utasítaná vissza?
28 In the year in which Ahaz the king died came this prophecy.
Ácház király halálának évében volt ez a beszéd.
29 Rejoice not, all Philistia, Because the rod that smote thee is broken, For from the root of a serpent shall come forth a basilisk, And his fruit shall be a flying, fiery serpent.
Ne örülj, te egész Peléset, hogy eltöretett megverődnek vesszeje; mert kígyó gyökeréből baziliszkus jő ki, és gyümölcse repülő sárkány.
30 Then shall the most wretched of the poor feed quietly, And the needy shall lie down in security; For I will kill thy root with famine, And thy remnant shall be slain.
Legelnek majd a szegények elsőszülöttjei, és a szűkölködők biztosságban heverésznek; és kiölöm éhséggel gyökeredet és maradékodat megöli.
31 Howl, O gate! cry aloud, O city! O Philistia, thou meltest away in terror! For from the north cometh a smoke, And there is no straggler in their hosts.
Jajgass kapu, kiálts város, csüggedj el, egész Peléset; mert északról füst jő, nincs különmaradó az ő gyülekezeteiben.
32 What answer shall be given to the messengers of the nations? That Jehovah hath founded Zion, And in her shall the poor of his people find refuge.
És mit feleljenek a nemzetek követeinek? Hogy az Örökkévaló megalapította, Cziónt és benne menedéket találnak népének szegényei!
